C.1920 German hunting ‘etched’ sword and scabbard ‘Hirshfanger’ knife by Baron of Solingen. Features bone grips with triple acorn pins to each side. Gilt D shaped bar guard and hilt has plate loss to top of handle, deer hoof quillion and shell guard very good. Unsharpened 32.5cm spear point blade has makers stamp to ricasso. Beautiful hunting scene etchings to both blade facings with floral pattern down back edge. Leather scabbard in good condition, stitching excellent, metal mounts with light wear to gilt finish. Overall measures 48.5cm.
19th early 20th C. Arab jambiya Omani dagger knife. Good quality Jambiya from the early 20th C late 19th century. This style of dagger with the “L” shaped scabbard is called Omani, as it originates from Oman. It has a 19 cm curved and dual edge blade with a pronounced central rib, forged from good steel. The hilt is Rhino horn and wood with silver steel front panel and silver tooled decoration on the guard. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and set with chased silver locket and chape. The belt attachment is made of heavy silver rings and twisted silver wire. Very good condition. The blade has few small areas of shallow pitting and there are some minor dents so blade surface, edge still decent sharpness, period wear to the gold stars ton the blade and silver parts in general but lovely piece for age.
1950’s era Balinese Kris/Keriss knife with superb Pamor pattern dagger. Features an excellent blade with lovely Damascus pattern Pamor blade, upper blade very well detailed. 42 cm blade has 12 Luk or waves to length and an excellent keen blade edge. The throat ring has 3 blue and 3 red gem stones, wooden furniture is traditionally made with cultural figure carved hilt and scabbard that fits blade extremely well, scabbard has small section missing near throat and visible glue joint repair. Beautiful quality display piece, fit for any collection. Measures 64.5 cm.
WW2 German Army officer’s dagger and scabbard. Features cream coloured celluloid grip is in good condition, oakleaf pommel and 3rd Reich eagle and swastika cross guard. Good un-named 26cm long blade is in good condition with unsharpened spearpoint blade needle tipped. Scabbard is dent free and in good condition with 2 ring belt hangers. All-round a good clean example
WW2 type 98 Japanese WW2 officer’s sword and scabbard in Army field fittings, signed Asano Kanesane blade with kokuin. Type 98 hilt in very good condition with leather locking strap fuchi cover. Blade signed NOSHU ASANO KANESANE SAKU KORE, with the Turtle Kokuin quality stamp, measuring 89cm tang to point, 96cm pommel to point. Blade carries a fair cutting edge with beautiful wave hamon, minor thumb nail nicks near point, with some minor age darkening spots to surface. Wooden and leather scabbard for field use, missing upper lock to scabbard, with unusual brass drag cover. Souvenired by vendors father who ‘nabbed’ this in Borneo during WW2. Overall measures 99cm.
Of Falklands war interest, a Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solange Argentinian issue M1909 artillery machete stamped "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solange and Modelo Argentino 1909" with scabbard and leather frog, together with a pair of Carl Zeiss Jena 6 x 30 binoculars, also stamped "Ejercito Argentino Morteros 81 mm number 39", surrendered by an Argentinian officer at the surrender of West Falkland taken by Chief Petty Officer W D Wilson flag bearer HMS Avenger, who after 26 years service left the Royal Navy as a Lieutenant.

First World War regimental pattern Sgian Dubh to the Seaforth Highlanders, the knife belonged to 2nd Lieutenant John 'Jack' Aitken M.C. , Seaforth Highlanders, who was awarded the Military Cross by George V on the 5th of April 1919 for his gallantry in saving a wounded soldier under fire on 28th August 1918, while engaged in the assault on the Drocourt-Queant Line while attached to the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, part of 10th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division during the 2nd Battle of Arras, entry in the Edinburgh edition of the London Gazette reads, ' T/2nd Lieut. John Aitken, attd. Sea. Highrs. (2nd Bn.) , For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty east of Arras from 28th August to 4th September. He commanded first a platoon and later a company which had lost all its officers. After a night attack, finding his platoon enfiladed by machine gun fire, he reorganised them in a less exposed position, he then went out to bring in the wounded, fetching one officer from within fifteen yards of the machine gun. His courage and cheerfulness were a great encouragement to all ranks.', a native of Edinburgh, Jack Aitken was born in 1897 and passed away in 1959, the Sgian Dubh has a carved bog oak grip with early type Seaforth pattern St Andrews badge on star shaped etching, foiled citrine to top enclosed in thistle mount, it is housed in a pebbled leather covered wood scabbard with plain brass mounts, the blade has unfortunately suffered some rust damage and staining but is still a fine memento of a very gallant soldier
