Humphreys from "The Royal Library Belles Lettres Series", 1907. Square 8vo (162 x 125mm). Half title, the title printed in red and black. FINELY BOUND in full green crushed morocco gilt [the binding unsigned], the covers with elaborate gilt arabesque designs at the centre and corners against a lattice of gilt ruled lines from top to bottom, triple gilt fillet borders, the spine gilt in six compartments, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, others uncut. Provenance: "Beatrice from Frank, Aug. 9th, '17" (inscription on front free endpaper). "Second impression." The contents contain advice to children in essays by Francis Osborn (first printed in 1656), Sir George Savile (1688), Sir Walter Raleigh (c.1632), Lord Burleigh (1617), Sir Matthew Hale (c.1680) and William, Earl of Bedford (c.1642) respectively.

Thomson, Royal Navy South Atlantic 1982, with rosette (LRO (G) B I Thomson D134410T HMS Minerva) with named card box of issue; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., E.II.R., 1st issue (RS B I Thomson D134410T RN) mounted as worn, good very fine and better (2) £500-£700 --- Barry Ian Thomson was born on the island of Malta around 1955. Joining the Royal Navy direct from school on 2 October 1973, he enjoyed a long career as Radio Operator, including a period as Leading Radio Operative aboard the frigate Minerva from 15 July 1980 to 31 October 1982. Deployed as part of ‘Bristol Group’, Minerva was heavily involved in escort and patrol duties during the Falklands War. On 1 June 1982 her radar detected an Argentinian C-130 and vectored a flight of patrolling Sea Harriers towards it; the enemy reconnaissance aircraft was intercepted and promptly shot down. Returned to Devonport, Thomson enjoyed a long run of postings to Mercury, Seahawk, Raleigh and Drake. Discharged to pension on 12 December 1996, his character was noted as ‘exemplary’.

A Vintage Raleigh Chopper MK2 (1972 - 1985) three speed, Quick Silver finish.  Condition:  This bicycle is, on the whole, nice and original and in good vintage condition. It has a replacement break handle and pedal.  The frame has some small chips to the paint, tarnishing to chrome, and damage to stickers. The bicycle does work, but gears need attention, and it would require a good service.  (This condition report is not exhaustive.)
