A late 20th century white metal model of HMS 'Beagle', maker Ammonite Ltd, Birmingham: set full sail on a green veined marble base with silver plaque 'HMS Beagle, 1831' and numbered 546/1000, 16cm high (rigging restored).*Notes- HMS Beagle was the Royal Navy 10-gun sloop on which Charles Darwin travelled 1831-1836.
Two late 19th century framed lithographs of HMS 'Alert':HMS 'Alert' and 'HMS Alert in a heavy gale off the coast of Mozambique Channel, June 1st , 1882; both in geometric carved Oxford frames, 13.5 x 20.5 and 13 x 19cm respectively (2)*Notes- Built as a Royal Navy 17-gun wooden screw sloop of the Cruizer -class, she was converted for arctic exploration and accompanied the Discovery on the British Arctic Expedition 1874-1876.
Colonel Henry Wemyss Feilden CB. Baronet of Feniscowles (1838-1921) and battle of San Domingo, 1806, Interest: A circular watercolour quarter length portrait of Col. Feilden, unsigned, in a carved oak and glazed frame, together with a gun metal and yellow metal half hunter pocket watch, formerly belonging to Col. William Henry Feilden baronet, a treen and gilt metal crucifix and rosary with manuscript note 'This crucifix found at the taking of St. (sic) Domingo and given to the Dowager Lady Feilden in a Fenniscowles House, Scarborough' embossed envelope and a small Carte de Visite of a lady, possibly The Dowager Lady Feilden.*Notes-Feilden was the second son of Sir William Henry Feilden (1812-1879) born in Kildare while his father was serving with the 17th Lancers. After joining the Black Watch at the age of 19 he fought in the suppression of the Indian Mutiny 1857-58 and at Taku Forts in China 1860. He volunteered for the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War 1861-65 and was under General Joseph E Johnson in the Army of Tennessee and was present at the surrender of Bennett Place. On returning to England he joined the Royal Artillery in 1874 serving in the First and Second Boer Wars. During his travels he collected geology, flora and fauna and served as a naturalist during Sir George Nare's British Arctic Expedition 1875-76 aboard Alert.The Battle of San Domingo 1806 was fought between a squadron of British and French ships off the coast of San Domingo in the Caribbean at the end of the Napoleonic Wars.
A 19th century scale model of a 16 gun sixth rate sloop: standing rigged and flying a white ensign and Union Jack over deck with helm, deck grates and sixteen turned brass cannon on wooden trucks at open ports, the figurehead in the form of a soldier, with brass anchor to bow and skiff to stern, plank and pinned hull supported in a cradle mount, 130 x 108cm.
An Edwardian oak and glass tray constructed from the ship's timbers of Royal Navy first-rate 102-gun HMS 'Cambridge': the glazed tray enclosing hand drawn naval crown over portrait of the ship with legend beneath, in a moulded frame with silver plate mounted turned handles to either end, plaque to one end 'Constructed of wood from HMS Cambridge. Built at Pembroke 1858. Broken up by Cox & Co at Falmouth, 1908', 53 x 37.5cm.*Notes- laid down as HMS 'Victoria' in 1844 work was suspended twice as she was reordered to be built with a modified sail design and subsequently a modified steam design. Launched as HMS 'Windsor Castle'' in 1859 she was renamed HMS 'Cambridge' in 1869, eventually broken up in 1908.

The original rail gun was designed by Krupp and built 1941-45. it required 500 men to fire it and was the larges calibre rifled weapon ever used in combat. It was destroyed one day before the arrival of the American troops, 14th April 1945.
