Lone Star, Cap Guns - A boxed Lone Star 'Luger Presentation Set'. The toy cap gun set comprises of a chrome plated Lone Star "Luger" cap pistol with black checkered grips, Lone Star "Special Agent Derringer cap pistol a 'Special Agent' badge, plus three two-piece play bullets. Both pistols show signs of play and use but generally appear to be in Excellent overall condition. The set is presented within a wood grained effect lift off lid box, with red moulded velvet lined interior which has a small stain to the bottom left and a couple of small cracks around the pistols. The lid has some small scuffs to the interior. The box overall appears to be in Very Good condition with some scuffing and general storage wear.
Lone Star, Crescent, Cap Guns - A collection of three boxed vintage toy cap guns. Lot includes Crescent Ricochet 'Frontier Ace'; Lone Star 'Scout' repeater; and Lone Star 'Captain Cutlass' Buccaneer Pirate Pistol. Cap guns show signs of play and use and appear to range in Condition between Fair Plus - Good with signs of wear and some corrosion. All appear to function, though some mechanisms appear stiff. Boxes appear to be in Poor - Fair condition with general wear and storage imperfections.
Lone Star, Cap Guns - Four carded / boxed vintage toy cap guns. Lot includes a boxed Lone Star #324 'Ramrod' Western revolver which appears Mint in an Excellent box with some taping and minor crushing; a boxed #348 'super Cowboy' Western Revolver in mInt condition in an Excellent box with some taping and a small hole to top; a carded #427 'Frontier Ace' 100 Shot Repeater on Good unopened blister pack with creasing and wear; and a #438/439 'Texas Rapido 8' appears Mint on opened but overall Good blister card with some wear.

T. B. Pardoe. 2/Bn. A.I.F.) very fine £140-£180 --- Thomas Benton Pardoe was born in Ladysmith, South Africa, in 1879 and attested for the Australian Imperial Force at Randwick, New South Wales, on 28 August 1914. Posted to the 2nd Infantry Battalion Headquarters, he embarked from Sydney on 14 October 1914. He served with the Battalion at Gallipoli, and was wounded by a bullet to the head during the opening stages of the campaign, his medical record giving the date 25-30 April 1915. After a spell in hospital he recovered sufficiently to take part in the Battle of Lone Pine, 6-10 August 1915- of the 22 Officer and 560 other ranks from the Battalion who started the attack, 21 officers ands 409 other ranks were either killed or wounded. After further service on the Western Front, including the Third Battle of Ypres, where he was subjected to the German mustard gas attack, Pardoe returned to Australia on 5 November 1918 ,and was discharged on 26 February 1919. He died of asthma in 1938, from which he had suffered since the Great War, an ailment almost certainly attributed to his having been exposed to mustard gas. Sold with copied research.
dating: 1861 - 1865 provenance: USA, Black hat (diameter 41 cm). Brimmed up, with brass Lone Star on the front (width 68 mm) fixed inside with four hooks. Yellow cavalry hatcord, ostrich feather fixed with Confederate eagle officer’s button and backmarked EXTRA RICH TREBLE GILT. Various signs of use and time and small damages. Missing internal part. Internal dimensions 20.5 x 17 cm. height circa 15,5 cm.
dating: Second half of the 19th Century provenance: USA, Composite set with a belt (86 x 4 cm). Brass snake buckle is English import. Cap box (small part missing on the cover) with brass Texas Lone Star (5 cm). Together with a knife (30 cm) with single-edged blade and grip covered with leather bands. The leather is heavily worn but still pliable and in good condition. See a similar specimen of Lone Star portrayed on page 419 of the book “TEXAS CIVIL WAR ARTIFACTS” by R. M. Ahlstrom. height max 32,5 cm.
dating: Second half of the 19th Century provenance: USA, Composite set with belt (86 x 2.5 cm). Holster for a revolver of big dimensions. Cap box with brass Texas Lone Star (5 cm). Together with a knife (42.5 cm) with single-and false-edged blade with pitting, iron quillon and deer horn grip; the relative scabbard with belt frog from a bayonet or short sword. Leather with signs of use, but still pliable. See an example of Lone Star pictured on page 419 of the volume “TEXAS CIVIL WAR ARTIFACTS” by R. M. Ahlstrom. A similar knife is portrayed in the same volume on page 337. height holster 38,5 cm.
