A magnificent, aristocratic liqueur bar, spherical in shape, made of Baccarat glass in a gilded bronze case, Belle Epoque period. It is a unique ensemble of 4 decanters and 16 conical glasses of the finest glass with lace vine decoration. Placed on a gilded tray, they form the core of a glass sphere with a bell-shaped lid on a hinged mechanism. The original stopper ensures reliable fixation of the lid at any angle. The through motif of a grapevine, frosted etched glass, is effectively complemented by gilded bronze details, combining the delicate fragility and power of a festive representation. Gilded belts with two lion mascarons holding ring-handles in the mouth rest on a pedestal of four lion paws. A wonderful and irreplaceable attribute of a guest room, leisurely conversation, and an aristocratic lifestyle. Baccarat. Late 19th century. Closed dimensions. Height: 37 cm. Diameter: 30 cm. Rare, Russian, silver icon of Archangel Raphael, painted, cloisonne and champleve enamels. Probably a complex, private order, presumably executed by the factory master P. Ovchinnikov. Intimate and at the same time festive, the breastplate bears a half-length image of Archangel Raphilus with holy scripture in his hands. The gentle face and folds of the Archangels clothes are subtly depicted in the shimmering purity of silver, affirming the sacred purity and holiness of the heavenly powers. The high reliquary fields of the icon and its reverse side are decorated in accordance with the neo-Russian style of the 19th century - a triangular pattern alternating with foliage and a cross with Gothic curls around the flowers. The eyelet for the lace, on a turning loop, is also decorated with belts of cloisonne and champleve enamel. A charming monument to Russian style and spiritual purity of pre-revolutionary Russia at the end of the 19th century. 6.2x3.8 cm. Weight: 54 g. Width: 3.8cm, Height: 6.2cm, Depth: 0.7cm, Weight: 0.054kg, Condition: Good, Material: Enamel
The romantic landscape of the school of Julius Yulievich Klever WINTER EVENING IN A VILLAGE, richly and sweepingly demonstrates the atmosphere of a pre-sunset, snowy evening, where a traveler hurries to the comfort and warmth of home. Sunset Light spills across the canvas. It captivates with the high golden distances and the lights of the blazing sunset. They seem to outline the silhouette of the hut and separate the purple lace of the snow. The center of the composition and saving comfort is the house, with its red dot of the window and the smoke of the burning stove. Canvas, cardboard, oil. 50 x 36.5 cm. Follower of Sir Godfrey Kneller (1646-1743)A portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter length standing, before a draped curtain and pillar, wearing a powdered wig, a white lace cravat, and decorative armourOil on canvas, 125cm by 99.5cmThe painting has a fairly old lining, with a stretcher keyed far out. Several missing keys, but the canvases have fair tension. The original tacking margins have been removed, and the painting has been filled out and retouched to the top and bottom edges (the sides are covered so can't be seen). There is a slight distortion to the top left corner, possibly where it is coming away from the lining canvas. Slight movement in frame has left some white abraded surface layers at the very edges of the painting. There is a large old filled and retouched 'C' shaped tear measuring approx. 20cm x 9cm running through the extended finger and below through the drapery. There is a finescale brittle age craquelure throughout, and there are some minor patches of micro-flaking associated with this (see images) in the background, and futher old minor patches of flaking to the bottom edge. Mostly secure. There are scattered old minor filled and retouched losses throughout, but especially at the bottom edge, one in the bottom left corner, and in the sky top right. There is an old unretouched damage to the canvas to the lower left edge 30cm up.There has been some abrasion to the upper paint layers, particularly in the darker areas of the drapery, and around the pale drapery at the shoulder (see images). There is a line of spotty brown material around the long locks of hair, possibly associated with abrasion or old mould growth. Appears to be in a reddish brown layer of possible overpaint or damaged original paint (see images). There is old ingrained dirt and varnish, and at least two old varnish layers, one of which has been removed from the face and pale drapery. The varnish layers are now slighly cloudy, with wipe marks visible in torch light. There are minor scuffs and scratches to the varnish, and a pair of drip marks approx. 10cm long to the background mid-left. Examined in frame.

British School (19th Century) Portrait of a lady, half-length seated, wearing a white dress and a black cap decorated with flowers Oil on canvas, 65cm by 62cm The picture is lined. All keys present, but the canvas is slightly slack. There is an undulation/corner draw top right, and a lesser undulation bottom right. There is a 2 inch dent in the bottom right quadrant, with a little associated flaking and paint loss. There are small unrestored losses at all edges, and a patch of ground at the top edge. There has been widespread alligatoring, especially at all edges. This is associated with drying problems of the original materials used, the paint having retracted to leave wide cracks which have possibly been opened further with cleaning in the past. These have been partially suppressed by retouching in the past. The central portions of the portrait are less cracked. There are small scratches, unrestored, top left quatrant, and a 1.5inch scuff mid right. There are dark surface accretions and flyspots in the lighter passages of paint, white spotty accretions in the darks, and slight abrasion to the white of the headress and the black lace neckline. There is uneven, patcy grey/ingrained dirt and varnish to the face, and a yellowed upper varnish.
