Lot 173

1969 Porsche 911 Transmission: manualMileage:29288Manufactured between 1965 and 1969, the Porsche 912 was very much the entry level Porsche sports car. Although, for some time, considered the poorer relation to the 911, the 912 is a serious sports car in its own right. With aerodynamic lines, low weight and an efficient engine, the 912 demonstrated good performance, nimble handling and economy, resulting in initial production cars outselling the 911. The 912 won Car and Driver's 1967 'Readers Choice' Poll for its class, a popular choice for motorsport teams and a rally prepared 912 won its class in the 1967 European Rally Championship.Purchased as one of two early  Porsche’s from a deceased estate sale in South Africa, this fantastic 912 911 was subsequently imported to the UK and is now fully registered with the DVLA coming with its new V5C registration document and UK registration number MCK 434G. Clearly built with the racetrack in mind, the car sports a stripped out interior, bucket seats and rear roll cage. Lightness has also been ‘added’ through the use of some fibreglass panels. The engine  has been upgraded to Porsche’s famous flat-six, but the state of tune is unknown. Given that the car had been in storage for some time, it is fair to assume that it will require some recommissioning before hitting the track again. The vendor does report that the car runs, but has not taken any recommissioning work any further than that. Alternatively, the car would make a great candidate for restoration to factory specification, or alternatively as a ‘re-imagined’ 911 to the new owner’s specification.Supplied with a V5C registration document, this fantastic track focused 912 is ready to thrill once again, it just needs an enthusiastic new owner to give it a new lease of life. Consigned by Will Penrose.*Interested parties should note that contrary to the previous catalogue description, the chassis number for this vehicle shows it to have left the factory as a Porsche 912 rather than a Porsche 911, later being upgraded to 911 specification.

2013 Audi Q3 Quattro SE (2.0 litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:58000The car uses the Volkswagen Group A (PQ46) platform of the Volkswagen Passat B6, the same as the Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV. The Q3 slots above the Audi Q2 subcompact crossover SUV. Compared to the compact luxury crossover SUV Q5 and mid-size luxury crossover SUV Q7, which are positioned more for family practicality and off-road performance, the Q3 is aimed as more of a lifestyle/sports automobile. Design and development began following board approval in the second half of 2007. Julian Hoenig's design was chosen for production and frozen in 2009.  The Q3 shares components, transmissions and engines with amongst other vehicles utilising the PQ35 platform, the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and Å koda Yeti. This lovely example imported from Japan is presented in black with grey cloth interior. It comes with electric windows to front and rear, privacy glass, air conditioning with climate control, stop/start, keyless ignition and this particular car comes with the more powerful 210bhp engine mated to an automatic transmission. It was first presented as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show in 2006 and the production version was shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Rapide name is a reference to the Lagonda Rapide, a four-door, four-seater saloon produced by Lagonda, now a part of Aston Martin. The new Rapide is the company's first four-door fastback saloon since the Lagonda which was discontinued in 1990. It is based on the DB9 and underpinned by the Aston Martin VH platform. 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Transmission: manualMileage:21750The Dino, named in honour of Enzo Ferrari's son, was a brand for V6 engined Ferraris and the project that Alfredo 'Dino' Ferrari worked on before he died tragically of muscular dystrophy at just 24 years old. In order to homologate Ferrari's Formula Two entry in 1966, the FIA requested that 500 production cars were produced using the same V6 unit as the race car. The Fiat Dino was born using the two-litre V6 Ferrari unit which was later used in the early 206GT versions of the Dino. Ferrari used the mid-engined configuration that was working well for them in sports car racing for the new Dino and the prototype 206S was shown at the 1966 Turin show. The car drew a positive response and Ferrari put the car into production, making it the first mid-engined production Ferrari. A 2.4 litre version on a longer wheelbase, the 246GT, replaced the Dino 206 in late 1969. The beauty of a mid-engined sports car is the handling, as the improved centre of gravity lends itself to better road holding. A Ferrari Dino has great cornering ability and is an enormously fun car to drive. Our vendor purchased this example back in 1987 and has cherished it ever since. Work life and family life meant the car never got used as much as he originally intended, so it was stored away and used very sparingly over the years. The car spent around 20 years off the road from the mid 1990's, so in 2019 a thorough recommissioning process began. The work was entrusted to Modena Engineering, who from late 2019 until late 2023, went right through the car inspecting and replacing anything which had deteriorated whilst it was in storage. A total of £54,279 was spent and the car is now in fine fettle. The work began by draining and renewing all fluids, carrying out a compression test, carburettor strip down and refresh, replacement of all coolant hoses, fuel tank internal inspection, new fuel hoses, new spark plus and HT leads, ignition and fuel system checks, brake caliper overhauled, new water flow housing, a tidy up of unnecessary wiring from the car and lots of focus on wiring in general, four new brake discs and pads, new brake pipes, new headlamps, new exhaust manifold gaskets, new CV boots, new engine mounts, overhauled starter motor and alternator, re-chroming of bumpers, suspension inspection, new Koni shock absorbers, new bushes, suspension geometry setup, steering rack overhaul, new undertray, work to internal floor panel, outer floor sills, new gearbox sump gasket, gear change adjustment setup, timing chain tension adjustment, valve clearances checked and adjusted, new head studs, general engine bay tidy up where necessary with cam cover vapour blasted and returned to black, internal paint used for camshaft end plates and oil filler neck, new aluminium expansion tank, interior removed, floor panels cleaned, new underfelt fitted for floors and bulkhead, door lock and window adjustments and many many other small but labour intensive recommissioning jobs. The car is now supplied to auction in excellent condition, with what appears to be its original seats, excellent paint and the knowledge that an expert has recently been right through the car and it is now ready to be enjoyed. We do know that this car was originally built as a left hand drive example, delivered to its first owner in Italy, but has always been right hand drive during our vendor's ownership. The car is offered with a very attractive estimate for any Dino and will be supplied with a V5C registration document and twenty pages of invoices detailing the recent works undertaken. 1971 Porsche 911E Transmission: manualMileage:87800The Porsche 911 is the flagship car of the German manufacturer. It has a distinctive design, rear-engine, with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. Since its introduction in 1963, the 911 has undergone continuous development although the basic concept has remained little changed. Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of competition and is among the most successful competition cars ever. The earliest edition of the 911 had a flat-six engine in the 'boxer' configuration, similar to the 356, air-cooled, rear-mounted and displaced 1991cc. It was mated to a four or five-speed manual 'Type 901' gearbox.Manufactured in October 1970 this 911E, originally shipped to the USA by Porsche Cars America where it was registered in 1971. Details from Mohr Sports Car Brokers indicate that the car when it left California for Belgium in 2014/15 had been fully restored and uprated, this included later green/black leather trim and an uprated engine to a 1973 2.4 litre S specification and was offered with the original engine in a crate with the sale. The original certificate of title from 2014 is still with the documentation and we can ascertain that the cars restoration included a repaint in the original 8080 paint code (Silver metallic), full retrim, gearbox rebuild and sports exhaust and Sekuritt glass all round with new chrome and very good panel gaps sitting on deep 6's Fuchs including the flat six spare wheel. The car was purchased by a Belgian whom then later that year offered the car for sale in this exact condition via the Hedingham Classics at the Castle auction at which our vendor purchased for £88,040. Belgian registered in 2015, under the skin was still the 2.4 litre uprated S specification engine with the original matching numbers engine, which was in need of rebuilding, giving the opportunity to return this car to its factory specification. After careful consideration he initially had the car fully retrimmed by Classic FX to original, as it would have left the showroom in 1971, including restoration of the genuine Recaro sports seats. Now invested in the car he took it to renowned specialists Redtek, air cooled 911 engine specialists, to fully rebuild and install the original engine to the car and fit new front and rear shock absorbers, all of which is supported by invoices in the history file. Since the full engine rebuild, which was under 1,000 miles ago (thus still considered being 'run in') the car has been maintained by Redtek/Nick Fulljames and presents as a fabulous example of a matching numbers fully restored 71 911E.Offered with original documentation from its purchase and export in 2014, through to all invoices from both Redtek and Classic FX coupled to an original 911E owner's manual, UK V5C and Porsche certificate of Authenticity, tool roll, jack and spare CDI box, this is a wonderful opportunity to own an iconic 911 in its factory specification, with viewing highly recommended. 1970 Porsche 911T Transmission: manualMileage:The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won the 24 Hours Le Mans and other major sports car races outright against prototypes. The 911T was the first Porsche to receive the new Bosch K-Jetronic or CIS engine (Continuous Injection System) from January 1973 onwards. Often referred to as 1973 1/2, these T models produced 140bhp and also boasted the newer type standard H pattern (915) gearbox which, in tandem, provided a smooth yet powerful engine and proved great fun to drive. A contemporary Car and Driver extended road test concluded the base spec 911T was the better touring car, with the two fuel injected models being more difficult to handle in traffic and filled with mechanical noises. This stunning left hand drive, 1970 Porsche 911T coupé came off the production line in December 1969 and was first registered in Los Angeles, specified with an optional Blaupunkt stereo, leather steering wheel, and 911S oil tank and instruments. Owned for many years by a Mr Greg Craven in North Carolina, the 911 was imported to Europe in 2014 where it was the subject of a full body and mechanical restoration costing circa 50,000 euros, undertaken by Classic Car Services, under the watchful eye of Noel de Block, one of the leading classic car specialists in Belgium. The opportunity was taken to change the colour from burgundy, to the Porsche colour of ivory white. A full photographic record of the work that was undertaken can be seen on the Classic Car Services website (https://classic-car-service.be/porsche-911-t-karmann-coupe-1969/) and shows the high standard that it was completed to. Subsequently the Porsche was owned by Robert van Weelde, who amongst other things, played cricket for his home nation of the Netherlands! In the current vendors ownership, the 911 has been dry stored and resides in his private collection. The vendor reports that the original 2.2 litre engine offers plenty of power and the 911 drives very well indeed. In fantastic condition throughout the paintwork and interior are in very good order as is the engine bay, and underside. Maintained regardless of cost and following the extensive restoration this wonderful example is ready to enjoy. Offered with a history file including its current UK V5C registration document, previous MoT records, sundry bills, a photographic gallery of the restoration, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirming that it retains its original engine. A desirable five speed manual example of the early Porsche 911, fabulously presented. Consignor Daniel Godin

