A SCARCE 7mm (PINFIRE) TWELVE-SHOT REVOLVER SIGNED 'CHAINEUX, MODEL 'LEFAUCHEUX PATENT', serial no. 2793, circa 1855, with round 4 3/4in. brushed bright barrel, loose floral engraving at barrel mount, plunge ejector on crane, fully fluted cylinder with floral engraving over each chamber, engraved open iron frame, the left side also numbered '169896', double-action mechanism, recoil shield with loading gate, chequered ebony cranked bag-shaped grip with lanyard ring at heel and guarded trigger, the whole 'in the white' with some mild staining.
