Beatrix Potter, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, published by Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd, signed Beatrix Potter May 6th '41 to the title page, also inscribed in pen by Mrs M Woodhouse, together with two others, unsigned, a Greetings card from All at Hill Top, Sawrey, to Margaret, a photograph of Hill Top and a postcard. According to the vendor, Margaret was her Grandmother who worked for the Hyde-Parker family at Melford Hall in Long Melford, where she met Beatrix Potter, who visited the estate and where she famously wrote some of her storiesThe signed book has loose pages at the front and the front page has been taped in. Pages up to 16 have come away from the spine. Inside the front cover has been inscribed by the vendor's grandmother in blue pen. The cover is also worn with age/use.