1936 MG PB Transmission: manualMileage:13872The MG P-type is a sports car that was produced from 1934 to 1936. This two-door sports car used an updated version of the Wolseley Motors-design and made overhead camshaft crossflow engine, previously fitted in the J-type Midget of 1932 to 1934, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed non-synchromesh gearbox. The PB produced from 1935 had a bigger 939 cc engine made by enlarging the bore from 57 to 60 mm and this increased the output to 43 bhp. Externally the versions are very similar, the main difference being the radiator grille, where the PA has a honeycomb and the PB has vertical slats. The other obvious difference is in the design and material of the standard dashboard. Just 526 examples of the PB were produced and in 1936 a supercharged MG PB driven by Andrew Hutchinson won the Limerick Grand Prix.First registered on 6th of February 1936 this PB is one of just 99 four-seat tourers manufactured by MG. The present owner purchased the car some nine years ago in 2014 and imported the vehicle back to the UK from Denmark, where it was exhibited in the Egeskov Classic Museum for over 12 years.Listed on the Triple M register €“ PB0631 /MMM867, since 2014 this example has been used regularly on regularity rallies (10) and charity tours (3) in the UK and Europe. Competitive results include three class wins in the RAC 1000 Mile Trial in 2015, 2016 and 2018 and overall winner of the Historic Endurance Rally Association (HERO) Summer Trial in 2019.In the last nine years over £40,000 has been spent on servicing and upgrades, much of this with pre-war MG specialist Andy King. Work done includes servicing and annual MoT's since 2017, and cylinder head and engine rebuilds including fitment of a Marshall type supercharger and a water pump, both options in 1936. Other additions include a mohair tonneau cover and hood, plus side screens, and running boards. An electric fan was fitted with conversion to waterless coolant. Additional work included a new clutch, an electric master switch and prop shaft fitment of Brantz sensor. The history file includes invoices and MoT records from 2014, a current V5 and history from 1972 to 1984 including details of the restoration/rebuild completed in 1977 by a recent secretary of the Triple-M Register.Offered with the MG Workshop Manual (M Type), an original MG Owner Instruction Manual (P and PB Series), and miscellaneous spares including starting handle, contactless petrol pump, 16-inch steering wheel, original fitment twin carburetors and inlet manifold, supercharger belts, ignition components and two aero screens (un-used).This is a rare, usable, and well-maintained example of the PB with a clear indication of the competitive nature of the car borne out by its results over the past decade.

1956 Bentley S1 Transmission: automaticMileage:18857Successor to the R-Type, the Bentley S1 was introduced in 1955 with a whole new chassis; the car's wheelbase had been extended 3 to 123, and the luggage compartment was expanded. The S1 had softer suspension than the R-Type, with electrically controlled rear shock absorbers. Brakes had been improved, and the steering was lighter. This model marked the final integration of Bentley with Rolls-Royce - the standard saloons were now entirely alike, but for grilles and badging. The British Magazine, the Motor reported a top speed of 103 mph and 0-60 acceleration of 13.1 seconds from a short-wheelbase S1 in 1957.Copies of the factory build sheets show that this Bentley S1 Sports Saloon left the works in March 1956. It is finished in dark green with a beige hide interior and was sold new via Murkett Bros Ltd of Bedford to first owner Sir Ronald Stewart, owner and Chairman of the London Brick Company. The DVLA records for this handsome Bentley show that a further seven owners have enjoyed the car. A Mr. Clasen of Eaton terrace was the owner between 1995 and 2007 during which time he spent over £27,000 servicing the car with marque specialists Frank Dale and Stepsons. Works included an engine rebuild in 2002 at 86,896 miles, a stainless steel exhaust, a rebuild of the rear axle and differential, a brake system overhaul and a front suspension rebuild. A subsequent owner had a Harvey Bailey handling kit fitted and in 2016 this striking British classic benefitted from new inner and outer sills, lower wing sections and some repairs to the rear chassis legs. Presented to auction with a V5c Registration document, lots of service receipts and in spite of exemption due to age, a valid MOT test certificate. Consigned by Dominic Lake.

1974 Lamborghini Urraco 250S Transmission: manualMileage:In the early '70s, the late Ferruccio Lamborghini had decided it was time to add a smaller model to the line-up that until then, only consisted of V12 engine cars. It was this decision that led to a V8 powered model being produced that was able to compete on the same level as the Ferrari Dino 246 or the Porsche 911, so, preliminary work began on a model that would become the Urraco. At the November 1970 Turin Auto Show, the first pre-production Urraco crafted by Marcello Gandini, designer of the Lamborghini Countach, went on display, showing off its handsome looks, angular frontage with pop-up headlights and large, wide opening doors. All-in-all a well-balanced car that, once you got to know it, was acknowledged as a true 'Raging Bull'. 1972 saw the improved two-door coupé, Urraco S introduced, utilising a full leather upholstery, powered windows that were now also tinted and an optional metallic paint coat available. The engine also received an update, and was fitted with new Weber 40 DCNF carburettors, capable of synchronous opening and high rates of flow making them ideal for highly tuned engines. This superb example of this rare Italian sports car is presented in Blue Tahiti with Senape leather/cloth interior. It was delivered from new to Achilli Motors in Italy and there is a Certificate from Lamborghini confirming the original car configuration (right hand drive) which is in the history file. The car was first registered in the UK in 1982 and was purchased by the present owner in 2008. The car benefits from air conditioning and electric windows and has been kept in long term, secure, dehumidified storage as part of a significant Italian car collection and used regularly. It has history going as far back as 1996 with specialists Colin Clarke and Emblem Sports Cars with a major service including cambelt change in 2017 at 15,843km with the current odometer reading 15,962 which is believed to be genuine. The owner has recently carried out a minor service, checkover and MoT which was done in February 2024. Everything works as it should we are informed and the car is featured in Landsem's 'The Lamborghini Urraco' and it comes with a fitted indoor car cover. A superb example of this sought after Italian marque which are becoming more difficult to find. Consigned by James Good.

