19th century portrait miniature on ivory of a woman, signed A. Doringer, with a gilt metal frame and separate leather case with easel stand, miniature size is approx 6 x 8cm.(Please note: Franklin Browns have applied for a de minimis exemption licence for the ivory in this lot U5836D5K)
A 19th century bronze oil lamp stand with a Japanese Awaji turquoise glazed vase. Later fitted for electricity, the column formed by a blue glazed globular vase with a long slender neck, with gilt bronze fittings and ribbon details, the collar stamped 'Miller & Sons, 179 Piccadilly Street', 45cm high (excluding fittings). Condition Report: A few chips under the metal fitting to the top, a few small general chips to the glaze also chips where the base joins the metal stand.

A 20th century Welsh bardic carved oak chair. The broken arch top rail carved with scrolls and surmounted with Prince of Wales feathers over the words 'Ich Dien' (I serve). The back panel carved with the words 'Cymru lan Gwlad Y Gan' over a shield carved with a dragon, having carved scroll arms and a solid seat, raised on turned supports, attached to the back is a metal plaque marked 'Esteddfod Birkenhead 1900', H143cm x W64cm x D54cm Condition Report: The chair does seem to rock, back panel is coming away from the seat but appears secure, back panel has moved slight and is not central, split to seat only visible from the rear and doesn't affect the functionality. general wear as expected with age.
An antique carved oak cupboard. Having a central panelled door to the front and one to either side, all with cast metal handles, raised on rectangular supports terminating in a plank under shelf, carved throughout with scrolling details and motifs, H124cm x W122cm x D49cm Condition Report: The cupboard is Circa 1780 - 1800. Side doors to the cupboard are later adaptions.
A possibly Hellenistic gold funerary diadem, encased in glass. With repousse decoration of swirls and volutes surrounded by a line of impressed small dots along the outer edge, with a pierced hole to each end. The metal with many creases, 23cm long. Encased behind glass, with a stand. Provenance: Purchased by the vendor's father from Christie's, probably in the late 1960s. Two Christie's labels verso numbered 406 and ZJ.
A French Napoleonic souvenir snuff box commemorating the Battle of Waterloo 1815. The circular pressed metal plaque decorated with a scene of a Seated Defeated Soldier, marked 'Le Courage Malheureux, Waterloo, 1815', the reverse lined in leather, diameter 8cm Condition Report: Damage to the underside rim also larger dent to the side, smaller historic dents throughout, leather appears in good order. No removable lid. There is only the leather on one side and the emblem to the other.
A Victorian rosewood sideboard. Each of the two mirror backed shelves having pierced galleries and moulded edges, the upper one mounted on metal columns, the lower on wooden columns. The lower section having carved and moulded details and containing four glazed doors covered in metal lattice and floral details, opening to reveal shelves, raised on carved bun feet, H139cm x W183cm x D40.5cm Condition Report: Gallery rail to the top is slightly bent in one place, lots of water stains and marks to the top three levels, key only works in the two side doors, locks are the same with no makers name and appear to be later, doors close well, there is mould to the doors and internal areas which appears to clean off, the back is original. the curtains are slightly tatty on close inspection, small split to the breakfront top at the rear.
An antique metal casket. The exterior having applied copper scrolls with brass edging, dolphin handle and supports modelled as gargoyles. Either side having an enamel cartouche, one featuring a shield, the other a lion holding a scripture, H17.5cm (excluding handle) x W30.5cm x D16.5cm
A Victorian Arnold & Sons tongue écraseur. The veterinary instrument cast in metal and comes with both chain and wire fittings, stamped 'Arnold & Sons London', contained within a fitted mahogany case, labelled 'Arnold & Sons' and 'West Smithside London', the lift-out tray lined in purple velvet, the exterior having brass banding and latches to the sides, 39.5cm long
