The metal finish has some small amounts of wear and there is some light surface speckling. The action does not feed correctly with snap caps, this seems to be a common problem with our snap caps and Remingtons and might be due to the short length of the snap caps. We have not tested the gun with live ammo so cannot reliability. The stock has some scratches and dents but no splits or repairs.

Swedish Mauser 6.5 x 55mm bolt action rifle, serial number 114708 (matching) 30 inch barrel, rear sight removed to allow for a target aperture sight, breech marked Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori and dated 1902 German nitro proof marks.UK RFD OR A FIREARMS LICENCE WITH CORRECT VARIATION 6.5mm RIFLE REQUIRED TO BUY THIS LOT.126cm longThe gun is in slightly below-average outward condition for this type of rifle which is normally found in very nice condition, having said this it is still in reasonable condition for a military rifle. There are lots of dents and marks to the stock, the butt plate disk stands proud on one side rather than sitting flush as it should do. The rear sight is missing. The blued finish is worn and there is light surface speckling to the polished parts. The action works positively with a strong-sounding spring. The bore is bright with no signs of damage or pitting, there is some wear to the rifling which is not quite crisp and starting to soften but there is still plenty of life left in the lands and grooves.

Moore of London percussion 18 bore side by side double barrel shotgun, 29.5 inch Damascus barrels with platinum lined breech and plugs each bearing touch mark reading Moore Patent London, scroll engraved actions, figured chequered stock with pineapple finial trigger guard. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out.118cm long The gun is in nice presentable condition with a fair patina. Unfortunately, the barrels have problems. The right side barrel has swollen in two places and there appear to be light cracks within the Damascus patterning at these points. When sighting down the top rib, there is a noticeable curve to the left of both tubes plus ribs and the right barrel has probably blown out at some point warping the whole frame of the barrels to one side. The platinum and lead breech plugs are different in appearance on each side, the right one looking somewhat distorted. The bores are generally clean with some light pitting marks. The metalwork generally has some light pitting patches throughout. The actions work with strong springs, the insides of the hammers have some dents from being dropped on the nipples without caps. There are some very short cracks to the stock emanating from the lock are back towards the chequering, these are about half an inch long and look stable. There is a chip to the point of the forend where it meets the ramrod pipe. The stock has some scratches, dents, and marks. There has been some refinishing work to the steel furniture of the gun leaving some of the engraving a little faint.

The stock as lots of dents and marks typical of a military gun, there are two dowel plugs just above the trigger guard. There are no splits or repairs. There is a repaired crack straight through the forend on both sides of the middle barrel key. There is a spliced repair to the thinnest part of the wood in this area too. There are lots of dents and marks to the wood stock which can be seen from the images. Some screw heads show signs of being worked, there is a crack to the trigger guard either side of the first screw hole. The ramrod is a replacement. The bayonet has overall pitting.

The bore is very good condition with a crisp rifling pattern and only a few tiny and very minor pit marks. The crown is in good order although the barrel has probably been reduced in length to remove a damaged or worn out crown or muzzle. The barrel has some pitting to the exterior, mainly around the nipple area. The nipple is a modern replacement. The false breech and barrel have been refinished. The lock works correctly with a good spring, the trigger is has been worked on and it much lighter to use than a standard Enfield pattern rifle trigger would be. The ramrod is a modern replacement. There is some pitting and corrosion to the trigger guard, butt plate and sling swivels. The stock shows scars of another sight being fitted behind the tang, there is a spliced-in patch to the comb, and a section of wood removed just ahead of the nipple housing. There are some streaks to the stock finish from cleaning fluid that has leaked down the gun.

The barrel is in proof and there are no dents visible. The bore is clean but there is a couple of corrosion patches. The metal finish externally is worn and there is some light corrosion patches scattered throughout. There is a small amount of wobble between barrel and action. The action does not feed correctly with snap caps, this might be due to the short length of the snap caps. We have not tested the gun with live ammo so cannot reliability. The pistol grip has to fault lines to underside which follow the grain line, the woodwork appears stable in this area and this may just be cosmetic. There is a chip to the corner of the forend where it meets the action. There are quite a few scratches and dents from use. The varnish to the woodwork shows signs of wear.

There is overall pitting, too deep to polish out to the metalwork. The bore has pitting throughout. The action cocks and releases but not very convincingly and the mainspring feels weak. The side nail is a replacement but is not quite the correct size to hold the lock firmly into the stock. The ramrod is a replacement. There are lots of dents and marks to the wood stock which can be seen from the images. There is a restuck area and two splits to the wood surrounding the lock plate. Some screws are replacements, there is a glue mark to the butt plate tang where and attempt has been made to hold the tang snuggly down in the stock rather than it sitting above the surface level of the stock as it currently does.

It was originally a flintlock, converted to percussion and then has been reconverted back to flintlock, the evidence for this is that the pan does not line up quite correctly with the touch hole and the tail of the lock does not align perfectly with the stock. There is overall pitting to the gun, this is heavier on the barrel where it would be too deep to polish out. The bore has pitting throughout. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring. The stock has the typical crack between the side nail and the barrel channel, there is a chipped-away section of wood where it meets the barrel on the reverse side of the lock. There is the odd spot in the first half of each tube. The blacking to the barrels is in average order with some wear around the breech end. There are some light corrosion spots to the top lever. The trigger guard has been reblued.There is some light surface speckling to the polished parts.The action works correctly with good timing, lock-up and a strong spring.The grip is free from splits or cracks, there are some small dents and scratches.Some screw heads show signs of being worked. The case has lots of dents, scratches and marks. It is structurally sound but the two rear corner joints are very slightly separating in small areas, this however does not affect the working of the box. There is a very slight warp to the lid but it shuts flat. The key does not work the lock but it cannot be removed. The lining to the inside has some spotted staining, it is worn through to the wood in small areas and there is a chip to the wood in one place. The section of lining which holds the screwdrivers is loose. The powder flask has a small dent and some scrapes and marks. The spring from the catch is missing. The bullet mould has lots of dents, scratches and signs of use, there is pitting to the steel sprue plate.

The barrels ring when tapped, there are two fairly shallow dents to the left hand tube as well as two more to the central rib. They are in proof and measure at: 18.4mm right and 18.6mm left, matching the proof stamps. The walls measure a minimum of .20 right and .11 left, (20/1000th of an inch is the recommended minimum wall thickness) The bores have some very light shadows of pitting.The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed. The actions function correctly. There are two dents to the fence, as well as a small dent to the corner edge of the breech where it meets the fence. The gun has been carefully restored and is now in good overall presentable condition, there is some rebrowning and re-bluing work throughout. The stock is free from splits or repairs, are quite a few scratches and dents from use especially around the butt area. The forend has a crack visible to to the inside but not the outside, there are some chips to the thin part where the wood meets the barrels.