1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:108800Mercedes-Benz revived one of its most famous model designations of all time when it introduced the new 300 SL in 1985. However, on this occasion the newcomer was not a thinly disguised sports racer but the latest in a noble line of six-cylinder luxury Gran Turismos stretching back to the 230 SL of 1963 which was distinguished by its distinctive optional hardtop that earned the model its nickname 'Pagoda top'. When the Type 113 finally finished with the 280 SL in 1971, it was replaced by the V8 engined Type 107, there would not be a six-cylinder model in the range for a further nine years, this changed in 1980 with the launch of the new 280 SL. This used the same twin overhead camshaft engine as the other '280' models which gave 185bhp and a top speed of 127mph. When the 300 SL took over in 1985, it came with a single camshaft engine that produced a mere three horsepower more at the top end, the main gains over the superseded engine being a useful increase in torque and a marked reduction in fuel consumption. This lovely, UK supplied 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is presented in exceptional all-round condition, having been meticulously cared for and dry stored in a private collection for the past seven years and has only incurred minimal mileage. The paintwork finished in Champagne Gold with a matching hardtop is in very good condition throughout. The box pleated seats with eared headrests in supply perforated brown leather and is fitted with the optional rear seat in matching leather. The car has been fully maintained shown by the stamped service book with 23 stamps. Fully recommissioned in less than 1000 miles ago including the brakes fully serviced and reconditioned with new front callipers and new brake fluid. Fitted with 'Gullideckel' alloy wheels, this lovely 300 SL is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2024, the owners' manual, fully stamped service book, a file containing the servicing invoices, two sets of keys and a updated Blaupunkt Memphis audio unit with Bluetooth connectivity. The timeless lines and design of the R107 SL series still looks elegant and contemporary, with this car's exceptional condition it is one to consider if looking for a very usable classic for the summer. Consignor John Tomlin.

1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:32000The Jaguar XK120 was manufactured between 1948 and 1954; Jaguar's first sports car since the SS100, which ceased production in 1940. The XK120 was launched in roadster form at the 1948 London Motor Show as a show car for the new Jaguar XK engine. It caused a sensation thus persuading Jaguar founder and design boss William Lyons to put the car into production. The '120' in its name referred to its 120mph top speed which made the XK120 the world's fastest standard production car at the time of its launch. It was available in two open versions; first as the roadster then also as a drophead coupé from 1953 and also as a closed, or 'fixedhead' coupé from 1951. With an alloy cylinder head and twin side-draft SU carburettors, the double overhead-cam 3.4 litre straight-six XK engine was comparatively advanced for mass-produced units of its time. This same basic design of the XK engine, later modified into 3.8 litre and 4.2 litre versions, survived late into the 1980s.Manufactured in August 1950, this XK120 Roadster is one of the earliest XK's built in steel after the factory moved away from aluminium over an ash frame. Notable features indicating this as an early car include the separate chrome side lights, the lack of wing vents, the early 'studless' cam cover engine and tall carburettor dashpots. Built at the Browns Lane Jaguar factory in Coventry, the accompanying letter from Jaguar Heritage confirms that the car was sold directly and shipped to Brylaw Motors of Melbourne, Australia. The car remained in Australia up until the late 1980's when the owner, a Mr. Hall shipped the car back to the UK when his job for Coca-Cola took him from the South Pacific region to Europe. He later went on to become Vice President of Coca-Cola in Europe and presumably, this influenced the decision to move. The car boasts an impressive specification including a five-speed gearbox, telescopic shock absorber upgrade, polyurethane suspension bushes, aluminium fuel tank, electric Kenlow cooling fan, adjustable electric power steering, aluminium sports bucket seats, Brooklands wind deflectors, recessed Monza style fuel filler cap, bonnet strap and bonnet louvres. To add to all this, the car has also benefitted from recently being repainted to a high level in British Racing Green and retrimmed in tan leather. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is only offered for sale to fund a new acquisition.Supplied with a V5C registration document and file of receipts amongst other information. The Roadster version of the beautiful XK120 has always been the most coveted of the XK120 line up and to find such an early car with subtle, but practical modifications is a rare find. 1997 Honda NSX Transmission: automaticMileage:65000The Honda NSX was produced between 1990 and 2005 and is equipped with a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout powered by an all-aluminium V6 featuring Honda's Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system. In 1984, Honda commissioned the Italian car designer Pininfarina to design the HPX (Honda Pininfarina Experimental), which had a mid-mounted 2.0 litre, V6 configuration. Following Honda's decision to pursue the project, the management informed the engineers that the new car would have to be as good as anything coming from both Italy and Germany. The HPX concept car evolved into the NSX (New Sportscar experimental). The original performance target for the NSX was the Ferrari 328; subsequently revised to the 348 as the design neared completion. The bodywork design had been specifically researched after studying the 360° visibility inside an F-16 fighter jet. The car's strong chassis, rigidity and handling capabilities were the results of Ayrton Senna's input with NSX's chief engineers while testing the prototype car at Honda's Suzuka Circuit during the development stages. Today, the NSX is still considered by owners of the marque as one of the most reliable exotic cars ever manufactured with many examples comfortably exceeding 100,000 miles without serious reliability issues.Originally registered on 14th January 1997 this UK supplied right hand drive automatic example is presented in the rare colour combination of Charlotte Green Metallic with biscuit leather trim. A well maintained example owned by our vendor whom is a collector of Honda's flagship 90's sports cars having another three in the collection. Offered to auction with the cherished number E5 NSX this car has also been treated to recent new tyres, an MoT certificate valid until January 2025 and in 2023 it had a major service before January this year having another annual service with Honda Cardiff, with two-year intervals and comparably cheap servicing and maintenance costs making this an incredibly frugal iconic sports car to own. Boasting a relatively low 65,000 miles from new this NSX has just about been run in and offered in a very attractive and rare colour combination presents as an attractive collectable example. 1997 Rover Mini John Cooper Sports Touring Transmission: manualMileage:63000When it was launched in 1959 the Mini became an instant favourite at every level of society, and soon became a motorsport champion across multiple racing genres, partly thanks to John Cooper Garages, who having homed their skills in Formula 1 began modifying the car for more performance, becoming an authorised upgrade from the factory. By the 1990s there were glossy brochures showing all the available options for upgrading your Mini with Cooper Garages while keeping your new car warranty, whether you wanted cosmetic, interior, handling or engine upgrades, Cooper had you covered so you could make the infinity customisable Mini as individual as you wanted. The Sport 5 was a conversion offered by John Cooper Garages, which boosted power to 86bhp. This version featured, as standard, a five-speed Jack Knight Designs gearbox, which helped to maximise the extra performance of the reworked engine. The Mini Cooper S Touring was virtually the same as the Sport 5, both conversions added unique side decals and other exclusive details. These conversions could also be fitted to non-Cooper MPi Minis and limited editions, although the majority were added to Cooper models. Both conversions were approved by Rover as factory conversions in 1999.This 1997 Sports Touring presented in British Racing Green boasts the five-speed Jack Knight Designs gearbox and upgraded power unit from John Cooper Works. The optional John Cooper deep leather bucket seats adorn the interior as does the leather door cards, sunroof and wood veneer trim finish. Supplied with the bookpack and importantly conversion certificate, this example was put into storage in 2016 as special Mini prices began to increase and has been fully recommissioned this year. The odometer has been changed but this was denoted correctly on the MoT test certificate with the true mileage 63,000. Offered with an MoT test certificate and those iconic Mini spotlights, this is a fast, rare, iconic and yet luxury 90's Mini we think certain to appreciate in value with just three former keepers. Consignor Mathew Priddy.

