Attributed WW1 Canadian Officers Pistol Holster, brown leather holster with front magazine pouch and leather fastening strap. Cleaning tool pouch, large belt loop and two brass attachment rings to the reverse. Belt loop is stamped “Lt G BECKETT 60TH CANADIANS”. Complete with spare magazine clip. Remains in very good overall condition. Grenville Beckett was born in Dublin on 17th December 1890. He emigrated with his family where his father became Chief Clerk of the valuation office of the Canadian Bank of Commerce. Grenville followed his father and started working for the bank in 1912. In 1915 he enlisted at Montreal in the 60th Canadian Regiment at the rank of Lieutenant.

Superb Great War Ensemble of an Officer of the Duke of Wellingtons West Riding Regiment, consisting of four pocket cuff rank tunic of a Captain, brass regimental tunic buttons to the front and pockets. Bronze officers collar badges with bronze T’s underneath. Officers khaki breeches with ties to the lower legs. Officers brown leather lace up boots. Sam Browne belt with double straps, Webley pistol holster, brown painted officers torch, ammunition pouch, compass in case and officers 1916 dated binoculars. Uniform also accompanied by a fine Officers type “Gor Blimey” peaked cap with bronze regimental cap badge to the front. Original brown leather chinstrap and cloth strap holding up the neck flap section. Interior of the cap has fine lining with leather sweatband. Grouping is mounted for display on a museum mannequin which is included with the lot. A fine instant display of a Great War British officer. Set has not been removed by C&T Auctioneers from the mannequin and inspected the interiors of the tunic or breeches.
