The crown is in good order. The bolt is filthy and needs a good cleaning throughout. The action functions correctly and positively with .22LR snap caps and is marked .22RLR The safety catch can be a bit stiff to operate depending upon how tightly the folding sight is screwed down. The rifle retains most of its original bluing, there is the odd surface corrosion spot dotted around. Some screw heads show signs of wear from being worked. The stock has lots of dents and marks typical of a military rifle, there are no splits or repairs. There is a vacant hole to the woodwork close to the magazine well.

There are no other damages to the stock, just some dents, scratches and marks from usage. The metal finish is generally good all over with some small wear patches but most original blue remaining. There are some fresh corrosion spots dotted around. The case is tired dirty and shows signs of a hard working life. One leather strap is missing, the other is perishing in places.