1990 BMW M5 Transmission: manualMileage:275473Just like the Jaguar Mk. II had done in the 1960's, the BMW M5, effectively reinvented the popular notion of a sports Saloon. Based on the E34 chassis which was produced at BMW's Dingolfing plant. The E34 generation of the M5 was produced from September 1988 to 1995. It was hand-built at BMW M GmbH in Garching, Germany. Assembly was carried out either by a single M employee or a team of M employees and generally took about two weeks. In the second half of 1991, engine displacement was increased to 3.8 litres with the S38B38. Power was now increased to 335bhp and the E34 M5 was the last M5 to feature an engine with a historical link to a BMW Motorsport racing engine. An E34 M5 was raced in the Australian 1992 Bathurst 12 Hour Production Car endurance race, placing 2nd overall and 1st in class. It was driven by former F1 champion Alan Jones, Neville Crichton and BMW Touring car driver, Tony Longhurst. This E34 M5 comes to us from a significant collector of classic cars. Presenting well with good black coachwork, the black leather interior is also in good order. Clearly this has been a well-cared for car taking into account the condition and the age of the car. We are advised she drives well although has been used sparingly of late. Having been imported from the Netherlands and in left hand drive guise, this BMW is UK registered, coming with a V5C registration document and we are advised will be presented for an MoT test prior to the auction. Few cars are as exciting to drive as an E34 M5, a saloon car with, by any standards, brisk performance. This is a well-presented example of one of the most iconic cars of the period. 1969 Ford Cortina Mk.II 1600E Transmission: manualMileage:40948The second incarnation of the Cortina was designed by Roy Haynes and was launched on 18th October 1966. One of the best loved versions of that Cortina appeared in 1967, the 1600E, which was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October of that year. The mechanical specification included an 88bhp, 1600cc Cortina GT engine which achieved a fuel consumption of 25 miles per gallon. The 1600E interior came equally well equipped and included special rear bucket seats, reclining front seats, sports steering wheel, extra instruments and wood trim. Production ended in 1970 and, despite attempts at reviving the idea of an 'Executive' version of other, later models, Ford never recaptured the original feel of the Cortina Mk. II based 1600E. For 1969, the Mk. II model was given subtle revisions with separate 'FORD' block letters mounted on the bonnet and boot lid, a blacked-out grille and chrome strips above and below the rear lights running the full width of the rear panel on the Series II.This fabulous example of the much loved 1600E is presented in white with black well-kept trim both surmountable with the age and mileage.  First registered on 6th March 1969 to the original owner who was a  lady in Dorset and  we are informed that this car spent much of its life as a local runabout before slowly becoming resigned to the garage as a new car took over. After a few years and looking sorry for itself,  we believe the owner decided to trade it to a local garage, naturally they didn't register it to themselves and decided to clean, service and give it a new lick of paint, once completed they then put it on the forecourt where by chance the lady owner drove past and saw it, fell in love all over again and insisted she purchased it back! Back in her ownership where it remained until 2012,  when in her older years the car had to be sold to our now owner and enthusiast. Naturally for a period of its life,  the car had been in little or at best, local use, so the mileage is incredibly low for a 54 year old car and in the history file is a letter from the original owner warranting the mileage on the 1st October 2013 coupled to original service and handbooks and sales brochure. More recently the car has undergone a full recommissioning and service which included new hoses, clutch master and slave cylinder, a full service and fully recommissioned brakes for which invoices can also be found in the history file. 1988 MG Metro Transmission: manualMileage:19279The MG Metro was introduced in May 1982 some 18 months after the closure of the MG factory at Abingdon. MG's first attempt at the then new 'hot hatch' era, it was the perception of many manufacturers that most car buyers were concerned, open top two seat sports cars were something from the past. The MG Metro boasted some quite positive features for the day including the standard use of powerful servo assisted brakes using four-pot calipers up front, very competitive performance and superb economy courtesy of the responsive and well proven A+ series engine. With around 120,000 made between 1982 and 1990, most are of the facelift variant launched in October 1984 where the bonnet line was lowered and streamlined, and a new interior and dash moulding was introduced. This lovely, rust free 1988 MG Metro is completely original and is believed to have covered less than 20,000 miles from new, this would seem to be correct by its lovely condition and the MoT history going back to 2006. Finished in black with the original side decals and grey cloth seats it has the correct red carpets and seat belts. This MG Metro is supplied with a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate which expires in February 2025. This is an iconic car which is being offered at no reserve. Price guide £6,000-£9,000. Consignor John Tomlin.

1988 Porsche 944 Turbo SE Transmission: manualMileage:91684The Porsche 944 was built from 1982 to 1991 and was built on the same platform as the 924. It was intended to last into the 1990's but major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were eventually rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944. In 1988, Porsche introduced the 944 Turbo S with a more powerful engine 250bhp 258 lb‹…ft of torque at 4,000rpm. This higher output was achieved by using a larger KKK K26-8 turbocharger housing and revised engine mapping which allowed maintaining maximum boost until 5800rpm, top speed was factory rated at 162mph. The post 1985 cars, turbos and S variants are considered more desirable than the earlier cars, having improved interiors, suspensions and engines, together with a limited slip differential and larger brakes. The example we have here is believed to be one of only 70 UK supplied Turbo SE derivatives and is believed to possibly be unique in its specification of Guard Red with Beige Porsche script interior and no sunroof. The Turbo SE is equipped with 'M030' sports suspension, uprated brakes and 'M220' limited slip differential, meaning it is truly built for the drivers and offers far better handling than a regular Turbo. The car has had ludicrous amounts of money spent on it in recent years, the previous owner spent £19,841 at Porsche Hatfield in July 2021! The work undertaken was quite clearly very extensive and amounts to 10 pages of invoices, including a brand new steering rack, new brakes, new exhaust muffler and many more Porsche parts, the final total would suggest they were told to go right through the car and make sure it was 'spot on'. The engine had a rebuild in 2017 due to some damage found on the cylinder head due to a head gasket failure, which resulted in the decision to carry out a rebuild which totalled £11,600! Less than 10,000 miles have been covered since. Our vendor is the MD of a very highly regarded bodyshop and he had his team strip the car right down and carry out a full respray to a very high standard, as his intention was to keep the car for a long period of time, but circumstances have since changed. As a result, the car now presents in excellent order throughout and the exterior is very hard to fault, the work carried out totalled circa £15,000. The interior is likely all original and is in excellent shape, with some minor wear to the drivers seat base bolster, but nothing which would cause too much stress. The car was recorded as a Category C in 1998, when values would have been particularly low. The vendor said that during the strip down and re-paint, they found that a repair had previously been made to the rear left corner of the car, which looked to have been carried out to a high standard in the first place. The team made sure the car was all straight and correct and with all of the money that has been lavished upon this car in recent years, it's distant past becomes largely forgotten and the car is now one which can be used and enjoyed safe in the knowledge that almost every area has been attended to in the not so distant past. Supplied with a V5C registration document, MoT test certificate and a comprehensive history folder, this exceedingly rare Porsche is offered with no reserve and should not be missed. Consignor Fraser SmithGuide: £15,000-£20,000

1971 Porsche 911T Transmission: manualMileage:89170The original Porsche 911 was introduced in autumn 1963 and was manufactured and continuously developed until 1989. It was then succeeded by a modified version, internally referred to as Porsche 964, but still sold as Porsche 911, as are current models. Mechanically, the 911 was notable for being rear engine and air-cooled and, from its inception, the 911 was modified both by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other types of competition. The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won the 24 Hours Le Mans and other major sports car races outright against prototypes. Early 1970's models are perhaps some of the most sought-after, with the narrower bumpers which are especially popular and deemed more attractive on the early 911 with a style that modern 'restomod' or backdated styles such as Singer replicate. This example was purchased by our vendor from Japan in 2020 and it made the perfect candidate for a sympathetic restoration given how good of a starting point it already was. It is understood that the car was originally an Irish Green example but at some point had been repainted in white, so a full bare metal respray was undertaken, with photographs documenting the process. The body has been finished to an excellent standard. The interior also presents in fantastic condition, with a brand-new pair of Cobra Stuttgart seats trimmed in black vinyl and black corduroy, which suit the car perfectly. A new headlining was fitted along with new carpets and many other parts all leading to a car which presents superbly throughout. Our vendor has owned a large number of Porsches over the years and decided after driving the car that the engine performed exceptionally well and did not require any further attention. The car is supplied with an MoT test certificate valid until June 2024, a V5C registration document and many invoices for various parts throughout the build process. This is an excellent example of an early air-cooled 911 and is offered without reserve. Consignor Fraser SmithGuide Price £50,000-£60,000

1956 Jaguar XK140 Fixedhead Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:16419The Jaguar XK140 SE Fixedhead Coupé was a sports car produced by Jaguar Cars between 1954 and 1957. It was an updated version of the previous model the XK120, with several improvements including more interior space, improved brakes and steering, and a revised suspension system. The SE version was even more powerful, with a C-type cylinder head and dual exhaust system, producing 210bhp. The XK140 SE Fixedhead Coupé was a stunning car to look at, with its sleek and aerodynamic design. It featured a long bonnet, flowing wings, and a curved roofline that gave it a sporty and elegant look. The interior was equally impressive, with leather seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a stylish dashboard. With its powerful engine and agile handling, the XK140 SE Fixedhead Coupé was a joy to drive. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around eight seconds and had a top speed of 125 mph, making it one of the fastest cars of its time. It was also a comfortable and refined car to drive, with a smooth ride and excellent noise insulation. This loverly Jaguar XK140 Fixedhead Coupé was first registered on the 22nd June 1956. The car was originally painted in Pearl Grey, as confirmed in the original buff log book. The car has been subject to a couple of cosmetic restorations and 'Special Equipment' upgrades including knock-on wire wheels, twin fog lamps and windscreen washers, the car is also fitted with a dual exhaust system. The unique feature of this XK140 by far is the non-factory sunroof that would have been fitted shortly after the car was built. This is an exceptionally rare, period modification to be found on XK`s and we are told is waterproof! Many enthusiasts have pointed out that they have never seen such a sunroof in metal on a XK140 and only one ever on a XK150. The car has a vast history file with invoices dating back to 1987. A bare metal respray to red was carried out on the car in 2003 totalling around £42,500 and there are photographs on file showing this process. The car was then most recently restored again in 2017 to return the car to it's original specification, being painted Pearl grey and an expensive retrim in blue leather. The car has benefitted from continuous expenditure on it in the last 30 years on top of these restorations, the latest carried out in late 2023 when the rear brakes were overhauled, and the front brakes uprated to disc brakes. A delightful car offering the best of both worlds with almost open-air motoring for those summer days and closed for those chilly autumnal days.

