Lot 124

A well engineered 7 1/4 inch gauge model of a 2-6-2+2-6-2 Freelance Garratt articulated live steam locomotive 'Gordon Too', built by Mr R G Gray and completed 2017. Full working four-cylinders, Hackworth, slide valve, valve gear, driven from centre axles, polished working motion, wheel arrangement 2-6-2+2-6-2 with fully compensated suspension to all driving axles, and independent coils to the pony trucks. The locomotive has a large twenty gallon water tank on the front chassis which gives added adhesion, the driver sits on the rear chassis for the same reason. Fluted motion with bronze motion bearings fitted with wick-feed oilers. Steam oil, separate mechanical twin ram pump feeding each steam-chest, motion and many other wick-feed oil cups. This documentation will be available for inspection at the auction rooms. Also available is a full photographic log of approximately 750 photographs, of her build. To watch a YouTube video of her in action at Woodseaves M.R.(Salop), 'copy' and 'paste' this link to your browser www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2W_qnERvGsVendors Notes: "A truly unique 'one off' free-lance design, derived round many Romulus parts, with distinct leanings towards others of the same Garratt format that the builder watched in his youth in Central Africa. Originally conceived and built for a large public railway that unfortunately closed before her completion. Since completion she has resided at Woodseaves Model Railway, Salop, which is a little too small for her power and size. She has seen little serious running due largely to the pandemic, but is now beginning to ease out nicely and is running very sweetly, though will no doubt improve further with more use. A sliding roof hatch is fitted for easy driver vision of the controls and pressure gauge. The name 'Gordon Too' comes from a couple of sources. This is the 4th 7 1/4 inch gauge locomotive he has built. Hence running number No 4 is inescapable, as is Gordon as Four consecutive generations of his immediate family have Gordon in their name. He likes blue! The great Rev. Awdry had No 4 as 'Gordon, the big blue engine', so this just had to be Gordon as well (Too). "Or the Grand-children would have rebelled!". BOILER HISTORY DISCLAIMERPlease Note: All boiler history records and references made in this catalogue are made for guidance only and the auctioneers are not able to convey any guarantees or warranties as to the safety of the boilers or their present condition.Condition Report: Built by R. 1980 Moto Guzzi V50 MKIIMake: Moto GuzziModel: V50 MKIIYear: 1980Mileage: 10527VIN: PB16830Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: HOB152WTransmission: ManualThis 1980 493cc Moto Guzzi V50 has been owned by the vendor since 2012, but only used for local rides for the first year or so with him, amounting to 300 miles or so. After that it was stored in a heated garage. Its low mileage of 10,527 miles is supported by the MoT documentation, and the vendor tells us that it 'starts, runs and rides well'. Recent work carried out includes cleaning out the carburettors and tank, with fresh fuel then added. A new ignition switch was also fitted. The bike would benefit from some minor cosmetic work to the plastic side covers and front mudguard, but otherwise looks good. Included in the paperwork folder is the V5C plus works manual and documents file. There's also the MoT certificate for 2012, plus some older ones back to 1992. The bike will also come with some parts such as the original airbox and filter as well as a matching headlamp cowl, windscreen and fittings, for the next owner to install if required.

