Consisting of a cradle (this is the only one silver-plated), folding chair, and a set by the same maker (Drost) consisting of a sofa, two chairs, table and a side table. Netherlands / ?, second half of the 20th century, hallmarks: various hallmarks. 67 grams, 835/1000. Sofa dimensions: L 2.2 cm, W 4 cm, H 2.5 cm.​
A Regency style parcel ebonised mahogany sofa table, 19th centuryThe boxwood strung top with drop leaves above a strung frieze applied with moulded brass roundels and having two opposing short drawers, raised on ebonised vase supports on a quatrelobed base with scroll feet capped with brass castors.150cm wide (102cm closed) x 78.5cm deep x 79cm highCondition:Good colour and figuring to the top and frieze. There are a few small heat marks to the top which are restorable. The base has some typical cosmetic scuff marks around the feet ends. There are areas of varnish craquelure around the base. One of the vase supports has a split to the base and both have fine surface craquelure. Evidence of old worm to the underside supports.

Show wood generally fair to good with typical cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. Old chips to the ends of the foliate caps on the top rail. Surface varnish/patina wear to the back of the top rail. Upholstery fabric good. Cushioning firm.

THE SCONE PALACE GOTHIC BED A GOTHIC REVIVAL OAK DOUBLE BED FRAME DESIGNED BY WILLIAM ATKINSON EARLY 19TH CENTURY 156cm high, 178cm wide, 235cm deep Provenance: Scone Palace, Perthshire, Scotland William Atkinson (1775 - 1839) was a celebrated English architect best known for his work in the Gothic revival style. Initially a pupil under James Wyatt, Atkinson's career as an independent architect started around the turn of the 19th century and includes almost fifty commissions for country houses around the North of England and the Scottish Lowlands. Atkinson's commissions include Chiddingstone Castle (1800), Bretton Hall (1807), Broughton Hall (1809), Chequers, Buckinghamshire (1823) and Lismore Castle, County Waterford, Ireland. Considered perhaps his most notable work is the Gothic reconstruction and expansion of Scone Palace, Perthshire between 1803 and 1812.The present lot shares identical architectural features and motifs with some of the panelling and carvings at Scone Palace, including the carved doors and archways leading to the Long Gallery and the Ambassador's Room, and with William Atkinson's original hand-drawn design for a 'Sofa for Gallery Scone, July 1821' presently held in the Scone Palace Family Archive.