1983 Maserati Merak SS Transmission: manualMileage:51000The Maserati Merak was introduced in 1972, essentially a lighter version of the Maserati Bora. It substituted an all-new Maserati designed quad-cam, three litre, V6 motor for the Bora's larger V8; resulting not only in a lower cost but with room for a small back seat and better handling due to lower weight and a better front/rear weight distribution. Aesthetically, the Merak differed from the otherwise very similar Bora; mainly in sporting open flying buttresses instead of the Bora's fully glassed rear, the mid-engine Merak used the Bora bodyshell but the extra space offered by the smaller engine was used to carve out a second row of seats suitable for children. As with the Bora, certain Citroën hydraulic systems were used such as the brakes, clutch, and headlight pods. This superb example of this sought after Italian sports car is presented in Celeste Chiaro with blue leather interior. This was one of the very last chassis numbers built and was registered in August 1983. It was specially ordered from new with metallic paint, black carpets, black leather centre console, electric windows, air conditioning, Campagnolo wheels and Dynatrol rust treatment. The present owner purchased the car in 2004 and has had it stored in a dehumidified storage facility as part of his significant Italian car collection, using the car regularly. It's history which goes back as far as 1987 including invoices with work carried out by Emblem Sports Cars and Bill McGrath who fully recommissioned the car when the current owner purchased it. The history file also contains full Maserati Classiche documents, original 'End of Line' data sheet, road test document and delivery note to Modena Concessionaires Ltd in the UK. This Maserati has just had a recent minor service, checkover and MoT which was carried out in February 2024. This car is featured in Maserati €“ the Citroën Years by Marc Sonnery (copy included) and the car comes with a fitted indoor car cover. Consigned by James Good.

1960 MG A Roadster (Twincam) Transmission: manualMileage:Arguably one of the prettiest British sports cars ever built, the 'A' must have come as quite a shock to MG aficionados when it was first shown to the world in September 1955 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Having become accustomed to the pre-war look of the company's sports cars, it was a complete departure in styling and its beautiful streamlined body was right up to the minute in terms of appearance. Powered by a new engine; MG had decided that the old XPAG unit had had its day and so introduced a much more modern B Series engine that had made its debut in the recently announced Magnette Saloon. The car's design dates back to 1951, when MG designer Syd Enever created a streamlined body for George Philips' TD Le Mans car but it was worth the wait for this timeless beauty.Originally built as a left hand drive export car to the US, this MGA was repatriated to the UK in 1990. Upon returning to the UK the car underwent a body-off restoration and was converted to right hand drive guise. The engine was removed and a 2.0 Litre Rover 200 T-series, M16T twincam, 16 valve unit was fitted, producing circa 200 bhp. A five-speed gearbox was also fitted, along with coilover front suspension and uprated brakes including a servo. This handsome MGA is also fitted with 72-spoke chrome wire wheels and leather seats. An impressive history file, dating back to 1983 comes with this MGA as does a V5C registration document and a Heritage Certificate. The phrase that comes to mind is 'a wolf in sheep's clothing'. This lovely MGA is ready to enjoy straight away, either on rallies or local jaunts, who's going to be lucky enough to enjoy it? Consignor Stewart Banks

1964 Jaguar Mk. X (3.8 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:36000The Jaguar Mk. X was the top of the range saloon built by the British manufacturer primarily aimed at the US market. The unitary construction body-shell was codenamed 'Zenith' during development and this floor pan continued in production long after production ended. The interior was the last Jaguar with abundant standard woodwork, including the dashboard, escutcheons, window trim, a pair of large book-matched fold-out rear picnic tables and a front seat pull-out picnic table stowed beneath the instrument cluster. It was also the first Jaguar saloon to feature independent rear suspension and differed from earlier large Jaguar saloons in having 14 wheels instead of the more common 15. The car initially featured a 3,781cc version of Jaguar's XK in-line, six-cylinder engine. For the London Motor Show in October 1964, the enlarged 4,235cc unit took over although the 3.8 litre unit could still be specified until October 1965. Stopping power for this heavy car came from servo assisted disc-brakes on all four wheels; power assisted steering was standard.Presented in Silver metallic with sumptuous red full leather interior, this example was first registered on 1st August 1964 and specified with the rare and desirable manual with overdrive gearbox. Owned from new for some 43 years, this example has had just one former keeper. Since 2007 the car has been well maintained and now boasts an upgraded XJ6 series III gearbox with synchromesh on all gears, full stainless steel exhaust built by Ian Stewart, 3-2-1 distributer, new electric fuel pump and sits on a matching set of Michelin tyres. The history file shows that in February 2023 the car benefitted from recommissioning work including service and brake service. The history file is comprehensive with significant history dating back to 1964, also supplied with the Jaguar 3.8 Mk. X service manual, spare tyre, jack, toolkit and a period look uprated radio and rear picnic tables. The Mk. X is a wonderful car that was utilised by celebrities and gangsters alike and today is still an imposing classic which has proved to be very collectable and with a sports exhaust and triple carburettors it provides great performance while ample space for the family€¦or friends. 1995 Porsche 968 Sport Transmission: manualMileage:100036The UK-only version called '968 Sport' was offered in 1994 and 1995, it formed part of the run of 1,923 968 ClubSports produced by Porsche in that period. Although badged as '968 Sports' in the UK, all are genuine 'ClubSports' with the luxury package option, which included electric front windows, rear seats, a sunroof and other 'refinements' such as cloth comfort seats (different from both the standard and the ClubSport). With the added electrics, the larger wiring loom was used and the Sport variant also got back the two rear seats, again in the cloth material specific to the Sport. This 968 Sport was originally registered on 3rd February 1995. It has in recent times been modified for track use, although it is still road legal. Fitted with a welded-in half rollcage from Rollcentre Racing, and a Momo Racing Line steering wheel and an under bonnet torsion bar. Finished in the Rothmans/Porsche livery this Porsche is certainly an eye-catching example. Under the bonnet is the 3.0-litre 16-valve inline-four, which produces 237bhp and drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. Amongst the car's other performance modifications are a stainless-steel exhaust, uprated M030 anti-roll bars, Gaz adjustable coilover dampers, 993-turbo specification 'Big Red' front brakes (CompBrake) and longer front wheel studs, allowing spacers to be fitted if required. Supplied with a V5C registration document, we are advised the car will be presented for an MoT prior to auction. A selection of invoices come with the car confirming the timing belt was last changed in 2018 in November 2018 by Ninex Motorsport. More recent work has been carried out by marque specialist RSR. This Porsche 968 Sport is a tastefully modified example of the sought-after UK-market sports car, with eye-catching livery. It is offered in entirely usable condition and would make a fine entrant for track days thanks to its various motorsport-focused enhancements. Consignor Stewart Banks

