In the respective catalogue they were listed as works by the silversmith Louis-Jean-Baptiste Cheret (1760-1832). At the 1934 exhibition of Ricardo EspÃrito Santo there was a sauce boat identical to this one by Bustorfe Silva as being Henri Cartier.

The marks with some very minor wear but overall legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the high points, particularly the border.
