A mid-18th century walnut and burr walnut chest (formally lower section of chest-on-chest), having a four-quarter veneered and crossbanded top above a brushing slide and three long graduated crossbanded drawers, w.102cm, d.53cm, h.83cmStands well.Drawers run smoothly.Colour of top is lighter.With age related knocks and marks throughout.Some small repairs to veneers and losses to beading.

§ Albert Houthuesen (1903-1979) - Peonies, palette knife oil on canvas, signed and dated 'III·30·1938' lower left, 46 x 71cmCanvas is good and taut.Paint is stable.Some crazing visible to lighter areas.Very small paint chip right centre.Stain visible to reverse, possibly where has been removed and cleaned.Some slight frame rub to edges of the canvas.
Julian Trevelyan (1910-1988) - The Plough (1976), etching and aquatint in colours, signed, titled and numbered '53/150' in pencil to the lower margin, visible sheet dimensions 35 x 46.5cmColours appear generally good.The sheet has a wave to it and is discoloured, most noticeably to the margins.There are some lighter areas to the top left corner where the sheet has possibly touched the glass, and less intensely in a few further places.

A SET OF STAUNTON CHESSMEN In boxwood and ebony, with weighted bases, the kings standing approx. 8.5cm in height, the knights and castles marked with crown device to tops, the bases of all pieces stamped "GLCC", for Glasgow Ladies' Chess Club, housed in an associated pine box Condition Report:Note: one black bishop differs slightly in design from the other bishops in this set. It is also slightly lighter than the others. This is likely a replacement piece, though is marked "GLCC" to base, consistent with the other pieces.

Lebadang (Vietnamese/French 1921-2015) § Lebadang (Vietnamese/French 1921-2015), A Vase of Flowers, signed and dated 'Lebadang / 56' (lower left), gouache, 65 x 50.5cm; together with four unframed signed lithographs, the smallest, 65 x 50cm; 76 x 55cm, the largest (5)Orange horse rider - Margins toned and discoloured, the discolouration patchy in places, particularly along the the top and the left hand margin with a pale streak of approx 30cm running vertically from the top edge. The top left hand corner with a small sticker reading 'No.85' attached. One or two small dark accretions and a scattering of very minor foxing spots. The edges and corners with creases and knocks throughout. The image appears in good overall condition.Green River Landscape - Margins toned and discoloured throughout and with various liquid stains located to the upper and lower edges. The margins with various creases, the most notable of which are on the lower edge (approx 12cm) and on the left hand side of the top edge (approx 5cm). In addition to the liquid stains, there are various scattered minor spots and blemishes in all margins. The image appears in good overall condition.Blue Boat Landscape - Margins very toned throughout. Margins with various handling creases, a deeper crease along the top hand edge (approx 13cm), and various grubby marks throughout. The image in good overall condition.Green Boaters - Margins slightly toned, the surface with slight undulation and some minor creases. There is a smudge around the size of a thumb print through the 'g' of the signature, and with some other small marks, in the margins, but overall quite good. The image in good condition.Flowers in a Vase (watercolour) - The margins a little toned and discoloured. Two deep creases run horizontally across the margins of the top and bottom edges and with some other lighter handling creases throughout. There are various paint marks and smudges to the margins, likely occurring during the creation of the work. There are some very fine drying cracks in small areas where paint has been most thickly applied. Otherwise in good condition.