1964 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda Transmission: automaticMileage:97669The Mercedes-Benz W113 roadsters, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through to 1971 with their distinctive 'pagoda' hardtop roof giving them their contemporary nick name. All models feature an inline six-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection using a mechanical pump system adapted from the diesel engine. All are rear-wheel drive and are also equipped with independent rear suspension, a feature that greatly improved road handling. These SL's were typically sold with a soft top and an optional removable hardtop; the so-called 'Coupé/Roadster' configuration. The 230 SL made its debut at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 where Technical Director Fritz Nallinger introduced it as follows, It was our aim to create a very safe and fast sports car with high performance which, despite its sports characteristics, provides a high degree of travelling comfort. Mercedes-Benz Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, who was as competent behind the wheel as most racing drivers, demonstrated the capabilities of the 230 SL on a tight short racetrack near Montreux in 1963 where he put up a best lap time of 47.5 seconds and, incidentally, out-performed Mike Parkes in his three litre V12 Ferrari 250GT. This example was imported and first registered in the UK in January 2014 and was acquired by the current vendor since 8th June 2015. Residing in the current vendors private collection this 230SL is presented in green paintwork over a tan leather interior and has been maintained where necessary. Offered with a history file containing various sundry bills and invoices and the current UK registration document. This is an opportunity not to be missed. Consignor, Daniel Godin

An outstanding one owner from new 2007 Corvette C6 with just 16,628 recorded miles. The Chevrolet Corvette came of age with the C6 generation. This was the model that finally stopped all the jokes about American sports cars being unable to go round corners and with a great chassis, superb V8 engines and a competition record to rival the very best, the Corvette C6 is undoubtedly a serious sports car. It’s predecessor, the C5 was unquestionably fabulous to look at but didn’t fare too well in the UK. With 345bhp, it was certainly fast but was just too big and unwieldy for British roads. Only available in left-hand drive, it wasn’t a comfortable experience to be brushing the kerb on the nearside with your offside wing mirror in the opposite lane. For the C6, GM reasoned finally that to keep its legend alive it had to compete head on with the very best the Europeans could offer, hence the new Corvette was lighter, smaller and significantly faster than the model it replaced, not to mention better-made, more economical and a great deal more sophisticated beneath the skin. They redesigned the car’s underpinnings, concentrating on trying to emulate European standards of ride and handling and the entire design was focused on making the C6 'smaller, lighter, more agile and just plain faster across the ground', which is why its wheelbase has increased by 30mm despite the overall length and width shrinking by 125mm and 25mm respectively. The C6 is also around 100kg lighter than before at just 1,517kg, despite bigger 18" wheels at the front and 19" at the rear. This impressive 2007 model-year Corvette C6 Coupé is superbly finished in Victory Red with a contrasting Chamois Cashmere interior and was purchased in 2006 by its one and only owner, from the Rydell Automotive Group, Van Nuys, California with an additional $8,040 spent to achieve the very best specification. Motivation is provided by the formidable 6-litre LS2 engine offering 400bhp and 542Nm of torque attached to the desirable 6-speed manual gearbox and a host of options were added including the Z51 Performance Package providing enhanced braking and suspension, the dual-roof option and a 3.42 rear axle ratio. As an engineer, our vendor has carried out all service requirements including regular oil and brake fluid changes safe in the knowledge that it would be completed with more care and attention that if dealer-serviced. Viewing the car in the metal will confirm his due diligence in this matter and, with a recorded mileage at the time of viewing of just 16,628 miles, this C6 will be difficult to better. Returning to the UK in 2014 after 30 or so years living and working in America, the Corvette had clearly become part of the family and accompanied them on their trip back here, being correctly registered upon arrival and now supplied with a current V5C registration document and an MOT certificate valid until 17th October 2024. An outstanding one-owner, low-mileage example that is worthy of your earliest inspection which is welcomed and encouraged.Specification Make: CHEVROLET Model: CORVETTE C6 Year: 2007 Chassis Number: 1G1YY26U075112465 Registration Number: HT56 VBA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 16628 Miles Make: Only LHD Interior Colour: Chamois Cashmere HideClick here for more details and images

Arena Red UK-supplied (C16) 993 Turbo with just 64,174 miles from new and fresh from long term storage. The 993 Turbo, introduced in mid-1995, retained a tight hold on the torch of the most powerful 911 variant whilst continuing the general developments and improvements to the breed as a whole. Amongst the new features was an electronically controlled viscous coupling all-wheel drive system, something Porsche had not offered on a turbocharged model since the 959 and a system that greatly improved the car's usability. Under the engine lid, now topped with a sculpted spoiler tail with downturned edges, resided the 3.6-litre flat-six fed by twin K16 turbos. Combined with bigger brakes, fatter tires, a wide body and a lower stance, the 993 Turbo had evolved into one of the fastest cars on the planet. With all four wheels helping to evenly distribute great handfuls of power, 0-60mph was dispatched in a staggering 3.7 seconds, 100mph whistled by in 5.7 seconds, and the linear forward thrust continued until the speedometer needle had said goodbye to 180mph and you were on conversational terms with the horizon. This UK (C16) Porsche 993 Turbo was supplied new by Chapelgate, the Official Porsche Centre in Ferndown Dorset in August 1996 in Arena Red with complementing interior and various factory options including electric sports seats. The stamped service book shows 12 stamps at the correct intervals through to September 2010 when, at 63,399 miles, the car was put into storage. It was subsequently acquired in 2016 by our vendor who used it very sparingly, covering approximately 600 miles until November 2023, at which point an oil leak suggested it was time for an overhaul and mechanical refresh. The work was carried out by renowned Porsche specialist, William Francis, and included removing the fuel tank for flushing, new lines and filter. The rear was stripped to replace upper and lower cam-cover gaskets and new genuine lower cam-covers and the Turbos were reconditioned to OE specification with new oil feed pipes. New bumper stays and heat shields were fitted and Bilstein Dampers with new ARB links. New turbo hoses were fitted and to finalise the overhaul the Porsche was fully serviced and presented for a new MOT (November 2024) which it passed with 'no advisories'. The history file contains ten previous MOTs and a good assortment of invoices and it's supplied complete with the Porsche leather wallet containing all the Owners Manuals, a rare Tequipment Accessories book,  the original service book and both keys.Having spent seven years in a private Collection and now recently serviced and recommissioned, this 993 Turbo, a car that definitely defined 1990s supercars is truly worthy of inspection at this guide.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 993 TURBO Year: 1996 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99ZTS372442 Registration Number: P278 AAA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 61T04347 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 64174 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey LeatherClick here for more details and images

From the 'DJH Ford Collection', an exceptional RS500 in the rarest colour and benefitting from a recent £25,000 engine rebuild. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded evolution model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980's Fast Ford! Indeed, during the model's 30th anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows.More details on the RS500 can be found here: https://supercarnostalgia.com/blog/ford-sierra-cosworth-rs500?rq=RS500The car presented here is 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth (AMT #406 of 500/chassis #GG 38981) in Moonstone Blue, one of only 52 such examples ever produced – the rarest of the RS500s. It was despatched from Tickford on 3rd August 1987, first registered as E202 DFV on the 28th August 1987, and sold new through Bradshaws (Ford) of Preston to its first owner in Northamptonshire. It was subsequently serviced by E Ward (Ford) of Wellingborough, Northants on 3rd February 1988 (6,000-mile service) and again on 6th September 1988 at 11,573 miles. With all known subsequent keepers documented in the accompanying history file, the car was purchased by our vendor in 2021 having been sourced for him by RS500 expert Paul Linfoot of the RS500 Owners Club. The car's previous owner instructed Paul to carry out a bare-shell restoration which was completed in 2016. Prior to this work, the car was said be all original underneath, rust free and retaining its factory-stamped panels. Restored to a near-concours condition, the then-owner liked to trailer it to shows, driving it less than 50 miles during the next five years. The mileage now, supported by invoices and MOT Certificates, is a highly conservative 54,230.Our vendor wanted an RS500 in Moonstone Blue (to sit alongside his Black example, which he’s owned since 1990), perhaps harping back to the love of his original Cosworth, a regular 3-door RS Cosworth also in Moonstone (which he part-exchanged for his Black RS500). Wanting the car mechanically as good as its bodywork, our vendor entrusted Jim Stokes Workshops of Hampshire with a full engine rebuild. The process was exacting, costing c.£25,000 and was fully documented in invoices, plus dozens of photos and a video (all in the accompanying history file). The engine is now in superb condition, run-in with around 1,000 miles covered and the gearbox was also given a thorough overhaul, making the drivetrain perform as well as you’d hope. It’s accompanied by a replacement genuine RS500 book-pack, including handbooks and an unused service booklet (sadly, the car’s original pack was misplaced over the years). Without doubt, a superb example of the legendary RS500 which is highly rated by marque specialist Paul Linfoot. This is a real opportunity to become a member of an exclusive club of RS500 owners at a very attractive guide.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS500 COSWORTH Year: 1987 Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG38981 Registration Number: E501 LBT Transmission: Manual Engine Number: YBD0207 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 54230 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

