Lot 61

A small group of 18th to 20th century Chinese and Samson porcelains. Including two small blue and white vases with four character Kangxi marks to base, a turquoise ground bowl decorated with butterflies and fruits with six character Guangxu mark to base, two 18th century famille rose teabowls gilt and decorated with figures, and a Samson teabowl gilt and decorated with flowers. Vases H12.8cm. Condition Report: One of the vases has a hairline crack around the rim. Both have some light pitting, rubbing to the bases and would benefit from a clean. Overall in good condition with bright colours, minor wear and no obvious restoration. All of the bowls have rubbing and losses to the decoration, small areas of pitting and signs of general wear including scratches and marks. The pink bowl has multiple chips to the rim and a hairline crack. The pair of bowls have multiple chips to the rims and one has a large hairline crack. The largest bowl has an uneven rim and a very small chip but is overall in good condition.

A near pair of Chinese blue and white ginger jars, 19th century, both decorated with a fishing village near the shore, approx 17 cms h (af), near pair of onion vases with reticulated handles, decorated with peony and chrysanthemum approx 19 cms h (af), blue and white baluster vase, 19th century, decorated with two figures carrying a temple vase, Kangxi marks to base, approx 18 cms and an 18th century blue and white baluster vase decorated with flowers, approx 20 cms together with two spurious ginger jar covers.  - Condition Report The one ginger jar has a vertical hairline crack and signs of crazing. The other is in good condition. The first onion vase has a significant loss to the rim and one of the handles. The other is in reasonable condition with two small areas of enamel loss to the rim interior, area of loss to the top of the reticulated handle, the baluster vase in in good overall condition with some fritting to the base rim but no major issues, The baluster vase has losses to the rim. One of the ginger jar covers has a crack across the top.

A pair of Chinese Kangxi "Vung Tau Cargo" bowls and saucers with panels of hatched foliage and flowers, bearing patched ribbon tied lozenge mark to base within blue concentric rings, 11 cm x 6.5 cm, saucer 16 cm diameter, together with three various Chinese polychrome decorated saucers and a Japanese Satsuma figural decorated saucer (8) CONDITION REPORTS Both saucers from the Vung Tau Cargo have hairline cracks and some chips to the undersides. Both bowls also have significant hairline cracks. All bear old Christies labels, are dirty and in need of a clean. The polychrome decorated saucer with the birds and floral sprays has hairline cracks and chips. The Imari palette smaller saucer has been broken in half and repaired as well as repairs elsewhere in the saucer. Has chips throughout. The saucer with the figures has some roughness to the edge, has significant wear to the inside and the Satsuma saucer has a star crack to the base and some light wear to the decoration throughout. All have wear and tear conducive with age and use to include firing faults etc and are in need of a good clean - see images for more details
