Shooting accessories comprising:a lightweight double cartridge-bag belt;a 43" canvas and leather Brady gun slip;a .22 Webley & Scott target launcher and a box of 49 blanks;10 hard shell pigeon decoys;a two-piece cleaning rod with 16-bore jag and wool mop. 

A fine 1875 John Dickson & Son 16-bore bar-action Hodges Patent sidelever hammer gun (serial number 3360) with profuse and sharp scroll engraving throughout, well-filed Brazier locks and original 15" uncast figured-walnut stock with good drops, later chequered horn butt-plate and vacant oval.The 30" nitro reproved Damascus barrels with  2½" chambers and both bored cylinder; the rib engraved 'John Dickson & Son - 63 Princes Street, Edinburgh' and the underside of the tubes stamped 'E.C.H.'.The locks marked with the gun's serial number and 'JOSEPH BRAZIER - ASHES'. The action stamped between the flats with patent use number 'E.C. Hodges Patent 533'. The breech-face centrally stamped with the Hodges trademark, a triangular tower surmounted with a crown and ‘E.C.H.’ within. Both barrel flats stamped with original London proof marks and Birmingham 1968 reproof marks: BNP and 3 TONS PER □". The right flat stamped JD&S and .669". The left stamped with the serial no. 3360 and .677". The Anson fore-end with typical Dickson hidden push-rod button and wave-like chequering.Together with leg-of-mutton leather case.Condition -  Barrels loose on the action. The left tube's minimum wall thickness measures approx. .015", and the right approx. .017". Minor surface corrosion. The browning worn from the fore-end to the breech.  Both tubes appear to be dent-free, some very minor pitting (or fouling). Both strikers removed as their coil springs are ‘flat’ and in need of replacement (the lower edge of the extractor with striker marks).Provenance - The makers confirm the gun, 'a best breach-loading 16-bore hammer gun with 30-in barrels', was delivered in January 1876.
