Three other pieces with small losses.
An interesting pair of Vases, c.1600, each of exaggerated baluster form and painted in underglaze blue in three registers with a central band of bamboo, peony, rocks and chrysanthemum, the foot with rocks and breaking waves, and the shoulders with three florets reserved on key-fret, the neck with false gadroons, one with discoloration at lute line, 15cm, paper labels (2) The RHRP Collection label is that of Reginald Howard Reed Palmer MC, DL (1898-1970) one of the foremost collectors of his day. He started collecting in 1924 and exhibited widely. He began selling in 1962 and, following several sales after his death, 19 early blue and white porcelains were sold in Hong Kong. This fits with the present owner`s recollection that her parents bought the vases there around that time. A Bats (fu) Bowl, mark and probably period of Guangxu (1875-1908), of rounded form painted all over with red bats on a yellow ground, six character mark in underglaze blue, rim chip restored, 14cm, and a Bowl, enamelled wtih eight auspicious signs of Buddhism beneath a key-fret border, six character red seal mark of Kangxi, 16cm (2) A narcissus bowl of the same pattern is illustrated in `From the Dragon`s Treasure`, Gunhild Avatibile, 1987, no. 104. ???(??) ???????? ??®??????¯??? ? ?????? ??®??????¯??? ????, Bats bowl - there is a 4cm section of rim restored, a hairline crack issuing from the base of restoration running 6cm into the bowl. A pair of famille rose Vases, late 19th century, each painted with the Three Heroes of the Han Dynasty between moulded iron oxide chilong, ruyi and Buddhist lion handles, frilled mouth, incised four character Chenghua mark on a tablet, 36.6cm (2) ?????? ??????????????????????? ®????¯?, One vase`s handle with Buddhist lion tail missing, the other handle with tips to tail missing. One section of chilong tail missing. The other vase with the tips of the tails of both Buddhist lion handles missing. One chilong missing rear leg.

An unusual Incense Burner and Cover, late 19th/early 20th century, the body cast with dragons and gilt pearls, the sides with ruyi sceptre handles and on three mask and paw feet, the pierced cover with gilt Buddhist lion knop, the body with an overall robin`s-egg glaze, handles restored, 21.5cm (2) ??????/????? ????????????????????, Both ruyi handles restored.
A Chinese ornamental jade Group, late Qing dynasty, carved in 18th century style with a vessel amongst leafy branches of Buddha`s finger citron with large and small fruits, and with a feng perched on a lingzhi, the head turned back and biting on a branch of peach, the stone of green-grey tone with russet speckling, one chip, 16.5cm, silver wire-inlaid hardwood stand (2) This scholar`s desk object may have originally had a cover on the vase - or it may have been intended as a brush pot. ?? ????????, Chip to one frond of a fruit tendril, a hairline inclusion running laterally through the base of the carving. Vessel probably lacking a cover. Brown discolouration. Some slight abrasions and some sharp edges. Stand has missing end section and large deposits of soft composition (possibly to stick jade to stand). Possibly some old repairs, but hard to tell.

One bell with small corner section missing. One bell with clapper intact. All items with encrustations.

An unusual bronze utsubata, c.1885,the disc-form well with chilung on a diaper ground, the base with lambrequins and resting on the back of three elephants, their saddle cloth with a dragon and the maker`s mark, 18cm high, 25cm diameter , 6.5 x 0.7cm split to rim, some verde gris and de-patination, one pair of tusks mis-shapen.