1976 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 Sports SaloonRegistration no. SFL 135RChassis no. V8/11575/RCAOdometer reading: 81,971MOT: Exempt*First used as a factory demonstrator*Automatic transmission*Generously specifiedAston Martin's acquisition by Company Developments in 1972 ushered in a name change for the V8-engined cars: out went 'DBS V8', in came 'Aston Martin V8'. This new Series 2 was readily distinguishable by its restyled front, which now featured two instead of four headlamps, recalling the looks of the earlier DB six-cylinder cars. Introduced for 1973, the Series 3 employed a quartet of Weber 42 DCNF carburettors instead of the previous Bosch mechanical fuel injection, the change bringing with it increased torque and a larger bonnet bulge. Fuel economy improved and even in automatic-transmission form the Weber-equipped car proved almost as quick as the preceding manual version, being capable of over 145mph flat-out. Its accompanying copy Car Record Card shows that '11575' was originally finished in Raven Black with fawn trim, and sent to Aston Martin (Sales) Ltd for use as a demonstrator. The original registration was 'PYN 175R'. Being intended for demonstration purposes, '11575' was generously specified, featuring two door mirrors; two rear fog lamps; over-riders; side marker lights; headlamp wash/wipe; lockable centre ashtray; and a Phillips AM/FM radio/cassette stereo system. Its last UK V5C Registration Certificate records Mr Timothy Ludbrook of London as registered keeper (from 18th April 2009). Prior to Mr Ludbrook, the Aston had been owned by AMOC member Timothy Marshall. Additional documentation includes a quantity of MoTs for the period 1988-2008; Tracker paperwork; an old V5 registration document; a handful of bills; and a Classicmobilia (Keith Riddington) sales invoice dated 24th September 2010 when the car was sold to the current owner. The Aston Martin has been on static display for a number of years and as such will require recommissioning prior to road use. 1964 Humber Super Snipe Series IV SaloonRegistration no. EYY 888BChassis no. B8204486 BW HLOOdometer reading: TBCMOT: Exempt*Believed retailed by Arthur Mulliner*Formerly owned by Lord Harris*Present ownership since 2004A large luxury saloon, the Humber Super Snipe first appeared in the late 1930s, finding a ready market within the ranks of Civil Service officialdom and the middle class professions, and continued in mildly face-lifted form post-WW2. A more radical re-style marked the arrival of the MkII in 1948, but the first major mechanical revision came in 1952 when a new chassis was introduced and the long-running sidevalve six replaced by a Commer overhead-valve unit. Re-styled at the same time, this new Super Snipe progressed through Marks IV, IVA and IVB before being superseded by the unitary construction Series I in 1958. The Series I Super Snipe's new bodyshell was shared with the contemporary four-cylinder Hawk, but the former's engine was an all-new 2.65-litre six-cylinder unit. Improvements to the Super Snipe appeared almost annually, a 2.96-litre engine and front-wheel disc brakes arriving in 1959 (Series II); a four-headlamp front end in 1960 (Series III); and a slightly more powerful engine in September 1962 (Series IV). Production of these large and luxurious Humbers finally ceased in 1967, the Super Snipe Series VA being the last of this popular line. Believed sold new via Arthur Mulliner, this automatic-transmission Series IV was purchased by the current vendor in June 2004 from well-respected dealers Hurst Park Automobiles (Kevin and Trevor Wooding), its immediately preceding owner being Lord Harris. The purchase invoice is on file and the car also comes with sundry bills; five MoTs (most recent expired 2005); and an old-style V5C Registration Certificate. The Humber has been on static display for a number of years and as such will require recommissioning prior to road use. 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III 'Continental' SaloonCoachwork by Coachwork by James YoungRegistration no. CGT 404BChassis no. SGT567Odometer reading: 98,431MOT: Exempt*Rare coachbuilt 'Continental' model*Present ownership since 2008*Purchased from marque specialists P&A Wood'In the twilight of their coachbuilding years, James Young had with these cars reached the pinnacle of excellence.' - Martin Bennett, Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Launched in 1962, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III and its Bentley S3 equivalent employed the 6.2-litre V8 engine introduced on the 'Cloud II/S2 - though with larger carburettors, new distributor and raised compression ratio - and came with a four-speed GM-derived automatic transmission as standard equipment. Most obvious among many changes from the preceding models was the adoption of four-headlamp lighting; the absence of sidelights from the wing tops; and a slightly lower radiator shell. Inside there was improved accommodation with separate front seats and increased room for rear passengers. With the 'Cloud III's introduction, it was decided to allow Bentley Continental-style bodies to be built on its chassis, which was altered