NAO; a large ceramic figure of a jester and a lute, height 34cm, with a D'Art Spanish group of a clown and a dog (2).Condition Report: Some crazing to the glaze on the paws of the dog, and other areas of this figure, there is a hairline crack to the back of the base of the clown figure, the other figure in good condition.

Wermuth beer (which was flavoured with bitter wormwood) was thought to have health benefits. Condition Report: Overall in good order. Some very, very minor wear to enamels.

A 19th Century gilt metal mantel clock, Maurice Marx, Paris, with twin-train movement, Roman numerals and decorated a figure of a maiden with cast cherub playing a lute to the frieze, on acanthus capped scrolled feet, 48.5cm high CONDITION REPORT: Clock has been re-gilded, some mounts slighty loose, clock currently in working order.

The celestial figure standing elegantly on her two bird legs, gracefully playing the lute, her wings extended, a feather dress forming her tail, the hair tied in a high chignon, framing her serene face. The figure mounted on a square base and adorned with archaistic patterns.Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, and areas of malachite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. FELIX MENDELSSOHN INTEREST; a yellow metal ruby and diamond brooch centred with a portrait of a woman wearing a hat, beneath a lute and horn pierced border, unmarked, diameter 2.8cm, approx. 8.3g, accompanying the brooch is a letter dated 1939 beginning 'Dear Miss Moses, I am glad that the brooch I sent you gave you pleasure. Dr Moses no doubt told you of its connection with the Mendelssohn family, it belonged to a daughter of Felix before it came to me and I felt that a musician would therefore doubtly appreciate it.....'
M. GOODMAN (fl. early 20th century) - A pair of ornately gilt-framed and glazed late 19th century prints with hand colouring; one depicting a young boy playing a lute with his female companion playing a zither, the other depicting children dancing with their mothers looking on within an Edwardian-style interior. The latter signed and dated M. Goodman '99. Each with ornate gilt frames in high Rococo style with C-scrolls, acanthus and other similar ornament (print sizes 52.5cm x 70.5cm).

Jacques Callot (1592-1635) - Le Combat a la Barrière / Description: From a series of ten plates representing floats and indoor fights. The plate was engraved for Humbert's 'Le Combat à la barrière' (Nancy 1627),for the festivities given for the Duchess of Chevreuse in Nancy, 14 February 1627. It is very likely that the artist took part in the organization of the different entries and the elaboration of designs for the floats.c ------------------------ The entry of De Vroncourt, Tyllon and Marimont: two floats in the shape of dolphins, going to the right; on the back of the first dolphin sits a musician playing lute; three men in classical armour stand on the back of the second, and largest, dolphin; two ships in the distance. / Dimensions: 14,80 x 22,20 cm / Condition: Excellent good contrasted early impressions of this extremely rare plate with full plate border and tread margins. A Frankenthal group of two putti, dated 1771, modelled by J W Lanz, one putto playing a lute, the Rococo base with bright gilding, 19cm high, crowned CT monogram mark in underglaze blue and 71/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: One putto lacking implement in hands, one putto with restoration to the end of his lute and chipped to tip of implement in his right hand, chipping to footrim of base. A Continental serpentine fronted gilt metal and enamelled jewellery cabinet, the central enamelled panel decorated with a maiden playing a lute, height 14cm, width 8cm.Condition Report: Light wear, scratches and scuffs to the gilt metal but good condition. Losses and two small hair line cracks to the enamel around the key hole. Door does open / close and lock but needs some coaxing to close.
