The family fortune went to pot & the box went to Uncle's. "62" to base, 52 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Figure One - beak and tongue damaged and with loss. Firing crack beneath glaze to the rear of the rock. Some loss to the fern upon the rock and firing cracks to base, one particularly large though the base cracks not visible from the top. Small chip to the left hand side of the rock as facing the bird - see images for further detailFigure Two - damage and loss to the beak and tongue. Damage to the lower part of the tail feather and towards the top. Top section with Victorian staple mark repairs, base with large firing crack and three smaller firing cracks - again not visible from top. Areas of loss and damage to the ferns upon the rock. Over all in need arguably of sympathetic restoration
A late 19th Century Meissen figure of "A gallant standing by tree stump in 18th Century dress", bears blue crossed swords mark and incised "M133", impressed "100", 24 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Has had extensive restoration throughout inlcuding both arms have areas missing to the porcelain and glaze, his ponytail has been replaced. There is something missing from his lower hand. Mirror top in his other hand is missing. There is a crack to the ankle on one leg. Generally in poor condition - see images for more details
