HARRY STINTON (1883-1968) FOR ROYAL WORCESTER; a hand painted cabinet plate depicting Highland cattle, within a deep gilded border with beaded rim, signed lower right, puce marks verso, diameter 25.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: There does not appear to be any restoration, or cracks, chips, etc. It is possible that the gilded rim has been overpainted.
ROYAL WORCESTER; a large hand blush ivory painted pot pourri vase, depicting pink, yellow and lavender Summer blooms, the base styled as a basket, gilt-heightened throughout, with puce mark to base and numbered 1286, height 28cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are some small areas of ivory blush paint missing from where the lid fits on to the rim - this may be either a firing flaw or age-related wear. There does not appear to be any restoration or any damage in the form of cracks or chips. The lid is present and the pierced top appears to be in good order.
THOMAS LOCKYER FOR ROYAL WORCESTER; a hand painted cabinet plate depicting peaches, grapes and Summer fruits, with gilt-heightened beaded rim, signed lower right, puce mark verso, diameter 21cm. CONDITION REPORT: There does not appear to be any restoration, overpainting, or cracks, chips, etc. Two scratches, each approx 2.5cm long accords the middle of the top peach. These are not chips or cracks, they are just scratches in the painting.
A Royal Doulton boxed limited edition figure from the Animals Bird Collection 'Woodpecker', no.0317/1500, height 18cm, a Royal Worcester 'Harwood' plate, taken from a watercolour by J M WM Turner, limited edition of 500 and a Sèvres hand painted plate 'La Bastille', with cobalt gilt-heightened border, diameter 24cm (3).
A Royal Worcester H Price fruit painted coffee can and saucer, puce printed mark together with a Royal Worcester Nautilus shell. Tallest 17 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The coffee can is signed but not the saucer. There does not appear to be any signs of any damage, repairs or restoration and there are no chips to either the cup or saucer. The saucer does have some surface scratching to the gilding as one would expect and there is a further scratch to the wall of the saucer below the four grapes which runs for +/- 6 mm. You will note that the date letter has been marked to the bottom of the saucer in some form of pen. This we have wiped off. We have looked at the cup and saucer under magnification and there does not appear to be any crazing. The Nautilus shell is also in good condition with no chips, no damage, no repairs and no restoration. There do not appear to be any hairline cracks.
A collection of Royal Worcester fruit decorated cabinet pieces, including two handled bowl by Price, circa 1901, length 28 cm, an E Townsend plate, diameter 16 cm, 1902, a Moseley decorated pin dish, length 14 cm and a shaped bowl by Freeman, the first three with puce printed marks, the latter black printed (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: There are four items of ceramics in this lot, they are all in used condition in the sense that each has in places very small losses to the glaze. None of these are highly visible, their overall condition is good except the smallest dish which has two hairline cracks to the rim. Both visible when looking from below. Each dish has some wear to its base through use.
A Royal Worcester fruit cup and saucer by Moseley, a vase decorated by Barker, both with puce printed mark, together with a small cup and saucer and small vase, the vase signed Platt, the cup and saucer without signature. CONDITION REPORT: All items in this lot are in generally good order with no chips, no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The large Moseley cup and saucer have no visible crazing on the painted surfaces, however the white underside does have faint crazing. There are very minor surface scratches to the gilding to the centre of the saucer. The other pieces in this lot are not crazed. The miniature saucer diameter is 87 mm.
