1984 Land Rover Series III Transmission: manualMileage:109140Land Rovers were inspired by the US-built Willys Jeep immediately after the war and by 1992, Land Rover claimed that 70% of all the vehicles they had ever built were still in use. Before the war, Rover had produced luxury cars which ceased to be in demand in the immediate post-war period and raw materials were strictly rationed to those companies building construction or industrial equipment. Rover's original factory in Coventry had also been bombed, forcing the company to move into a huge factory it had built in Solihull to construct aircraft. The Series III is the most common vehicle, with 440,000 of the type built from 1971 to 1985. The headlights were moved to the wings and the traditional metal grille featured on its predecessor, was replaced with a plastic one. The production run for the Series III was from 1971 through to 1985 and during this cycle (1976) the 1,000,000th Land Rover rolled off the production line. The Series III saw many changes in the later part of its life as Land Rover updated the design to meet increased competition. This pleasant example of a British automotive classic has been recently owned and cherished by an enthusiast, ex-Land Rover employee. The practicality of these four-wheel drives from Solihull has never been in doubt and this model is no exception having spent its recent years working on a farm in Devon. Benefitting from a towbar and a new floor to the rear cabin as well as Land Rovers legendary four-wheel drive capability, this split-screen Series III petrol version looks well in blue with a contrasting white roof and bonnet mounted spare wheel, and has just passed an MoT test. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and offered without reserve this Land Rover certainly deserves further consideration.
1950 Bentley Mk. VI 4¼ litre Standard Steel Sports Saloon Transmission: manualMileage:63069B285GT was delivered in June 1950 to Consul-General Axel Johnson in Sweden straight from the factory and registered in Sweden as EJP-670. In 2007 it was acquired by a Mr. Gavel who made extensive modifications, including removing the original engine and fitting a B60 which was modified to accept a supercharger (photos on file). It was used for long distance touring fitted with an innovative roof rack - now removed as well as an overdrive. The car was also raced and so appeared in the Ray Roberts book 'Special Bentleys and Bentley Specials'. Towards the end of his ownership, Mr Gavel refitted the original engine (by then refurbished) to the car. B285GT was subsequently imported to the UK on the 28th June 2013. This example is presented with new East of England cloth headlining and on new, slightly oversized, tyres (205/80/16) which give a more comfortable ride. All wheels sport chrome and black painted discs in good order with additional spats available and included in this lot. The paintwork, overall, is in good condition although the wheel arches now show light signs of bubbling and corrosion commensurate with its age although nothing needing immediate attention. Both sills appear in good order as does the front and rear bumpers although one rear overrider shows damage. Both headlights uprated to halogen show good chrome and good parabolic reflectors. The with a re-chromed radiator and base-mounted badging near the centre spotlight.Whilst in Sweden, the nearside front wing had a side mounted spare wheel, this wing and bespoke wheel cover is included in the lot. The engine bay shows genuine care lavished upon it. The crankshaft damper has been rebuilt and the vehicle is fitted with a full flow oil filter, a new coil and the original torch still present. Both the engine and engine oil are clean and, we are informed, the oil is changed regularly. The interior has been re-carpeted and edged in leather throughout, including the boot. The door-cappings, dashboard and dash-top walnut veneers all appear to have been renewed and show in good order. The rear seating and all door cards have been recovered and all seating is firm and complete although the front seats do sport aftermarket leather covers. The blind is fully operational as are the Smith dials in the dashboard including the recently rebuilt clock. Inertia reel seat belts have been fitted as well as an additional tachometer plus a discreet panel under the dashboard which includes a USB port, hazard warning lights, overdrive and screen wash. The car is fitted with a towing eye to the front and a discrete tow bar and removable tow hookAdditionally, there is an aftermarket two-speed heater to assist this subtly modernised Bentley, although the original, fully working, unit is still fitted underneath the passenger seat alongside a battery isolator. It is reported to drive well, complete with overdrive, and the modifications certainly point towards and extremely usable example. It is supplied with the original owner's handbook and a complete workshop manual. It is also supplied with a trunk in need of some work and fine leather straps to secure this to the boot lid when dropped down. The car is only for sale due to the owner reducing his collection and will have been driven 100 miles to the auction.
