In the Palissy majolica style, modelled in the form of large mussel shells with fish swimming inside, H23cm Condition Report: Both appear in an excellant condition for their age, no chips, cracks or restoration. A very large French Palissy style trompe l'oeil charger by François Maurice, c.1875-85, the oval dish modelled in high relief with three fish and an eel to the well, the rim with crayfish, a newt, a frog and various large plants including bulrush and fern, incised 'F Maurice' signature to the rim, good restoration to the head of the newt, 69.3cm.
A very large revivalist Palissy majolica trompe l'oeil charger by Christine Viennet, inscribed 1961, modelled in high relief with newts or lizards among large leaves, with bright blue dragonflies and a variety of sea shells, an indistinct incised signature and '1861' to the reverse, small losses, 61cm.
