We can see some losses in the feathers, build up of dust, staining to the case interior. We can't see the cock from the other angle but imagine it is in a similar state to the front side. There are some losses to the feathers, whether this is moss/insect damage, we are uncertain.

The example with the three stars obviously later. This helmet appears to date from the mid-late 20th century, possibly between WWII and Vietnam. It is inscribed to the sweat band 'Pte Harrison 24171642'. Dimensions 26.7 x 22.8cm, the internal apeture approx 19 x 14.3cm.
A German WWII Wehrmacht helmet bearing eagle and swastika decal, retaining leather liner and canvas chin strap, length 28.8cm.Provenance: The Captain Allan Marshall Collection.Additional InformationGeneral heavy wear, as to be expected, chips to paint, some surface corrosion. We cannot speak to the originality of the decal, please judge for yourself from the illustrations provided. ON the interior left side as the helmet is worn it is stamped MS66. To the rear it is stamped D2 1 (possibly) 7. There are no further visible markings.

Three Police helmets with Staybrite badges and mounts, the first for Greater Manchester Police by Custodian Helmet of Oxfordshire, the second for Cambridgeshire Constabulary, marked to sweatband Christy's London and the third for the Metropolitan Police, without mark or label, also a cap for Durham Constabulary by Christy's of London, stated size 6 3/4 (4).Provenance: The Captain Allan Marshall Collection.Additional InformationSome build-up of dust and dirt, general wear. The example without label has deterioration to the sweatband.

Impossible to say how much of the original paintwork remains. The detail on the earlier example has more originality to it, there is significant fading and loss to it also. Further general heavy wear to both items.

The first mentioned pouch with some accumulated dirt, discolouration, some light fraying and thinning to material. Further general wear, some marks, distress to leather, etc.
