In less than ten years after Hitler's failed attempt to seize the government by force, he was appointed by President Hindenburg to the office of German Chancellor. The date was 30 January 1933, the birthday of Germany's Third Reich. The scene painted on the Card shows the celebrations that evening at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate. Some signs of age but rare. F.(Frank) ABBOTT. 8/Y& L.R., comprising Distinguished Conduct Medal, 1914-15 Star (SJT.), British War Medal and Victory Medal (W.O.CL.1), together with his Commission Warrant to Warrant Officer Class II, dated 10th August 1918, a postcard portrait photograph, a postcard "Tyldesley Fighting Family" showing the recipient, his four brothers and brother in law in uniform, and two "Preambles" to the London Gazette Supplement, dated 4 January 1917, and 16 August 1917.Citation reads "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He rendered invaluable assistance to his Company Commander in assembling his men preparatory to an attack, and later in maintaining their direction to their correct place in the final objective. Although twice wounded, he continued to advance with his company until ordered to withdraw".

A 1914-15 Star, awarded to 1275 GNR D.P.BRADBURY, R.G.A., together with his brass button stick, Trench Art brass ashtray engraved with his name, cap badge, his 28th Division epaulette with red cloth backed shoulder title, embroidered silk postcard, various buttons, his portrait photograph and other photographs, and a Signaller's brass trade badge.Footnote :- Gunner Bradbury landed in the Balkans on 25th April 1915 and was also entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal. The 28th Division fought in France and Belgium until 1916, then at Salonika until the Armistice.
