A STRIPED DRESS BLAZER AND MATCHING TIE, WHICH USED TO BELONG TO A MEMBER OF THE ARTISTS RIFLES/NORFOLK REGIMENT WHO SPENT SOME OF WW2 AS A POW IN COLDITZ CASTLE (Oflag IV-C) 2nd Lieut C A Elson, he had been reported missing/killed at Le Paradis, but after leaving a German Military Hospital after being wounded, ended up in the infamous Colditz, The Blazer is Candy striped by Charles Norman of London, together with a matching Tie, the Blazer has a nice original Artists Rifles Bullion badge to the chest pocket, both items are not in good condition, and would be worthy of a good dry clean process these items are worthy of further research ***Further details are now available** Clem Elson was captured on May 25th 1940 after being wounded when in charge of the Bren Gun carriers who were moving forward to support the Royal Scots, they were ambushed by the Germans, and all were killed apart from Elson, he could not move, until taken POW 2 Days later 97 of his Comrades were massacred at LE Paradis by members of the SS Totenkopf Division, Clemson attempted escape on several occasions, but was eventually sent to Colditz*** sold with photo copy photos of Clemson at Colditz, and a small photo of him wearing the blazer lying on a beach in 1949 with a young child
