Paris used his bow and arrows to shoot and kill the legendary Greek warrior Achilles (Brad Pitt).This lot consists of a bow, quiver, and four arrows. The wooden bow is covered in vellum and a dark green leather grip with hand-stitched detailing. The ends of the longbow are finished in gold-color paint and resemble a bird with a black beak. The black leather quiver features a thin leather strap and decorative cream pieces with hand-stitching. One side features a decorative pouch with a scale pattern. A gold-color wooden ring is adhered near the top. Four wooden arrows with gray fletching and darkened blunt ends come with the quiver. Taxi driver conspiracy-theorist Jerry Fletcher (Mel Gibson) confided his theories in government lawyer Alice Sutton (Julia Roberts) before he discovered one of his theories turned out to be true, but unaware of which one. This script was used by set makeup artist Richard Dean. It consists of a 135-page draft script dated September 25, 1996 with revision pages printed on blue, pink, and yellow pages and marked "Richard Dean" on the front page in a black vinyl three-ring binder; and six color printed Polaroid photos, each with handwritten annotations. Two of the Polaroids are taped throughout the script. This lot exhibits discoloration and water damage. THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY (2001-2003) - Gimli's (John Rhys-Davies) Double-headed Axe - Gimli's (John Rhys-Davies) double-headed axe from Peter Jackson's epic fantasy trilogy The Lord of the Rings. One of the brave Fellowship tasked with destroying the evil Ring in the fires of Mount Doom, Gimli carried his double-headed axe on his back throughout the trilogy and used it at the Battle of Helm's Deep against Sauron's forces. Rhys-Davies also posed in character with the axe in promotional photographs. The trilogy is one of the most critically and commercially successful in film history, and was nominated for a total of 30 Academy Awards, winning 17.Made of hard resin, the axe is beautifully detailed and distressed to resemble a steel blade, worn wooden shaft and leather-wrapped handle. The weapon is scaled to the size of Rhys-Davies - two sizes were created - the other being for one of the shorter performers used in long shots to create the appearance of Gimli as a Dwarf. The piece was originally made for and used on the production, and was subsequently provided by Weta Workshop to licensee Sideshow Toys as a reference piece for producing licensed replicas and toys, and features an engraving along the shaft that reads "Gimli's Double-headed Axe / Sideshow Toy / 12 June 02 / 0010W." One side of the blade is also engraved with "0010W" and the image of a Weta bug.The weapon exhibits some minor production wear on the blade.
