Early Victorian Scottish silver three piece tea set, comprising teapot of melon form, with repoussé floral decoration, engraved initial, hinged domed cover with flower head finial, and silver leaf mounted handle, on a domed pedestal base, matching sugar and cream jug (Edinburgh 1843), possibly Robert Greig of Perth. All at approximately 48ozs. Teapot 29cm across. APHA Ref: TVCZ66YWGeneral overall condition very good, some minor surface wear and scratching, cream jug base is slightly distorted and does not sit square, no other major damage or repair. Base marks clear, marks on neck of cream jug rubbed.

All at approximately 80ozs. Teapot 28cm across. APHA Ref: NJZ9MUCGGeneral overall condition good, some minor surface wear, scratching and denting to all pieces, teapot and cream jug have had repairs to lower handle mounts, Teapot cover hinge is slightly bent, no evidence of any other major damage or repair, cartouches on teapot, sugar and cream jug appear to have had engraving removed, coffee pot has engraved armorial, all four pieces have distorted bases and do not sit square, particularly tea and coffee pots. Hallmarks are clear.

APHA Ref: VCW5ET7QAll five pieces have wear and surface scratching and all have dents, some significant, particularly on one of the teapots and the coffee pot. cover hinges on both teapots and coffee pot are distorted and do not close properly. Finials on coffee pot and one tea pot are damaged but pieces are present. Bases are all uneven, handles on coffee pot and one teapot are loose. Please note the coffee pot has a major presentation inscription deeply engraved on one side virtually covering the entire surface area.