to incorporate the lower-raked Bentley Continental steering column and other minor Continental features. However, it should be noted that Rolls-Royce never referred to these models as 'Continentals', this term being adopted subsequently by the motor trade. One source quotes a figure of only 20 Silver Cloud III 'Continentals' produced by James Young, which clothed them in aluminium-panelled four-door bodywork lighter than the 'standard steel' offering. The vendor purchased this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud 'Continental' from renowned marque specialists P&A Wood in April 2008. A copy of the sales invoice is on file together with a copy of the car's last V5C Registration Certificate. The Silver Cloud III has been on static display for a number of years and as such will require recommissioning prior to road use. Worthwhile improvements came with the MKII models of 1974 and the quadruple headlamp MKIII cars introduced in 1978. Then in 1981, the venerable 3-litre Essex-engined variant was dropped in favour of the 2.8 Injection model - a single-car range powered by the lusty fuel-injected 2.8-litre Cologne V6. Power rose to 160bhp and, soon after launch, the old four-speed gearbox was replaced with a more contemporary five-speed one. Ford now had a stylish four-seat Coupe with performance capable of shaming rivals costing four times the money - it could hit 60mph in 7.8 seconds and top 130mph flat out. Capris have become hot property and many enthusiasts regard the 2.8-litre injection cars as the best of the bunch.Supplied new via County Garage (Ellon) Ltd of Aberdeen, being purchased on the 7th of January that 1986 by the first owner (as per the original bill of sale). Fitted with the 2792cc Cologne V6 engine mated to the five-speed manual transmission, this 2.8i Special is finished in the classic colour combination of Mineral Blue over Strato Grey with Grey leather and cloth Recaro interior upholstery. With just three owners from new, the Capri was retained by its first owner from 1986 until 2012, before passing to the second keeper, who also resided in Aberdeenshire and kept the Ford until 2018. Understood to have never used the car on the road, the current (third) keeper purchased ‘C193 RSA’ in 2018, covering just 73,416 miles from new (at time of consignment) in the hands of the said three owners.Costing £9,603.50 when new, the Capri was specified with the optional extra of Ford mud flaps as illustrated by the aforementioned original bill of sale that is presented in the history file. The history file further includes the original books (with service book and owners manual); a collection of invoices; some hand-written logs of expenditure; copies of previous logbooks; a large number of MOTs with the earliest dating from 1992; a current V5C document and two keys, one set which is displaying an original dealership key ring. The subject of much expenditure since 2016, the Capri benefitted from engine, gearbox and rear axle refurbishment in 2016 along with fitment of new-old-stock front wings, front panel and ‘slam’ panel and repainting in the original colour scheme. The Capri’s suspension received an overhaul including uprated bushes and a brake refresh in 2017. During the current ownership, ‘C193 RSA’ has been treated to a replacement gearbox and new clutch, limited slip-differential repairs (with double clutch bands fitted) and servicing. It has also had the leather sections of its upholstery professionally re-connolised.Footnote: For more information, please contact: Paul Cheetham paul.cheetham@handh.co.uk 07538 667452

A rear wing, extendable at high speeds, kept the SLS stable at its near-200mph maximum, while its low weight (3,573lbs) helped the car lap the Mercedes-Benz test track quicker than its SLR McLaren predecessor. Lot 112

1979 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Sports SaloonRegistration no. Not UK RegisteredChassis no. V8/VOR/12204Offered without reserve•Original UK market car•Five-speed manual gearbox•Original electric sunroofFootnotes:With the resurrection of the 'Vantage' name in 1977, Aston Martin enthusiasts everywhere breathed a sigh of relief; previously applied to high-power versions of the DB six-cylinder cars, it had been dormant since the V8's arrival back in 1969. A heavier car than its six-cylinder predecessor, the V8 suffered as emissions legislation became ever more strangulating, leading to concern that Aston Martin's traditional performance image might be lost. The arrival of the Vantage dispelled any such worries. Propelling Aston's V8 back into the supercar league was a tuned version of the existing 5,340cc engine breathing through a quartet of 48mm Weber carburettors rather than the standard 42mm instruments. Valves and ports were enlarged and the camshafts changed, the end result being an estimated maximum output of around 375-380bhp - in Rolls-Royce fashion the factory chose not to disclose the actual figure, merely claiming that power was 'adequate'. In 1978 the V8 Vantage earned the title of 'world's fastest accelerating production car' and throughout its life delivered outstanding performance by any standard, accelerating to 60mph in just 5.