dating: 17th/18th Century provenance: Indopersia, Two large, convex, rectangular iron plates at the front side, each one with two buckles. Two plates also on the sides. Five rows of scales on the backplate, some damaged by time and use. The peculiarity of this armour is that the whole mail neck-defense is made up of very small rings with riveted closure, a sign of great quality. Few missing parts. Mounted on a mannequin provided with a red jacket. height 80 cm.
dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Koboshi-bachi Kabuto with 14 heavy plates featuring raised edge and thick studs. Replaced Tehen-kanamono. Shikoro with three black-lacquered iron plates (the Fukigaeshi mounts replaced later), finishing with missing parts. Brass Maedate with remains of gilding and and openwork decoration, held to the Mabizashi only by a tab at the back. Ryubu-type Men-yoroi made of iron, with brown lacquer (evident missing parts), with fixed nose-piece and red lacquered back. Beautiful Do worked in the style of the ancient Do-maru of Kebiki-odoshi type, with brown lacquered iron plates and blue lacing. Gilded metal mounts. The Kusazuri worked en suite with the Do, but with non-metal plates. Sode worked en suite with the Do, provided with Inome fretwork and with partly metal plates. Kote completely in Kusari with metal plates on the forearms and on the gloves, complete with fabric. With supports for the Sashimono at the back of the Do. Leather and fabric Haidate. Suneate complete with armoured shoes featuring iron plates. Various signs of use and time, missing parts at the lacquer, fabric wear and some tears. Mounted on an old wooden mannequin (probably first half of the 20th century) to exhibit the armour. height total with base circa 190 cm.
LOST IN SPACE (1998) - John Robinson's (William Hurt) Jupiter Mission Cryosuit - John Robinson's (William Hurt) Jupiter mission cryosuit from Stephen Hopkins' Lost in Space. The Robinson family wore cryosuits to enter cryosleep.Multiple versions of the suits were created for each character, with lifecasts taken from each actor so molds could be produced for each suit. Costume designer Vin Burnham created the cryo suits to feature no form of fastening, which meant the actors had to be sealed into them for each day of filming with medical glue.This costume consists of a black neoprene undersuit covered in foam latex paneling in shades of gray with cast detailing; a resin chest badge reading "Jupiter Mission"; vacuum-formed tech elements on the arms, legs, and over the heart where connections would be made during cryosleep; and matching black boots with foam latex embellishments. The costume has been mounted to a mannequin on a metal display stand. It exhibits cracking and tearing throughout the foam and some paint loss. After he was betrayed and stabbed, Colin (Adam Faison) ran through the mansion and ran into multiple Cenobites, including The Mother.This lot consists of a Cenobite prosthetic costume made of silicone over a nylon mesh bodysuit with a back zip closure, snap closures on the silicone, and faux pearl pins studded throughout. It comes with a foam latex head, resin razor blade finger tips, and a mannequin for display. This lot exhibits raw silicone edges, minor rips, and thread fragility on the snaps. PREDATORS (2010) - Classic Predator's (Derek Mears) Screen-Matched Bio-Mask and Distressed Costume with Decapitated Head - Classic Predator's (Derek Mears) screen-matched bio-mask and costume with a decapitated head from Nimrod Antal's Predators. In exchange for being returned to Earth, Royce (Adrien Brody) decided to free the Yautja Predator known as Classic Predator for his resemblance to the original creature designed by Stan Winston for John McTiernan's Predator, but the Classic Predator was ultimately decapitated by the Berserker Predator (Brian Steele). Production distressing to the Yautja bio-mask in this lot screen-matches it to the one Classic Predator picks up after Royce freed him.Predators was lauded as a return to form for the beloved Predator franchise, winning two awards from the Taurus World Stunt Awards for "Best High Work" and "Best Specialty Stunt." Of particular acclaim were its Predator costumes designed by KNB EFX GROUP, Inc. to better accommodate the wearers than previous iterations while still paying homage to those from McTiernan's film.This Predator costume features a urethane rubber bio-mask intentionally distressed by production to appear damaged, lined with fiberglass cloth on the interior, affixed with mesh over the eye holes, and inset with a green wire on the temple; a stack of black foam neck rings; a body suit made of foam latex sculpted into a muscular, alien body with hand-punched rubber bristles and nylon netting around the legs and sculpted greaves; foam latex hands with sculpted gloves; and a pair of dense foam feet, molded over a pair of Asics shoes (size U.S. 13) marked "J. Classic Predator" on the interior. The accompanying head is made of foam latex and has an array of foam dreadlocks glued on the back, hand-punched rubber bristles, and plastic eyes and teeth. The bottom pincers can be moved up and down. The interior of the gloves are hand-marked "Classic Pred" in black. Production intentionally distressed this costume to appear blackened and battle-damaged. The foam latex bodysuit exhibits dryness, flake and chipped paint, discoloration, and a buildup of grime, and will require significant labor to mount on a mannequin display. It remains fragile and should be handled with caution. AMERICAN MADE (2017) - Barry Seal's (Tom Cruise) Costume and Accessories on Custom Mannequin - Barry Seal's (Tom Cruise) costume and accessories from Doug Liman's American Made. Seal wore his costume and accessories while smuggling drugs and weapons into South America for the CIA.This lot consists of American Optical aviator sunglasses with a matte chrome finish and green-tinted frames; a black leather AO glasses case stickered "Hero 2 AR"; a custom-sized striped cream cotton button-down shirt with two chest pockets and a production tag hand-marked "Clean Hero E211-214" affixed; a silver-color metal chain necklace with a faux bronze cross pendant; a gold-color metal wedding ring; blue Levi's 517 jeans (size 31x32); and brown snakeskin boots with side zipper closures. The costume comes dressed on a custom-made fiberglass mannequin in Seal's likeness. HIGHLANDER (1986) - The Kurgan's (Clancy Brown) Costume with Replica Helmet - The Kurgan's (Clancy Brown) costume from Russell Mulcahy's action-adventure Highlander. The Kurgan wore his armor during his first battles with Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) and Ramirez (Sean Connery.)The costume consists of a cowl, body armor, shoulder guards, and a single leg greave, with a leather belt and a black faux fur sporran. A replica helmet cast from the original production molds completes the ensemble. Formed as a bony muscled torso, the body armor fastens with six brown leather straps and features a high cowl inlaid with black faux fur. Leather straps and strands of chain mail hang from each shoulder guard. The matching leg greave fastens with three leather straps. The leather belt is inlaid with plastic plates styled to resemble metal, while the sporran features long, black faux fur tails.The helmet is a replica made from the original production mold. It features a brown and black faux-fur plume styled to match the sporran and a buckled leather chinstrap. Each item exhibits production-based distressing; the helmet's long teeth are missing their sharp points, and the faux fur shows aging and production-related wear. THE MANDALORIAN (2019-2023) - Production-Made Light-Up Miners Collective Helmet - A light-up Miners Collective helmet from the production of The Mandalorian. In the Season 2 episode "Chapter 9: The Marshal," members of the Mining Collective wore helmets when they infiltrated Mos Pelgo shortly after they were given the news of the second Death Star's destruction.This 3D-printed resin helmet was made for the production but ultimately unused. It is painted blue with illuminating gray side panels, and features a black nylon and fastening strip chin strap, black foam padding, a brown leather and black mesh head covering. The helmet comes mounted to a black suede and foam mannequin head display and is functional when powered with batteries. This helmet exhibits internal cracking to the left light up panel. This lot consists of a brown cardboard box with Wonka branding printed in red throughout; and four printed artwork designs of two Wonka candy stores, the chocolate mannequin display, and of Wonka greeting a child.
