Stamps: Over Four Hundred Great Britain First Day Covers, dating from late pre-decimal to early Millennium, many are unopened in their original Royal Mail British Philatelic Bureau Envelopes.

1931 (April) Hollywood to Singapore flight by the American aviators Ross Hadley and John Pratt, stampless Aero Philatelic Club of Calcutta cover flown to Singapore, signed by both pilots and inscribed "Hollywood to Singapore 1/4/31", posted back from Singapore to Calcutta with a Singapore c.d.s. and red "POSTAGE DUE", Calcutta arrival backstamp (Apr. 24). Fine and very scarce, about five covers stated flown to Singapore. Photo on Page 196.

1928 and 1936 Philatelic Exhibitions including 1928 official exhibition cover and covers bearing the exhibition label (2) all with the red exhibition c.d.s, unused exhibition labels in differing colours (3), 1936 JIPEX catalogue with the two cancelled miniature sheets on the cover, and a study of the JIPEX miniature sheets mint, used or on covers. (131).

Village Cancels. 1930-36 Covers with village cancels of All Saints, Bendals, Cedar Grove, Falmouth, Green Bay, Gunthorpes, Pares, St. Marys or St. Johnstons, the last two covers registered with registration labels of St. Johns. Most philatelic but still very scarce, the Freeland & Jordan Antigua handbook illustrates another 1933 cover of Pares described as "possibly the only surviving early cover", and states only about half a dozen examples of St. Johnstons are recorded (this example possibly the only known registered cover). 1932 (Oct. 17/18) Tata Sons Ltd, Karachi to Madras route, small size Aero-Philatelic Club of Calcutta covers (41) and other covers (13) carried on the first return flight, from Madras (13), Bellary (12), Bombay (13) or Ahmedabad (16), all to differing destinations mainly in Africa or the Middle East. Destinations include Rutbah Wells, Basra, Baghdad, Tiberias, Haifa, Cairo, Khartoum, Kisumu, Kampala, Mwanza, Broken Hill, Limbe, Dar-es-Salaam, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Paris, London, Colombo, etc. Also a cover from London carried on the first outward flight from Karachi to Ahmedabad. A scarce group, very small mailings to many overseas destinations. (55). Photo on Page 118.

1950s 'Malayan Emergency', collection of military mail in a Philatelic Album comprising covers (78), pieces (3) and air dropped leaflets (7), a wide range of regiments including Gurkha regiments, Commonwealth regiments (9, with Australian, New Zealand and Kings African Rifles), etc. (88).

1931(April) First Experimental London to Australia flight, Aero Philatelic Club of Calcutta cover from Calcutta to Singapore franked 9a, boxed "UNCLAIMED" and "UNDELIVERED FOR REASON / STATED / RETURN TO SENDER" cachets (Proud I16, I26) and red Dead Letter Office backstamp.

1931 (Feb. 25) Imperial Airways first despatch to East Africa sent entirely by air, Aero Philatelic Club of Calcutta covers from Jodhpur to Assiout, Luxor, Assouan, Kareima, Khartoum, Kampala, Kosti, Juba, Kisumu, Mwanza, Nairobi, Moshi or Dodoma, all flown by Trans-Indian Air Service from Delhi to Karachi and Imperial Airways from Karachi to Cairo connecting with the London to East Africa service. Scarce, very small postings to most destinations, all bearing 1929 Air stamps, minor staining. (13).

1895 (Jan. 10) Registered cover from Mombasa to H.L Hayman in London bearing 5a and 7½a surcharges, minor staining clear of the stamps, philatelic but still scarce stamps on cover. Photo on Page 144.

QV-KGV Stamps of Leeward Islands (13) or St. Kitts (39, also two covers) cancelled in Anguilla, with "AN" code duplexs, "A" code c.d.s or Anguilla Valley c.d.s, also scarce rubber cancels of Forest (3d on piece), Anguilla Road on 1928 "Marshall" registered cover or Blowing Point (2, single 1/- and 3d on piece). A good lot, with values to the 2/6, the philatelic but very scarce Anguilla Road cover having taken a week just to reach Anguilla Valley. (52 + 2 covers). Photo on Page 230.

1923 (May 9) Registered cover from Alor Star to Oswald Marsh in London bearing Malaya-Borneo Exhibition first setting 1c - 10c and second setting 21c - 50c, philatelic and a little toned, but a very scarce use of these second setting overprints on cover. Photo on Page 156.