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 175mph. With such high speeds attainable, aerodynamic refinements were called for; thus the Vantage gained a deep front 'chin' spoiler, blanked off front grille and a boot lid spoiler, the latter being bolted on to the earliest cars and later integrated into the bodywork. There were commensurate improvements to the suspension, brakes and tyres. Unlike the V8 saloon, which reverted to fuel injection in 1986, the V8 Vantage kept its 48IDF Weber carburettors to the end of production in December 1989, by which time 361 cars had been built. Originally finished in Old English Pewter with Fawn trim, chassis number '12204' was delivered equipped with the following options: two detachable headrests; electric sliding roof; headlamp wash/wipe; lambs' wool front seat covers; and lockable filler caps. The car's first owner was P Crane Esq of GTV Caravans, Bristol. The current owner purchased the Vantage from respected Aston Martin specialist Keith Riddington's Classicmobilia in October 2010, by which time it had been refinished in California Sage and re-trimmed in Magnolia. Accompanying purchase paperwork records the displayed mileage as 61,000 and states that the Aston had recently been subject to a full engine rebuild and replacement clutch. The car is offered with an old-style V5C Registration Certificate and copies of factory build documents. As the Vantage was exported, an application will need to be made to retain the registration number. The V8 Vantage has been on static display for a number of years and will require recommissioning prior to road use. 1990 Mercedes-Benz 280GE Transmission: automaticMileage:110000The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles in their history with a span of 32 years. It was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran and offered as a civilian version in 1979. The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982 when the 230GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tyres and wheel arches. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard.First registered on 14th November 1990 and offered in black with the original tartan grey Mercedes trim, this desirable long wheelbase 280GE with the 2.8 litre petrol engine is mated to a recently serviced automatic transmission. This example also boasts a ‘jump seat’ to the rear so in total it has space for six passengers. Featuring a recent service which included new front brake pads, this Mercedes is offered with the original owner’s manual, a raft of receipts and service invoices coupled to historic MoT test certificates. This 280GE boasts just four previous owners and an MoT test certificate valid until June 2022.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 142

1993 Mercedes-Benz 300 GEL Transmission: automaticMileage:226000The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard.Originally registered on 30th September 1993, this long wheelbase, petrol engine, G-Wagon defies the mileage as it presents exceedingly well. Clearly a very well looked after example, the black coachwork is virtually unmarked and the grey leather interior shows no significant signs of wear and is unblemished. We are advised she drives as good as she looks and the engine certainly sounds great. This highly desirable Mercedes-Benz is fitted with the additional seats to the rear and benefits from having had a recent full service, including a gearbox service, new front discs and pads and a new exhaust system. Supplied with the original owner’s manual and maintenance booklet, together with two sets of keys, previous service receipts, a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 20th February 2022, this 28 year old utility vehicle is fitted with automatic transmission and offers versatility, reliability and prestige all in one.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 106

1988 Mercedes-Benz 280 GE Transmission: automaticMileage:90900The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen, (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz in Daimler's history with a span of 32 years. The G-class was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran and offered as a civilian version in 1979. The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grills and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982 when the 230GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tyres, and fender flares. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking, and a tachometer become standard. This very original example is presented in metallic grey with cloth ‘Recaro’ interior and comes with automatic transmission, front grill mounted fog lights and a fitted tow bar. It had a ‘short’ engine replacement at 36,562 which is documented in the history file and the odometer is currently showing a mere 90,900 which is very low for such a vehicle of its age. This iconic 4x4 was last used on the road in 2008 and has been dried stored ever since. The present owner has recently carried out a light recommissioning which entailed new brakes, battery and fuel pump and it will come with a new MoT test certificate. The interior is in nice condition with added benefit of having the extra rear seats, therefore offering the nine-seat option which is extremely useful and electric windows to the front and rear. The vehicle comes with its original booklets, manuals, full set of overmats and a copy of its original data sheet. These 4x4 from Mercedes-Benz have reached ‘cult’ status amongst enthusiasts and this genuine example is devoid of some of those additions which most find unattractive.Interested parties should note that this vehicle was running prior to its delivery but needs re commissioning and cannot be driven away from the auction venue. