BOAC absorbed BSAA in 1949, but BEA continued to operate British domestic and European routes for the next quarter century. A 1971 Act of Parliament merged BOAC and BEA, effective 31 March 1974, forming today's British Airways. Original rare vintage propaganda poster titled "Remember me? I was at Bataan. Buy war bonds.", with an artwork by Alexander Brook (1898-1980), an American artist, teacher, and art critic best known for his paintings. The painting features an American infantry soldier standing solemnly with arms crossed and a helmet in hand, against a dark, moody background. The Battle of Bataan is famous in history as one of the last stands of American and Filipino soldiers before they were overwhelmed by the Japanese forces in World War II. Bataan featured prominently during World War II. Prior to the 1941 Japanese invasion, Bataan was a military reservation for the purpose of defending the fortress island of Corregidor. US Army stored nearly 1,000,000 US gallons (3,800 m3) of gasoline there, along with various munitions. At the southern tip of the peninsula the U.S. Navy had established a small base at the port of Mariveles. The majority of the American and Filipino forces surrendered on April 9 and were forced to march more than 100 kilometers (62 mi) from Bataan to Capas, Tarlac, which became known as the Bataan Death March. Set of eight original vintage airplane maintenance and service poster issued by the RAF / Royal Air Force and prepared by IFVME. 1. Examine - Corrosion, Contamination or Deteriation- artwork features a man on a ladder working on a planes engine, while a large part falls through the corroded metal of the aeroplane and onto the floor. Excellent condition, minor creasing, fold.; 2. Insecurity of Attachment - artwork features a scared man panicking as he hangs off the edge of a cliff by a rope. Excellent condition, minor fold.; 3. Replace - Remove an item and fit a new or reconditioned item - artwork features a soldier fixing a car engine and throwing a car part into the face of another man. The National Socialist Movement in the Netherlands - NSB was a Dutch fascist and later Nazi political party that called itself a “movement”. As a parliamentary party participating in legislative elections, the NSB had some success during the 1930s.
