Lot 652

George III bracket clock by Jonathan Midwinter of London, the double fusee movement striking on a bell, with verge escapement and bob pendulum, engraved brass back plate to the movement, the arched brass dial with subsidiary strike/silent dial to the arch, date aperture, silvered chapter ring and cast brass spandrels, in fruitwood case with inverted bell top, circa 1783, 50cm highGeneral overall condition good, movement is clean and moves freely, however, we have not had it going and therefore are unable to confirm if it is in full working order, dial is good, chapter ring is polished. Case is in good overall condition, cleaned in places, some chips to corners, some cracking and damage to veneers, left hand side panel woodwork is cracked and glass is cracked. Front door has had glass panels put in behind frets and these are poorly fixed, rear door moulding is broken and has piece missing from top of door.
