dating: Second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Naples, Smoothbore, two-stage 17,7 mm cal barrel with remains of antique browning, octagonal and round with rings and acanthus leaves at the girdle, brass foresight, breech with lily-shaped marks, crowned 'R' and 'FABB. DI NAP.', remains of gilding. Breech with remains of browning. Tang with broad sight. Percussion lock with frames and small floral engravings, plate signed 'M. FONZO' in gold (the screw cover of the cock is missing). Working mechanism. Long wooden stock with checkered segments, smooth brass mounts. Ramrod with cartridge extractor. V.C.S. C.O.H SUHL'; smooth wooden grips, ring for the strap. Working mechanism. Some slight pitting. Various marks in the lower part, the butt plate with the mark '1.M.II.11.R.40.', and a previous one 'R. I. M. 16.16.' (cancelled). Single serial number '55xx'. length 36 cm.

Provided with light-blued precision front sight and adjustable rear sight. Bore with clearly visible rifling and some encrustations that need cleaning at the nozzle. Bolt with remains of bluing, engraved with fine racemes and marked 'SYST. R. BORNMÜLLER PATENT'. Working mechanism. Light, wooden half stock. The mouthpiece of the fore-end carved with a hound's head with glass eyes. Checkered handle, butt-plate with wide cheek piece. Iron mounts with remains of case hardening. Trigger guard with volutes. Working trigger and set trigger. A peep sight (with extended tang) at the back. Tailed tang with serial number '34xx'. Iron ramrod. length 126,5 cm.

dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: USA, Heavy, octagonal, rifled, 11 mm cal barrel made of iron, provided with a front sight with tubular sheath and with two compartments for rear sights filled with brass and horn block. With the Remington mark on the bottom side. Forward spring lock with flat plate, with remains of the signature 'R. MORE', outlines and engraved with small racemes. Mechanism needs revision ( the hammer works, but does not hold the cocking position). Light wood half stock with signs of use and time; big horn mouth. White metal mounts. Working trigger and set trigger. A small peep sight on the back. See similar bench rest rifles in 'Flayderman's Guide' 9th Edition, pages 686-687. length 133,5 cm.

The Great War The Fourth Year, first English edition, A.L.s signed from the author replying to an editor at the London Evening Standard inviting Nevinson to contribute to an ongoing series which celebrates artists views, plates, contemporary ink ownership inscription to front free endpapers, very light foxing, largely affecting margins, original cloth-backed boards, spine ends bumped and frayed, 4to, 1919.⁂ Nevinson joined the army in the autumn of 1914 and went to Flanders as a mechanic and driver. Though he was invalided in 1916 he became one of the great war artists, producing some of the most unflinching and harrowing images of the conflict.

René Lalique (1860-1945) - 'Coquilles' set of clear and opalescent glass bowls, comprising one large bowl, 20.5cm diameter; together with six smaller bowls, 13cm diameter, all with wheel cut marks 'R LALIQUE FRANCE' and engraved script marks 'No. 3201' and 'No.3024', respectivelyLarge bowl - Several small scratches near rim and to base. Small bowls - One broken in two pieces and re-glued with old glue residue. One with approx 2mm fleabite to rim; one with unburst air bubble; one with small area of slight disruption near rim.
René Lalique (1860-1945) - 'Poissons' clear and opalescent glass bowl, raised moulded mark 'R LALIQUE', 20.8cm diameter x 7.7cm highA few scratches, mostly to base and centre of interior. The bowl measures 20.8cm diameter x 7.7cm in height. There are no chips to the rim. We are unable to say whether the rim height has been reduced, however, there is a decent gap between rim and decoration.
