AN INTERESTING 19TH CENTURY TRIBAL CEREMONIAL DAGGER, 20.5cm heart-shaped blade, 14.5cm wide at the base, inlaid in brass with a star over a crescent moon, further inlaid with three brass bordered panels infilled with etched calligraphy, this mirrored on the opposing side, wood and horn grip, together with five worn machete or choppers. Worn and with faults. (6)
A GERMAN DECORATIVE IRON HATCHET, 20TH CENTURY, A CONTINENTAL INFANTRY SWORD AND A MACHETE the first perhaps an apprentice piece, with broad single-edged blade struck with the bladesmith~s mark, an anvil charged with the letter ~B~, on one face, writhen iron hilt incorporating a scrolling guard and a large ring for suspension; the second with slightly curved blade (now seized in its scabbard) and brass stirrup hilt with integral banded grip, in its scabbard (worn); the third with robust broad blade, brass guard and blackened grip, in its scabbard; and a Spanish commemorative sword, Bareclona, dated 1992, and with the Olympics motif at the forte the first: 23.5 cm; 9 1/4 in blade (4)

Full tang, neutral non maker marked 25cm x 7.5cm across belly, billhook blade with sharpened edge. At 40cm the billhook was a standard artillery clearance tool for service between WW2 & the Vietnam War.

Features aluminium metal riveted grips. 19.5cm long makers stamped blade, with hook canopy breaker end of the factory sharpened edge. Dark brown leather scabbard with leather leg straps has missing the hilt strap grip fastener. Scabbard back stamped 1944 SYDNEY JE broad arrow.

Features wooden grips with 2 steel screw pins, cleaned brass hammer flat face pommel and guard. 40.7cm large bright bowie blade, carries the Alex Coppel Alexanderwerks AWS scales logo & ALCOSO over Solingen trademark. Front edge has been field sharpened. Comes with well blued steel scabbard with traces of yellow letters and 1942 date, missing one throat screw. These 53cm long machetes were part of the aircrew survival packs in aircraft such as the Heinkell-111 and as such are extremely rare & highly collectable.

Blade, 25.5cm from hilt, maker stamped CAMILLUS. Full extended length 40cm. Protective black painted metal blade sheaths cover the sharpened blades of both machetes.
Survival machete (folding). These were used by the US Air Force during WWII and by the RAF late into WWII. It was last procured by the RAF in 1951, the apparent difference between the British and American Versions is the British has a lanyard ring fitted. This example does not. See Page 110 British and Commonwealth Military Knives by Ron Flook. The blade is difficult to open.
WW2 British & Commonwealth Forces issue Machete with 37cm long blade maker marked and dated "Legitimus Collins & Co, Made in USA.No. 1250 1940", Black bakelite grip with U and Broadarrow Union of South African inspection marking. Overall length 49.5cm. Complete with brown leather scabbard, again Union of South African inspection marking along with maker mark and date for "Robco Ltd, Montreal, 1942".
