Original vintage pin-up girl poster designed by American pin-up artist, George Brown Petty IV (1894-1975), who produced images of pin-up girls for Esquire. His artwork of what became known as "Petty Girls" was popular as nose art decoration on warplanes during World War Two, including the Memphis Belle. Great image featuring a girl wearing a wide brimmed hat, sheer top and high heel lace up shoes smiling and holding a telephone. Very good condition, light browning on edges, light creasing. Additional InformationThe first mentioned top is misshapen, enamel thin to one of the ovals, the second enamelled example pin has been broken off from the top and crudely reglued, both Charles Horner examples are marked sterling but are not bearing full hallmarks, one of the paste set tops again at an angle with some damage at the joint, general wear commensurate with age throughout.

A Louis Vuitton lady's hat box or square steamer trunk in monogram canvas, first half 20th century, covered in LV monogram canvas, bound in LV stamped tan leather, with brass mounts, clasps and lock, single tan leather handle to top, the interior with original lift-out basket and quilted ivory ribboned fabric lining to lid, original label to inside of lid, 'LOUIS VUITTON 788958 PARIS 70 CHAMPS-ELYSSEE 149 NEW BOND STREET LONDON NICE CANNES VICHY', painted initials J.E.G to lid, 20 x 17½in. (50.75 x 44.5cm.), 18¼in. (46.4cm.) high, in fine condition, with key., *Condition:Some wear to painted initials. Carrying handle slightly water marked and faded but remains very sturdy. A few bumps to sides, small surface stain to lower centre front, small scuff to rear and light scratch to right side near back. Overall the exterior is in lovely, very original condition. Very minor rubs and marks to leather edging. Brass has not been polished. A few small spot stain marks inside lid and some pin holes to fabric. Two areas of rust spotting to fabric to sides of the base from the metal hinge behind. Underside also good with no damage to canvas and expected wear to wooden slats from careful use.