The diminutive A110, a charismatic sports car and rally legend; fresh from a recent restoration and a 'hot' Gordini engine and 5-speed gearbox. Perhaps the most celebrated Alpine-Renault ever produced was the A110, introduced in 1962 as the replacement to the Dauphine-based A108. The A110 experienced a remarkable evolution in terms of power output throughout its production years, utilising a succession of Renault engines and related mechanicals. The model proved to be highly successful in rallying and, in 1969, A110s swept the top three positions in the Coupe des Alpes and one finished third in the Rallye Monte Carlo in both 1969 and 1970. The Alpine-Renault's competition record continued to improve throughout the following years, winning the World Rally Championship in 1971 and 1973.The 'Version 85' of the A110 was marketed by the company as an entry-level model when it was first introduced in 1970. Sourced from the Renault 12, the 1,300cc four-cylinder engine produced a credible 81bhp and, with a curb weight of just 700kg, the little Alpine was good for over 110mph and highly exciting to drive. The V85 had been renamed the '1300' by the time the model was discontinued in 1976, at which point some 2,890 examples had been produced over the model's six-year production run.The car presented here is a Dieppe-built 1972 Alpine A110 1300 VC (V85) 'Berlinette' or Coupé. It's on offer from a vendor who is extremely well-informed about 'everything A110', owning another example - an ex-works car, no less. Due to his knowledge and enthusiasm for the marque, he was informed of this car, chassis #12943, found slumbering in a barn and wearing registration OAB 139K. Apparently, it was first registered in the UK in August 1997 and the final recorded MOT was dated 30th July 1999.It was rediscovered in a sort of 'Targa-spec', having possibly been campaigned in some way, but hadn’t turned a wheel in over 20 years. An old Certificat d'Assurance and tax disc affixed to its windscreen suggest it was still being used (wearing registration 6114 TJ 95) in 1997-98 (so just prior to it coming to the UK) in the Val-d'Oise Département, located just north of Paris (this is further confirmed by an accompanying 1995 invoice made out to an owner in Bezons). Seeing the car's inherent quality and state of preservation, our vendor bought it and set about having it fully recommissioned, new suspension, painted and properly set up on a rolling road, spending c.£25,000 in the process. The attention to detail has been exacting - it was hard not to be with his love of Alpines - and the end result certainly shows this.Alpines, because of their rallying credentials, are often evolved over the years by owners for competition (or semi-competition) activities and interestingly this car's engine appears to be the rarer Gordini 1.3-litre 4-pot (with a special head) giving a very healthy 110bhp, paired with a 5-speed gearbox, all very desirable features for an A110, and confirmed by our vendor’s knowledgeable mechanic.Overall, this is a rare and desirable car, on offer from a real marque expert and is an exciting opportunity for its new owner to write the next chapter in the story of #12943.Specification Make: ALPINE Model: A110 1300VC V85 BERLINETTE Year: 1972 Chassis Number: 12943 Registration Number: OAB 139K Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: LHDClick here for more details and images

A simply incredible example with just 1,179 miles from new, family ownership and in truly amazing condition that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Back in 1999, if you wanted a back-to-basics roadster that was quick, handsome and had a stiff chassis with 50/50 weight distribution, you didn’t have too many options. The MX-5 wasn’t far off, but you could hardly call that quick – and the MG F was little-better.Before the S2000, roadsters generally came with scuttle shake – that awful vibration of the windscreen and dash when you hit a bump – and Honda’s motorsport engineers, who were tasked with making the S2000, were determined to eliminate this. Their solution? The high X-bone frame. This steel monocoque chassis and body structure gave the S2000 levels of rigidity previously unheard of in open-top cars. There hadn't been a roadster with this level of focus on the driver since the Lotus Elise. The S2000's engine also set the Honda apart from the rest, producing 237bhp from a 2-litre block – impressive enough today, let alone back in 1999 – and it did so without forced induction. What’s more, the S2000 also revs to 9,000rpm and that four-pot is placed so far back in the engine bay, it technically made the Honda a front/mid-engine sports car. The car was available in GT-spec which included headlight washers, traction control, PAS, CD and a factory hardtopOffered here is probably an unrepeatable S2000 GT as it has covered an incredible 1,179 miles from new and presents as such. A UK-supplied right-hand drive car finished in Nürburgring Blue Metallic with a matching hardtop, complemented by a blue convertible roof with a black leather interior. Equipment includes an electrically-operated convertible roof (with stand and cover), heated rear window, air con, radio C/D player, electric windows and electrically-adjustable door mirrors.Despite the incredibly low mileage, the service book has been stamped a remarkable seven times and accompanying the car is the Owners Manuals, service book, tool kit, MOTs (current valid until June 2024) and service invoices. The car has been garaged from new and this is clear to see from its spectacular condition, which needs to be seen to be appreciated. The Honda was owned for the majority of its life by the brother of the low-mileage 205 GTI that’s also in our Race Retro sale and the family were clearly fastidious in how they looked after and stored their pride and joys. The Honda S2000 GT is becoming very collectable and quite right for such an involving sports car. This particular example will certainly be hard to repeat considering its condition, mileage and diligent history. A true 'best-of-breed' contender, we welcome and encourage your inspection at the Race Retro auction to fully appreciate the quality on offer.Specification Make: HONDA Model: S2000 GT Year: 2002 Chassis Number: JHMAP11302T201116 Registration Number: HG02 MLE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: F20C21021066 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 1178 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Blue convertible hood and a black leather-trimmed cabinClick here for more details and images

