A PAIR OF WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE VASES, CIRCA 1920 'Candlemas' pattern (No.Z5154) designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones, slender baluster form (shape 3148), each gilt and lustred with three black gound panels with a candle with a woman's head aureole to the flame flanked by a three-light candelabra and a figure above a coiled dragon, the blue ground straps between with imps climbing flower tendrils, printed Portland vase marks, painted pattern number and incised numbers, 26cm highThe designs of Daisy Makeig-Jones for Wedgwood (1881-1945) reflected a contemporary passion for fairies and the 'other-worldly', found in the illustrations of Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and the Danish artist, Kay Nielsen; the latter apparently inspiring the Candlemas pattern with her illustrations for 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon: Old Tales from the North', in particular perhaps the plate 'She saw the Lindworm for the first time...' (to be found on page 57 of the edition published in New York by G.H. Doran, 1922).
* BAC TSR2. The portside cockpit window from a TSR2 circa 1960s, curved anti-nuclear gold tinted glass with metal frame finished in green, the underside with Triplax Safety Glass Co Ltd stores reference plate etched with part no 57131 SHT 14 ISS 'M' and serial number 41432, 105 x 58 cm, the condition is excellent which suggests this example was never fitted to an aircraft QTY: (1)NOTE:BAC TSR2 was a cancelled Cold War strike and reconnaissance aircraft developed by the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) for the Royal Air Force in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was designed to penetrate a well defended forward battle area at low altitudes and at very high speeds and then attack high value targets in the rear with nuclear or conventional weapons. The TSR2 was cancelled due to rising costs and inter-service squabbling over Britain's future defence needs which led to the controversial decision to scrap the programme in 1965.

A Leica M3 'First Batch' Black Paint Rangefinder Body, 1959, black paint, serial no. 959447, body, F, shutter working1959, black paint, serial no. 959447, body, F, shutter workingNotes:The camera was discovered in a private collection dismantled into parts, all contained in a single plastic bag. The camera was then handed over to specialist Leica repairers in poor condition. The camera was initially assembled with parts supplied and a number of faults were discovered. Any parts fitted were salvaged/repaired parts from cameras of the same age/model. The camera is single stroke and shutter speeds are later type. The rangefinder is in good order. There are a few internal marks on some of the coatings that look like fingerprints. These are marks etched into the coatings. The optics have all been cleaned and the rangefinder is very good and has been calibrated. With a complete deep clean of all mechanical parts, we managed to restore the camera to good working condition. Shutter speeds are good. We had to supply a few minor parts that were of the correct age but chrome. These were stripped and painted/treated/aged to blend in with the camera. These were the two black flash port bezels and the screw that holds the preview lever to the camera. There is a little vulcanite loss. We have not touched these up. Other than general cleaning, the paintwork retains the original patina. We didn’t record every single part but any springs, levers, screws etc would have been contemporary with the camera. Black or chrome, the same internal parts were used. The only parts fitted that were not contemporary were two light seals that form part of the rangefinder. One looks like a black plastic washer and another - a black card teardrop-shaped seal for the frame line selector. As previously mentioned, flashport parts were supplied and fitted. I believe that the original black paint M3 cameras had chrome flash port bezel rings. We found a couple of rings that we painted/fitted. In any event, many original black cameras do seem to have black rings. Normally, the release catch on the bottom plate would be chrome. There is a tiny ring that sits under the preview lever. It can hardly be seen. It screws against the shell of the camera. That part was missing so we replaced it with a part that was painted by ourselves. So, non-original black parts fitted: flash port beauty rings, preview lever bezel. The light seals for the RF are no longer available and are made the agent. Service Log:Baffle removed. Baffle cleaned. Baffle (plush) strips re-glued.Cleaned shutter area. The main drum, spring take-up rollers and guides cleaned and lubricated. Slow-speed escapement ultrasonically cleaned and bearings lubricated.Cams and blind release catches, cleaned and lubricated. Shutter curtains checked for light leaks/curling. Slit width and tensions reset. Transport mechanism cleaned and lube. Advance block clean and lube, forward clutch checked. Advance lever damped to prevent crashing into speed dial. Frame counter checked. Speed dial operation checked. Detent mech lubricated.Advance clutch tension adjusted. Rewind mechanism lubricated and checked. Sprocket timing checked to ensure neg frames fall between sprocket holes. Timing stopping lever and spring replaced. Gear timing checked. Reverse function checked. Brake cleaned and new friction disc fitted (new old stock). Flash sync contacts cleaned and reset. ST mechanism clean and lube. Shutter release travel adjusted and checked. Frame counter-adjusted and checked.Rangefinder optics cleaned including brightline mask. Rangefinder calibrated. Parallax checked and correct frameline operation checked (50, 90, 135). Preview adjusted and tested. Seal affixed. Vulcanite checked and minor faults fixed. Film door checked, bottom plate catch lubricated and adjusted. 'W' seal applied after final RF calibration. Camera reassembled, cleaned and tested.
