A cased pair of ballet slippers worn by the noted ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn (1919-1991), the peach silk slippers signed in red ink verso, housed in a glazed display case, provenance: with a letter from Margot Fonteyn on her own private headed paper reading as follows and dated 12th October, "Dear Mr Summa, your cheque for the Royal Academy of Dancing came as a delightful and generous surprise. Thank you very much indeed for such kindness. The academy is going through a crisis but I am hopeful that we may be finding a solution now. In any case, it will certainly continue as so many teachers depend upon its activities to help them in their profession. Your goodwill is very encouraging. Yours sincerely, Margot Fonteyn de Arias." TWO 18CT GOLD WEDDING BANDS, one with engraved floral decoration, 5.4g, the other plain, 8.6g (2)The plain wedding band is size T/U. No signs of resizing. It does have hallmarks. They read MS&S for the maker, 18CT stamp, the third hallmark is worn so I cannot tell you where it is from but the year is 1970/71The floral ring is size P, again has hallmarks, maker B.B. 18CT stamp, Anchor for Birmingham and then an r for the year 1891/1892. Looking at it closely there is a very faint line on inside and looking at the outside the pattern is different around that line, it looks like the joiner has added an additional flower to try and cover up the join.
