Lot 522

Thirteen Georgian steel bladed pistol grip knives, with silver coloured metal handles, traces of hallmarks visible on some, the blades on some marked Woolley. CONDITION REPORT: On closer inspection these knives would be better described as a composite set of thirteen knives. Whilst all have pistol grip handles some are finished differently where they join the blade. All 13 have the same coat of arms to the handles, four have similar blades, another 4 are stamped or partially stamped Woolley and the remainder are unmarked. They are also slightly different lengths from circa 24.5 cm to circa 25.5 cm. They are also in varying states of repair and most have fractures to the pistol grips.

Fitted with an offset hammer to enable the user to take an aimed shot along the barrel, unlike the standard design bar hammer pepperbox, also in contrast to the standard Pepperbox this requires the user to rotate the barrel group onto the next unfired chamber, it is in correct working order.
