HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN (2004) - US Lenticular One-Sheet Printer's Proof, 2004Bidding for this lot will end on Thursday 30th May. The auction will begin at 2:00PM BST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Harry Potter's heroic godfather, Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), is depicted on this incredibly rare (possibly a one-off) concept design One-Sheet prototype that Warner Bros never issued. In a brilliant marketing ploy, Warner's created this poster to mimic the "Wanted" posters used in the movie itself. What was exciting about those was that you could see Sirius laughing with insanity on the poster. Warners tried duplicating a motion effect here using the lenticular printing process. As one moves back and forth before this poster, the image of Black begins to disappear and then reappears. After creating only six of these full-size prototypes at a facility in Michigan, Warner's decided that it was too expensive to put them into full production, so the project was dropped. The example being offered has alternative lettering to the six that are known, and we believe this to be an early design (it is dated 22nd August 2003) that, although produced (note the printer's colour bars running vertically down the right side of the image) never went into full production. It should be noted, and to avoid confusion, that this is not the small-sized lenticular produced in multiple numbers for the lobby standees. If you're a Harry Potter fan and collector, then this is the poster for you and probably the rarest of any lenticular poster produced.30" x 42" (76 x 107 cm)Condition: Fine+Some small areas of plastic loss around the border but the main image remains unaffected save some very light scattered scratching.Artist: Unknown Artist£3000 - 6000VAT Status: M

To achieve this production art, the black outlines were transferred from the animator's original drawing onto an acetate cel and then the colours were hand-painted on the reverse. The artwork was finally placed over an artist's background, reproduced directly from original art. It comes mounted within a black frame with acrylic and features a hanging wire on the reverse. The cel is autographed in black ink by the co-founders of Hanna-Barbera, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, and bears the studio seal in the lower right corner. The lot is accompanied by a Hanna-Barbera Animation Art certificate of authenticity and a Warner Bros Animation Art care guide.(Framed): 19.75" x 16.75" x 1" (50 x 43 x 2.5 cm)Additional Information: Signed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera.
