An impressive, fine and rare 19th century Imperial Russian silver canteen of Hanoverian pattern cutlery, comprising twelve table spoons 978grams, six dessert spoons 329grams, six dessert forks 302grams, serving spoon 208grams, large soup ladle 403grams, fish server with metal core handle 176grams (marked JAL) steel bladed and tined carving knife and fork, twenty four table forks 1957grams, twelve teaspoons 390grams, six white metal bladed knives with metal core handles 405grams and twenty four steel bladed knives with metal core white metal handles, each having makers mark AC, mark for St Petersburg and assay master mark for Ivan Vonifatiyevich Yevstigneyev 1878, the fish server with pierced and engraved blade, maker JAL (Lohfert, Julius Eduard August and conforming date and assay mark, all marked with 84 zolotnic to denote 875/1000 silver standard. All housed in a brass mounted oak case with two lift-out trays and all fitted with buff-coloured plush lining and blue accents. Gross weighable 875 grade silver without steel bladed items 5148grams. Flat ware and cutlery generally in very good condition commensurate with age and use, the knife blades with some oxidation/spotting, additional images uploaded. The fish server being the only item with differing maker.

Wobbles slightly on the foot. Age-related surface wear but generally in good condition.

A set of twelve filigree handled Finish 830 silver teaspoons. Marked for Johan Victor Aarne, Vipuri, 1931. Total approximate weight 67.4 grams/2.167OzT. Aarne was one of the notable Finnish Jewellers of the late 19th century and often worked with Faberge to supply the Russian Imperial Court. Vipuri was lost to Russian in World War 2, was then part of Finland.