1969 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Transmission: manualMileage:The Phantom VI was an ultra-exclusive rolling chassis made from 1968-1990. From 1968 to 1973 it was manufactured by Rolls-Royce Ltd., and during 1973-1990, by its successor, Rolls-Royce Motors. Most of the whole production of 374 units were bodied as limousines, a few landaulettes (12), and at least one as a convertible, and some hearses (4). The Phantom VI was used, until 2002, as official state car by the British Queen Elizabeth II. Based on the Phantom V, the Phantom VI had a re-styled dashboard and was powered by an engine derived from the current Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. Most of the coachwork was created by Mulliner Park Ward. The Phantom VI was the last Rolls-Royce with a separate chassis built at the London Rolls-Royce coachworks at Hythe Road, Willesden. It featured coil springs to the front, leaf springs to the rear, and drum brakes on all four wheels, later cars having hydraulic power assistance. The car was powered by a V8 6,230cc engine with twin SU carburettors and coupled to a four-speed automatic gearbox. The limousine was based on its predecessor the Phantom V with many improvements and some alterations to the exterior, notably a lower radiator grille and a sloping bonnet. This interesting Phantom VI has latterly been the property of the world's leading luxury department store Harrods and its legendary owner Mr. Mohamed Al-Fayed. Prior to joining the fleet of eight other limousines, used exclusively by Harrods for the transportation of visiting VIPs, Dignitaries and Royalty, the car underwent an extensive mechanical and body restoration to the highest standards and was refinished in Harrods' Green with a basket-weave side effect and a tan roof. It was subsequently fitted with a bespoke green leather interior by SC Gordon Ltd. complete with a television, VHS player, fax machine, wine cooler, cocktail cabinet, three telephones, and a custom headlining screen-printed with the iconic Harrods' logo. A comprehensive record of this renovation is available for inspection together with the car's previous service history. As part of Harrods fleet, it was expertly maintained in-house regardless of cost and this care has continued with our vendor. This imposing limousine has covered just 10,260 miles from new and is supplied with the aforementioned restoration and service invoices and a V5C registration document. With style, grace, luxury all under one roof, is there any wonder these cars have been enjoyed by the rich, the famous and royalty throughout the world.
2007 Aston Martin Vanquish S Transmission: Mileage:75693A total of 1,086 Vanquish S models were manufactured between 2005 and 2007 and it was debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. Offering a power increase from 460bhp to 520bhp, other changes included new wheels, a slightly different nose shape, new raised boot lid with a larger integrated spoiler and the addition of a small front splitter for aerodynamic reasons which help the Vanquish S boast an improved drag coefficient. The car also featured an optional Sports Dynamic Package which incorporated sportier suspension, steering and larger brakes than the standard V12 Vanquish. With a top speed exceeding 200mph, the Vanquish S was, at the time, the fastest Aston Martin ever produced. This stunning Aston Martin Vanquish S with the fabulous 6.0 litre V12, presented in Tungsten Silver (same as in the Bond film) with Obsidian Black interior and quilted headlining is a very sought-after model, having always been garaged which is evident by the great condition the car is in. Optional extras fitted by the factory were an engine pre-heater, Bluetooth, Red Brake Calipers (replaced with new original gold ones last year), console storage box, body coloured door release, front stone guards, heated front screen and desirable 2+2 seating. Offered with a full service history and more recently benefitting from a full clutch replacement and two new fuel pumps by Aston Service, Dorset just 200 miles ago. During the most recent full service in 2021 the car also benefitted from all the possible upgrades that they have to offer, with David Such having spent a lot of time researching the potential issues known about these cars and producing parts to prevent these from happening. These upgrades fitted last year include AP Racing discs attached to new high grade anodised aluminium bells which carry a different bobbin design and much improved anti-rattle springs to eliminate the brake rattle issues. Also included were Ferodo Race Pads all round, aluminium wheel arch liner brackets which replaced the existing steel ones equalling zero corrosion to the tub, front water manifold pipes coupled to a full set of upgraded radiator hoses, a replacement misfire module shields and fuse cover box. Under bonnet side panels, Black stainless steel bolt kit for the undertrays and all other fixings exposed to the elements under the car were also replaced along with K&N cone air filters to replace the OEM single cylinder filter. Also replaced was the rear exhaust muffler/back box, it was replaced with a Quicksilver Sport version instead which sounds amazing!! Everything else on the car is as per factory fitted standard specification, over £15,000 has been spent on this car last year to future proof it for the next owner. In all other respects this car is in immaculate condition and must been seen. Just having their 20th anniversary this year, the Vanquish is officially the last hand made cars made by Aston Martin and therefore suitably collectable and are appreciating in value nicely.
1958 Jaguar XK150 Roadster (3.4 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:42171Despite having a family resemblance to the XK120 and XK140, the XK150 was radically modernised. A one-piece windscreen replaced the split screen and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings, and on the roadster the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer. In the interior, the XK140's walnut dashboard was replaced by one trimmed in leather and chrome. On the early drophead coupés, an aluminium centre dash panel with an 'X' pattern engraving was fitted which looked similar to the early 3.8 E-Type. It was discontinued after June 1958. The standard engine, the same as fitted to the XK140, was the 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-six rated at 180bhp at 5750rpm. These were high performance, well-appointed sports touring cars capable of 137mph and 0-60 in 7.8 seconds and could accomplish long distances with comfort and in great style. This left hand drive Jaguar XK150 roadster was supplied through Jaguar Cars, New York on the 4th July 1958 to a Mr Howard Campbell. Imported to the UK at the beginning of 2014 from California in the current cream paintwork with racing strips, it was purchased by the current owner in June 2015. While in his ownership he has gone through the car and made a number of improvements including having it retrimmed in red leather, new roof, replacing the gearbox and overdrive for a five-speed unit (the original matching numbers gearbox is supplied with the car), triple Weber carburettor conversion, Coopercraft style brakes, a new stainless steel exhaust system, new fuel pumps, a new speedometer reset with the mileage of the old speedo and a new petrol tank. This XK150 OTS comes with the personal number plate 3 MUY and is supplied with a V5C registration document, a Heritage certificate, the original handbook, a sales brochure, and a file containing a few UK invoices. This is an XK 150 for the driving enthusiast, to use and enjoy on the many pleasurable roads around the UK and Europe.
