ESTIMATE £8000 - £10000Chassis number B 510 5354 OD HSO - this Series II Overdrive is presented some recent history dating from 1983. The file contains a used car invoice from "J.RUTHERFORD (EARLSTON) LTD" in Berwickshire dated October 8th 1985 with the mileage recorded at 41755 miles, detailing the purchaser, an English Politician and Etonian residing at what is considered to be one of the finest examples of Scottish Baronial mansions in the country. This gentleman shows on a V5 copy as being the second owner after 1983. There is MOT history dating from June1985 with a recorded mileage of 40776 miles along with a current and advisory free MOT certificate at 50016 miles expiring July 2020. We also have a selection of expired Tax Disks, recent invoices and a chronological manuscript log of work completed by the vendor and current owner who has remained the registered keeper for over 9 years and drove the car some 50 miles to Auction. There is also a couple of press articles which feature the car. History then shows the the car being listed by a Southern Auction House during November 2004 with a photograph of it in what appears to be a stable and stating "offered for restoration" and gaining its next registered keeper during May 2005, who having spoken with ourselves states the car was incredibly solid and apart from a full professional respray due to faded paintwork and some rechroming required very little in recommissioning and remained in this name until 2010 when our vendor took over ownership. Dundee City Archive have researched the car for us and have identified the original owner as a Dundee gentleman residing in Lawside Terrace with the car being first registered on April 3rd 1962, they also state that there is a note in the register that the vehicle was registered and sold by "ANGUS GARAGE of DUNDEE" the local Rootes Dealership. DVLA have the date of registration as June 1st 1983 and the Chassis Number as B51535400HS0 and not as per the car which reads B 510 5354 OD HSO which decodes correctly as "510" a Series II example bearing serial number "5354" "OD" denoting Overdrive and "H" Home "S" Saloon and "O" Ordinary Specification. Thanks to Steve Lewis of the PVHCC for his assistance with this listing. The car is offered with Super Snipe wheel trims as fitted and a selection of spares which are available for viewing with the car.
