Although some tomb-robbing was evident, it remains the best preserved and most complete tomb in the Valley of the Kings.News of Carter's discoveries - which consisted not only of the mummified pharaoh himself, but also a wealth of decorative objects and furniture that were kept with him for use in the afterlife - quickly spread, resulting in a resurgence in popularity for all things Egyptian.Harry Burton, the only photographer granted access to the tomb and whose archive is held by the Griffith Institute at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, made it possible to circulate images of what they found. This is a copy of models the team discovered, which are illustrated and discussed in Hollis S Baker, 'Furniture in the Ancient World', London, 1966, pp.75-84.

Leather Bound Surgery Record Books, Hugh Donovan, Colection of 3 Operation record books for Hugh Donovan, each detailing all of the operation he undertook mostly in the 1950's, leather bound ledgers 2 with splits to spines Hugh Donovan, M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.S., was a British surgeon in the mid-20th century. His career combined surgical practice, teaching, and contributions to medical literature. Donovan’s medical education culminated in his earning the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, followed by a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.). This qualification underscored his surgical proficiency and dedication to the highest standards of medical practice. His clinical journey brought him to Birmingham General Hospital, where he honed his skills as a surgeon and contributed significantly to the hospital’s reputation for excellence in patient care and medical education. At Birmingham General Hospital, Donovan established himself not only as a skilled practitioner but also as a mentor and educator. During this time, he became deeply involved in pioneering efforts to enhance surgical techniques and improve patient outcomes. His colleagues and students revered him for his meticulous approach to surgery and his commitment to advancing medical knowledge. The hospital served as a hub for his clinical and academic endeavors, and his work there cemented his reputation as a leading figure in the field. Donovan’s contributions extended beyond the operating room. He was an active researcher and author, regularly publishing in leading medical journals. Among his notable works was "The Back-pressure Kidney," an insightful article published in the British Medical Journal in 1942. This study reflected his analytical approach to medical challenges and his ability to address complex clinical issues with clarity and precision. His writings contributed to the broader understanding of surgical and pathological phenomena, earning him recognition among peers. Tragically, Donovan’s career was cut short with his untimely death, noted in the British Medical Journal in January 1960. His passing marked the loss of a surgeon whose contributions had advanced the field significantly. Colleagues remembered him for his intellectual rigor, dedication to patient care, and impact on the surgical community.

The lens rehousing features both focus and iris gears as well as a BNCR lens mount and PL combination mount that enables the use of this lens on both PL and BNCR mount cameras. The front diameter of this lens is 98mm. THE MAGIC OF SUPER BALTAR LENSES: Produced by optical giant Bausch & Lomb, Super Baltar lenses are legendary among today's discerning cinematographers. Super Baltars have been used to create the look of everything from Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" to Ron Howard's "Rush"-- not to mention both "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part II" in between. Produced from the 1950's into the 1970's, Super Baltar lenses are prized for their high contrast, unique flare and beautiful, warm fleshtones. Modern-day cinematographers have discovered that combining vintage glass like Super Baltar lenses with today's HD digital sensors produces beautiful results. This "old school" meets "new school" approach creates an organic, "filmic" image that simply cannot be achieved with today's computer-designed lenses. The image starts with the glass, and you'll find no better starting point than the cobalt glass used in the creation of Super Baltar optics.
