A scare George III Scottish provincial 'Luckenbooth' brooch, in the form of two openwork, conjoined hearts below a heart-pierced surmount with two swivel pins, initialled 'I.M' on the back, by Alexander Stewart of Inverness and Tain 1810-1820, marks makers mark 'AS' struck twice. 2.3" (6cm) high o.5oz.
A Sevres Porcelain Bottle Stand, of boat shape, with two integral "cups" formed from over-lapped O motifs, with border panels depicting crested birds amongst foliage within gilt scroll and flower frames, linked by swags against a turquoise ground, blue enamel painted crossed L's mark enclosing letter U, NB (smudged), incised initials LD, (37cm wide), now with two associated clear glass liners with gilt metal mounts

AN INTERESTING PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM SOME PAGES FROM THE LOG OF A YOUNG N[AVAL] O[FFICER] - (signed with monogram ER) - giving an insight into life on board H.M.S. Hercules at the time of the surrender of the German fleet in Scapa Flow, 1918. Includes photographs of Queen Mary on the quarterdeck of the Grand Fleet Flagship H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth, Admiral Beatty acknowledging cheers of the ship's companies after the surrender, November 1918. The personallog of the day's watch kept by the compiler, giving his eyewitness account of events surrounding the surrender from the viewpoint of his "Action Station in Hercules", further photographs of the "Hercules at the visit of the Allied Naval Commission to Kiel, December, 1918. Photographs of "H.M.S Emperor of India" to which compiler was transferred in 1919, at Gibraltar and Malta, Photographs "I picked up in the Bazaar, Stamboul, in April, 1919", depicting Turkish troops in action in the Danrdanelles, Turkish dead, the German general von der Goltz at Turkish HQ, The Kaiser in the uniform of the Turkish Field Marshall and "some of the blokes what beat him!" at British GHQ, Constantinople. The final page has a series of snapshots of "the author of this log" aged 17, taken at Keysford, Christmas, 1917, including "H.R.H and his Mother" in motor-cycle/sidecar combination, (Registration LR 1854). Also included, autograph signature of Winston S Churchill, then 1st Lord of the Admiralty. In all, a most interesting historical document. Rebound later in black cloth, 30cm x 24cm, (12in x 9.5in). .
A Rare Imari Ewer, circa 1680, with European Silver-Gilt Mounts, early 18th century, decorated in underglaze-blue with ho-o birds in flight amongst peony flower sprays and scrolling foliage, the loop handle with karakusa and flower heads, the slightly domed cover similarly decorated above a narrow band of cash motif to the neck, the spout in the form of bamboo, European silver-gilt mounts, 21cm.; 8.25in.
A Large Imari Charger, circa 1700, decorated in iron-red enamel and gilt on underglaze-blue, the central panel with a screen, a cage containing a bird beneath an awning and amidst flowering cherry blossom, surrounded by a band depicting a landscape with pavilions, the rim with panels depicting ho-o birds in flight and kiku, 56cm.; 22in.
An Imari Ewer and a Barber's Bowl, late 17th/early 18th century, the ewer and cover decorated in enamels and gilt and moulded in the form of petals and sprays of kiku flowerheads; the bowl painted with shochikubai to the well, the rim with ho-o birds and stylised flowers, the reverse with two branches of plum blossom, 12.5 and 26.6cm.; 4 7/8 and 10.5in.
