REA' with a scroll engraved flourish to the pointed tail, border engraved cock also with a scrolled flourish, unbridled frizzen with small pan, walnut handrail full-stock with squared comb notched to the front, carved apron around the top-tang, brass furniture including flat sheet-brass heel-plate and moulded side-plate, single ramrod thimble detached but present, replacement iron ramrod.

A GOOD .75 FLINTLOCK 1795 INDIA PATTERN BROWN BESS SERVICE MUSKET, rack no. 320, circa 1800, with 39in. barrel struck with the King's proofs, borderline engraved lock bearing the 'TOWER' crown G.R. cypher, fitted with swan-neck cock, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, with high comb and handrail wrist, the right butt stamped with an Ordnance storekeepers stamp dated 1800, the left butt carved 'LM 17 BT NO 320', probably a Nova Scotia Militia marking, complete with sling swivels, rod and old brown leather sling.

A 16-BORE BRASS-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS SIGNED CRAWFORTH, NEWCASTLE, circa 1765, with octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 16in. barrel with shallow flare to muzzle, moulded band at intersection, bead fore-sight, heavy carved and moulded band at breech with sighting notch, the top-flat signed 'THOMAS CRAWFORTH OF NEWCASTLE', floral engraving to the forward and aft sections of the round portion with a central scroll engraved panel, borderlines engraved to the sixteen sided section and further rubbed engraving to breech, plain iron top-tang, probable replacement plain lock of musket size from an earlier piece, swan-necked cock and unbridled frizzen, walnut handrail full-stock with broad brass heel-plate and long broad top-spur, iron lower tang and trigger guard bow with moulded acorn finial, brass ramrod pipe and plain wood ramrod.

A .69 FLINTLOCK SWISS CANTONAL (LUZERN) MUSKET, serial no. 711, circa 1800, with 40in. barrel with bayonet stud on the underside of the muzzle and marked at breech 'G. LUZERN NO 711', the lock of French pattern stamped to the centre with a small crown over 'E.i' / 'St. ETIENNE' and fitted a detachable brass pan and ring-neck cock, regulation iron mounted full walnut stock with handrail wrist, the left of the butt with scooped cheek-rest, three spring retained barrel bands, the top band incorporates a sight and acts as a nosecap, two piece trigger-guard with finger grips to tang, the musket is a copy of the French Charleville Model 1777 Corrected Year IX musket, the standard French musket of the Napoleonic wars, complete with sling swivels, ramrod and its triangular socket bayonet (no scabbard). * Please note this item is subject to 5% VAT on the hammer price (UK Buyers only).

1747 Dated Flintlock Rampart/Deck Large Scale Musket4 bore, 54 inch, smoothbore barrel.  Front blade sight.  Breech with various proof stamps.  Military pattern, large scale lock plate with crowned GR.  The tang with "Farmer 1747".  Polished handrail butt and half stock woodwork.  Large hole drilled through the butt.  Brass shield escutcheon, serpent side plate and trigger guard.  Lower barrel with large steel, captive block to secure a bracket.  Cock and frizzen absent.  Mainspring not fitted but present.

A GOOD 14-BORE FLINTLOCK RIFLE BY GRIFFIN, CIRCA 1750, no visible serial number, 36in. two stage octagonal to round barrel with swamped muzzle, rifled with deeply cut eleven groove rifling, making a half turn in 36in., shaped brass fore-sight, borderline engraved lock of rounded form and of typical Griffin style, engraved with makers name 'GRIFFIN' to centre, shallow pan without frizzen bridle, the frizzen spring with trefoil end, swan-neck cock, iron mounted full walnut stock with slightly curved butt, handrail wrist blending into the comb, the area around the rear part of lock, sideplate and tang carved in relief, the area around the barrel tang terminating with a shell motif, all in typical Griffin style, the iron mounts include trigger-guard, butt-plate three rammer pipes and a rococo style side-plate, faded with minor wear in places, some rusting and staining.

A BRASS-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS BY JAMES BARBAR, CIRCA 1750, no visible serial number, with 14in. ring turned cannon mouthed brass barrel, struck at the breech with London proof marks and engraved 'LONDON', to the top, borderline engraved lock of rounded form and inscribed with the makers name 'BARBAR' to centre, bun-nut retained swan-neck cock, shallow pan without frizzen bridle, a typical feature of early manufacture, brass mounted full walnut stock with handrail wrist, complete with horn tipped ramrod (likely original).