A Leica IIg Rangefinder Camera, 1956, chrome, serial no. 848442, body, VG, shutter workingNotes: We believe this is a genuine IIg. The serial numbers match and if this was a 'franken-camera', we might find that the lever that interacts with the slow speed and the escapement might still be in place. That was absent as it should be. If the camera originally was fitted with a self-timer, we would expect marks on the edges of the screw holes for the self-timer. The camera has clearly been serviced during its life and there are clear signs of this. All of the screw-holes on the front plate have marks on the edges caused by the tips of screwdrivers. The metal is very soft and these marks are difficult to avoid. However, the screwholes for the self-timer are clean and it doesn’t look as if they were ever used. Blocking the hole for the slow speeds would be easy. Blocking the ST hole is difficult because of the vulcanite but could be done using an Ig shell in theory, but it's the fact that those three ST holes are clean that suggests to us that this was never a IIIg or Ig serial number if it is a converted Ig, started around 887xxx, so it can’t be that either. The above is our opinion, however, it is up to the buyer to satisfy themselves prior to bidding and is sold as per our terms and conditions laid out.

Midnight Purple, V-Spec, 26 years ownership and just 12,500 miles from new is a hard combination to beat! The R33 is now rightfully seeing the appreciation it deserves and what an undeniably incredible example this one is following its major service. The R33 was surrounded by huge hype following the popularity and cult status of the R32 and was unveiled at the 30th Tokyo Motor Show in August 1993, with the public having to wait until January 1995 for the GT-R to hit dealerships. This stunning 1995 R33 GT-R V-Spec is a remarkable example that's been preserved amazingly well and is one of 805 Series 1 V-Spec cars finished in the synonymous Skyline colour of LP2 Midnight Purple. It has covered just 12,500 miles from new, untouched by modifications even down to the seldom-seen original twin-pipe exhaust, with the car retaining all the original Japanese safety stickers and decals, preserved in remarkable condition. As a 1995 car, it spent its first three and a half years in Japan before being imported to the UK by the Toy Store Motor Company in 1999, who converted the speedometer to MPH, when our vendor purchased and registered the car in their name meaning it benefits from single UK-ownership. The reupholstered interior colour change was undertaken during its time in Japan and complements the car nicely. Changing from cloth to leather, the original seats, door cards and handbrake/shift boot were re-trimmed, so to put back to standard would be a remarkably easy task. The interior features lots of its original components such as the correct GT-R chequered flag mats. The car has been in long term, temperature-controlled storage and, as is frequently the case, the original book packs and Japanese history have been misplaced, so its history is limited to its UK V5C and invoicing for recent recommissioning work. The refresh has been undertaken by marque experts, Green End Garage, and included the timing belt, spark plugs and all fluids to give full confidence to a future custodian. Little used over here, it has covered just 30 miles between 2006-2024, and will come to auction with a fresh MOT offering peace of mind. The car appears absolutely on the button both mechanically and cosmetically. It's worth noting that there appears to be an erroneous input on the GT-R Registry where it states the car is white, however, as shown by the chassis number and chassis plate, it has always been LP2 Midnight Purple. The exterior, in totally original condition with gleaming paintwork, features the impossible-to-source 'V-Spec' decals and GT-R badges, factory-stamped forged 17" alloy wheels, Xenon headlights and adjustable rear spoiler. Accompanied by its original GT-R keys, this low mileage R33 GT-R V-Spec is just sensational to drive. Having spent so much time in a temperature controlled storage facility, under the ownership of its single enthusiast UK custodian, this car has been preserved exceptionally well, a testament to the previous owner and an asset to the next. Road &Track Magazine summarised the R33 GT-R very well in July, 2019 stating 'It isn't just better than you'd expect, it might well be the high-point of GT-R heritage'.The R33 GT-R has been criminally underrated for a long time, sometimes subdued by the racing pedigree and successes of the R32 GT-R, and the cult-like following and Hollywood stardom of the R34 GT-R but thankfully, the Japanese performance car market has woken up and there is an opportunity to be part of it with this original, well-cared for, low ownership and incredibly low-mileage R33. We welcome any inspection of this example; it will not disappoint.Specification Make: NISSAN Model: SKYLINE R33 GT-R Year: 1995 Chassis Number: BCNR33006649 Registration Number: N210 SGY Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RB26 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 12535 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: Purple/White LeatherClick here for more details and images