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1993 Volvo 240 SE EstateMake: VolvoModel: 240 SE EstateYear: 1993Mileage: 117867VIN: YV1245273P1962438Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: L528GJOTransmission: manualThis 1993 silver version of Volvo's definitive load-lugger was registered in August 1993, making it one of the last to be built - with the SE tag denoting a Special Equipment runout edition. The vendor believes that these 'last of the lines' were sold to Volvo agents, which may account for one of the three former registered keepers noted on the V5C. The car is a 1986cc fuel-injected model with five-speed manual gearbox, electric windows, electric door mirrors, power steering and heated blue cloth seats. Its odometer reading is 117,867 although the vendor tells us it stopped working in 2012. However, with its regular but limited use since then, he now estimates it's around the 150,000-mile mark. The present vendor has owned the car since January 2008, and there's a full history of all work done since then. These include an alternator repair in November 2020 (£118), a new exhaust, two silencers and two pipes in September 2019 (£243) and a clutch and bearing in August 2017 (£345). The MoT is valid until May 2022; advisories noted were that both headlamp reflectors were slightly defective and there was windscreen damage, albeit not affecting the view. This referred to a one-inch diameter crack low on the nearside. The car is in generally good condition (especially the interior) and drives well. Issues noted include the wires broken at the boot hinge, so the rear wiper, heated rear screen and hatch central locking don't work. There's some missing trim from the rear bumper, although the clips remain. Minor rust is appearing along the bottom of some of the doors as well as at the bottom of the rear offside wheel arch. Inside, the heater fan is noisy, which is presumed to be down to worn bearings meaning the fan is rubbing on the housing. Three pairs of keys are included, as well as a Haynes workshop manual and the radio code. The car is also fitted with a tow bar, for any extra loads that can't be swallowed by its very commodious rear. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 2ND NOVEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1984 Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Auto Series 3Make: JaguarModel: XJ6 Year: 1984Mileage: 98000VIN: 385153Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: automatic This 1984 Jaguar XJ6 Series 3, in smart Antelope bronze with pepperpot alloys, was imported from South Africa in 2018, after being owned by a classic car hire place. However it wasn't registered here, so is thus still on South African plates. The NOVA process has been completed but the car still needs a British registration allocated to it. The vendor describes it as 'running and driving spot-on'. The recorded mileage is 98,172. Aside from the South African registration document, there is little paperwork to accompany the car. Thanks to coming from a country with a somewhat more hospitable climate than the UK, this Jaguar is very well-preserved, inside and out. The only significant flaw on the bodywork is some touch-up paint on the peak of the inner nearside headlamp, while inside, the cream leather interior is in very good order. There is some cracking to the wood on the doors, but that on the dash still looks good.PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 7TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1997 Volvo 940 Celebration EstateMake: Volvo Model: 940 Celebration Year: 1997Mileage: 81565VIN: YV1945811W1229537Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R790PNNTransmission: manualThe 940 Celebration was a last-of-the-line model built to mark the passing of Volvo's traditional rear-wheel drive big four-cylinder estates, as the marque switched to front-wheel drive. Only available in estate form and with a host of extra equipment, it cost a hefty £18,425 on the road. Powered by the 2.3-litre light pressure turbo engine, the spec featured metallic paint, colour co-ordinated bumpers, sports grille, roof rails and 15-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there was half-leather upholstery, wood trim, air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, leather steering wheel, RDS radio cassette player, headlamp wash/wipers, ABS brakes, electrically-heated front seats and adjustable door mirrors. This example, in Blackberry Metallic with black cloth/grey leather interior, was registered in November 1997. Its odometer