with hemispherical skull formed in two pieces, decorated around its base with a raised band and above it with fourteen flutes radiating from a finial screwed at its apex through a star-shaped washer, the flutes separated from one another by roped ribs, fitted at the front to a broad peak pierced at the centre to receive a sliding nasal-bar retained by a staple and locking-screw (nasal bar missing) the rear of the skull fitted with a tapering tubular plume-holder and with a neck-guard of three lames, each with cusped upper edge, each side with a pendent cheek-piece, and in patinated aged condition, 25.0 cm high

This German is not in jail, obviously because a lucky Russian shot cut his head open. - featuring images of a sad and happy gentleman in a bowler hat and an image of a skull in a helmet with a crow holding an Iron Cross medal. Poster from the Okno TASS series issued by the Soviet Union Telegraph Agency designed to raise morale during World War Two. Design by Kukryniksy, the collective name formed from the combined names of three caricaturists - Mikhail Kupriyanov (1903-1991), Porfiri Krylov (1902-1990) and Nikolai Sokolov (1903-2000). This foldout herald is exceptionally pretty and detailed as most of the promotional material for this colossal film. It is printed on both sides.This herald is in beautiful almost new condition. A film of profound importance in the annals of moviemaking, RKO Studio knew they had a massive hit on their hands when Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack turned in this legendary fantasy full of dinosaurs and adventure. Not only did they create a tragic version of the "Beauty and the Beast" narrative that has continued to captivate audiences for generations, but they did so by combining numerous technical innovations with awe-inspiring effects. Chief among these was the work of stop-motion animator Willis O'Brien, whose efforts on such projects as The Lost World brought him to the attention of Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. Indeed, O'Brien's skilled treatment of Kong and Skull Island's dinosaurs breathed life into the film, keeping audiences' suspension of disbelief in check and thus raising the picture's status to a true classic.This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th.