shows 81,565 miles (which is largely confirmed by the available history), and it has had three former keepers. Its MoT has only recently expired, in October of this year. Aside from the current V5C, the paperwork includes the original Volvo booklet wallet, with owner's manual, service book (stamped up 76,102 miles in 2014) and dealer network guide. The selection of invoices date from the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, as do the pair of MoT certificates. The Volvo's interior is in very good order; with little wear to the seats, nice wood, and no lifting of the vinyl covering on the door cappings (which often affects 900-series cars). Ripspeed tread plates are fitted in the door apertures, The exterior displays stone chips on the bonnet, and there are also areas of wear and flatness in the paint. Corrosion is evident on the nearside door mirror base and offside front wheel arch, which is holed. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 7TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1986 Honda VFR 400Make: Honda Model: VFR400Year: 1986Mileage: 41918VIN: NC211008357Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: C110PRNTransmission: manualThis 399cc Honda VFR400 is described by the vendor as being a 'lovely bike' that 'rides well'. First registered in 1986, it came to the UK in 1997, with the V5C recording six former registered keepers. The paperwork file includes an MoT certificate from April 2008, as well as details of the test failure in July 2021, with major defects being listed as: nearside front brake hose excessively damaged, rear shock absorber having negligible damping, headlamp aim too low, rear position lamp light intensity significantly reduced, and front brake disc contaminated. Advisories are for the front tyre with small cracks on the sidewall, the front brake disc worn but not excessively, and the offside front shock absorber having a light misting of oil. The odometer shows 41,918km covered, and there is a spare key.

1988 Lotus Esprit TurboMake: Lotus Model: Esprit Turbo Year: 1988Mileage: 39962VIN: SCC082910JHD13051Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: E21BNMTransmission: manualAfter the launch of the Giugario-designed Esprit in 1976, the next major development was the introduction of turbocharging in 1980, initially in the Essex Turbo Esprit. In 1987, the very angular Esprit was redesigned by Peter Stevens - later to pen the McLaren F1 - with a shape that closely followed Giugario's lines, but added a few softer, more rounded edges. This striking red 2174cc Esprit Turbo is one of the Stevens models, and was registered in April 1988. Its MoT is valid until October 2022. The vendor tells us that it had three former keepers before being purchased by Cooper Hirst Auctions in 1998, with the title transferred its owner Richard Hirst. Unfortunately, all its documentation was destroyed in 2008 when there was a fire at the auction house's premises in Chelmsford. However, a letter from Richard Hirst's son in 2017, included in the paperwork, states that he believes the car was regularly serviced when in use, and had a history supporting this. It spent around nine years in dry storage, while under Hirst ownership. After the vendor acquired the Lotus in 2017, it has mainly been SORN in dry storage. The mileage - currently reading 39,962 - is believed to be correct, but can't be warranted. Included in the paperwork folder is the current V5C, correspondence between Richard Hirst's son and the vendor (including some photocopies of newspaper reports regarding the Chelmsford fire), and recent bills such as work to renew the pop-up headlamp mechanism (£394.38 in September 2021) and a new radiator, shock absorber and brake parts, plus other sundry items (£1794.00 in March 2018) and headlamps (£342 in 2016). There's also 2008, 2016 and 2018 MoT certificates plus Kenwood CD player instructions. While the body shows some signs of age, and there's some wear to the beige leather interior, overall the Lotus presents well. The driver's seat has lost some of its support, and the driver's external door handle can be temperamental. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1973 Jensen Interceptor III AutoMake: Jensen Model: Interceptor IIIYear: 1973Mileage: 45045VIN: 13618095Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: 739JGWTransmission: automaticThe Jensen Interceptor MkIII was introduced in 1971 as an updated variant of the S2 that included a revised front grille, headlamp finishers and bumper treatment. GKN alloy wheels and air conditioning were standard, and there were also revised seats. Under the bonnet, the mighty 6.3-litre V8 engine was superseded by the even mightier 7.2-litre V8. Registered in January 1973, the vendor tells us that this Interceptor, in blue with beige leather interior, was restored and then placed into dry storage for 29 years. Recent work since it re-emerged has included an aluminium fuel tank (£799.95). The odometer reading is now 45,045 miles. The paperwork folder includes the current V5C, recording six former keepers, plus several invoices for recent work. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