One of only 80 right-hand drive examples of these contemporary classic Jaguars from SVO with just 71 miles from new - simply incredible. In 2012, nearly 40 years after the E-Type's demise, Jaguar finally got around to announcing the long-awaited and much-rumoured F-Type, which would turn out to be a more worthy spiritual successor to its illustrious forbearer than either the preceding XK8 or, before that, the XJS. A front-engined, rear-wheel drive two-seater, the F-Type is built on an aluminium chassis, cleverly configured to minimise the transmission of noise and vibration to the passenger compartment, while its suspension is the supercar-standard arrangement of double wishbones all round, with adaptive dampers and adjustable settings. Multiple driving modes cater for different road conditions and driving styles. Unlike the E-Type, the F-Type was available with a wide variety of different power plants, ranging from a turbocharged 2-litre four via a 3-litre turbo V6 to a supercharged 5-litre V8. A ZF 8-speed paddle-shift semi-automatic transmission was standard on all models at first, with a 6-speed manual available later on the V6. The F-Type debuted at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012 in convertible form, with the fixed head coupé following in 2014. Nowadays it is de rigeur for car stylists to reference past models in their latest creations and to some observers, the coupé's rear recalled that of one of the rarest of E-Types: the low-drag factory racer. To cater for the sports car market's seemingly insatiable appetite for limited edition models, Jaguar launched the 400 Sport – produced for just one year – and Project 7, which would be built in a run of only 250 cars. Project 7 had first seen the light of day as a single-seater concept car shown at Goodwood, and so favourable was the reception that it was decided to press ahead with making a more practical two-seater production version. They soon sold out, with 80 assigned to customers in the UK. The 'Project 7' designation referenced Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins, while the 'Aero Haunch' behind the driver's head was an obvious nod towards the D-Type sports-racer responsible for three of those victories. An aggressive looking shallow-screen 'barchetta', Project 7 has all-aluminium bodywork and is powered by the 5-litre supercharged V8, uprated to produce 567bhp, 25bhp more than in the F-Type R. Coupled with a 45kg weight reduction, this makes Project 7 the fastest accelerating F-Type yet, with a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds. Like many of the current crop of supercars, Project 7 is electronically limited to a top speed of 186mph. With the exhaust butterflies open (there's a special console switch), the car emits a superb growl-bark that turns into a magnificent crackle on the overrun. It's the one thing that makes you want to slow down. The 'top-end running gear' includes the 8-speed paddle-shift auto 'box, electronic differential, carbon ceramic brakes, specially tuned suspension and unique settings for engine management and chassis stability control. SVO engineers also rebalanced and improved the car's rear-biased aerodynamic downforce by fitting side skirts and a large front splitter, while slightly reducing the effectiveness (and drag) of the boot lid wing. The result of Project 7's unique set of characteristics is a track-focused car capable of satisfying even the quickest of drivers. The car presented here is a 2015 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 with only 71 miles recorded so, effectively, a 'new' car. Acquired by our car-enthusiast vendor to form part of his Collection, it was supplied by Lancaster Jaguar of Sevenoaks, finished in the rather striking special order hue of Ultra Blue with a triple white stripe across the nose and was first registered on 24th December 2015.It sits on a set of special order, bright-forged, 20" Storm Black diamond-turned alloy wheels in front of bright yellow calipers. The car was optioned from new with Project 7 illuminated tread plates, four-point racing harnesses (on its Jet Black sports seats) and was supplied with a bespoke car cover, a scale model example, a leather hood bag, two keys and an immobiliser. It's fitted with the 'Jaguar Project 7 - one of 250' plaque and is accompanied by the rather lavish Dealer Book Pack containing its Certificate of Authenticity.Despite its micro-mileage, the car has been serviced by Lancaster Jaguar on 11th September 2017 (as their 16,000-mile service interval), again on 9th September 2021 at 70 miles (as their 48,000-mile service interval), again on 28th October 2022 at 70 miles (as their 80,000-mile service interval) and lastly on 23rd July 2023 at 70 miles. As you can imagine, this car's condition is simply spectacular. One of only 47 UK right-hand drive 'Touring' examples, manual gearbox, huge specification, GT Silver Metallic and just 14,200 miles from new. 'The GT3 is simply one of the most spectacularly immersive and engaging sports cars in the world, and the Touring treatment does nothing to change that. Instead, it glosses the GT3’s already towering appeal with a little of Porsche’s stellar heritage and a dollop of aesthetic restraint.' - CAR magazine. It is not perhaps just a coincidence that Porsche’s only other 911 model able to be specified as a ‘Touring’ was the illustrious 1971 911 2.7 RS - there had been plenty of suitable 911s during that time (including more than 18 years of the GT3) - but it shows just how special and highly regarded by Porsche the 991.1 GT3 Touring is.Porsche unveiled the 911 GT3 Touring Package, a more approachable alternative to the rare, expensive and totally focused 911 R, at a media function on the eve of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It was the latest in a line of road-friendly models aimed at purists intent on securing one of the last remaining 911 models powered by a naturally-aspirated engine. Porsche says the GT3 Touring Package is designed for 'enthusiasts who particularly value an understated appearance combined with a high level of driving enjoyment'.In fact, the GT3 Touring could even be considered a better car that the 911 R, as this Touring uses the newer 4-litre GT3 engine with its stiffer crank, new intakes and 9,000rpm redline (remember the R 4-litre goes to a paltry 8,500). Power is 493bhp, torque is 339lb/ft and the top speed is 196mph. It gets better too, as the GT3 Touring is manual, only aided and abetted by a mechanical limited-slip differential. The gearbox is said to offer 'particularly sporting shift characteristics', with 62mph coming up in 3.9 seconds and nearly 200mph - this truly is harking back to the spirit of those legendary air-cooled 911s from the mid-1970s.Further differences between the standard GT3 and the Touring are small but important; up front, it features the same bumper assembly and air ducts as Porsche's standard race-bred model. The rear, however, receives a more understated look, with the automatically deploying spoiler assembly from the standard 911 Carrera, complete with an additional Gurney Flap and a unique grille insert bearing a GT3 Touring logo.Other exterior touches include headlight washer system covers, highlights around the side windows, and sport exhaust tailpipes, all in silver although buyers could specify a so-called 'Black Exterior Touring Package' to change these elements to black. In a further departure from the standard 911 GT3, the internal headlight graphics and tail-light lenses are darkened in colour.Inside, the new model swaps the Alcantara accents of the standard car for genuine leather trim on the steering wheel, gear lever, door panel armrests, centre console storage compartment lid, and door handles. The seat centres are upholstered in black fabric, whilst the headrests feature an embossed Porsche logo. There are also black aluminium trim applications within the dashboard. The 911 GT3 Touring Package rolls on 20" centre-lock wheels - 9" in width up front and 12" in width at the rear and they are shod with 245/35 and 305/30 profile tyres respectively. Clothed in the same aluminium body as the 911 Carrera 4, the model is 44mm wider than the standard 911 Carrera and lowered suspension also sees it sit 25mm closer to the ground.Among other innovations is a rear-wheel steer function which points the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels for added agility at lower speeds and (comfortingly) in the same direction as the front wheels for greater longitudinal stability at higher speeds. The 2018 Porsche 911 (991.2) GT3 Touring presented here is one of 47 UK-market right-hand drive examples and was ordered with an enviable specification (full details below), including ceramic brakes, front lift system, interior carbon package and full bucket seats and is finished in Porsche’s signature GT Silver Metallic paintwork. It features bespoke chequered upholstery for the seat inserts – not dissimilar to ex-Top Gear presenter, Chris Harris', own 991.2 GT3 Touring, a car he has owned for many years and in which he has done over 50,000 miles, which he describes as - 'one of the best drivers' cars I’ve ever driven'.Our GT Silver car was supplied new through Porsche Centre Sheffield and received its first service there in July 2020 (at 213 miles), whilst a subsequent 111-point Porsche Check was conducted by Porsche Centre Preston in August 2021 (3,492 miles) at the time our vendor acquired the car. At just over 5,000 miles, the car was involved in a rain-induced spin, thankfully avoiding any third-party collision. Zurich Insurance and his local Porsche Centre set about its meticulous repair, using all-new OEM parts and, upon its completion, the car was selected to be inspected as part of a formal Porsche Workshop Compliance Audit, where it was deemed 'to Porsche specification' as good as new. The incident wasn’t worthy of any Insurance Categorisation and any HPI check or similar will display all clear. Obviously, all related paperwork and invoices are available for inspection. Our vendor has subsequently fully used and enjoyed the car, which has performed faultlessly ever since, for the next 10,000 miles or so, with the odometer currently indicating 14,200 miles. It was treated to its second service at Porsche Centre Reading in July 2022 (at 10,132 miles) with no major issues identified. The 991.2 GT3 Touring is quite rightly regarded as one of the best modern-era Porsche models – all the ingredients are there; how much longer will we see these sorts of cars? Brimming with technology but still with a healthy dose of analogue character to ensure the driver is still the driver. This is an opportunity to own a very rare and enormously capable 911 at a sensible guide price. The specification includes:039 F: Touring Package with exterior in Black450 F: Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB)454 F: Cruise control474 F: Front-axle lift system486 F: 6-speed GT sports manual transmission583 F: Smoking package749 F: Leather interior with stitching in red7X9 F: Reversing camera9VL F: BOSE® Surround Sound-SystemDFS F: Vehicle key painted with key pouch in leatherEKG F: Interior package carbon (including door trim strips)P11 F: Full bucket seats (leather-trimmed carbon fibre with Porsche crest embossed in Headrest)QR5 F: Sport Chrono PackageQV3 F: Digital RadioXAJ F: Side-skirts paintedXEY F: LED main headlights in black including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)XGT F: Wheels painted in Satin Black with wheel outer edge painted in Guards Red (since changed to silver)XYB F: Fuel filler cap with Aluminium-look finishSpecification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 991.2 GT3 TOURING Year: 2018 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99ZJS167140 Registration Number: YT18 EHS Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 005205 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 14200 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black leather Click here for more details and images

From the 'DJH Ford Collection', a remarkably original RS500 from a 34-year ownership, meticulously maintained and cherished by a true enthusiast. Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra body-shell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total, 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth. If the RS Cosworth was an homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Indeed, during the model's 30th anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows.More details on the RS500 can be found here: https://supercarnostalgia.com/blog/ford-sierra-cosworth-rs500?rq=RS500The car presented here is 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth (AMT #266 of 500/chassis #GG 39092) in Black, despatched from Tickford on 21st July 1987 to Hendy Ford of Southampton for sale, and first registered on 1st August 1987 as E500 JOR. Its first owner deciding on leasing it from the dealership, hence the original keeper is recorded as Hendy Lennox Leasing Ltd. Pleasingly, E500 JOR still wears its original Hendy Ford number plates, a rare Cosworth bonnet sticker, passenger footwell fire extinguisher, rear blinds, boot floor catch-net and (unused) parcel shelf and First Aid kit all still in situ - these items were fitted by Hendy Ford for reaching their sales quota. As the 1990s began, the car’s next keeper (our vendor) was the proud owner of a 'regular' Moonstone Blue 3-door Sierra RS Cosworth, however, in March 1990, keen to acquire the new 'halo' RS500 model, he approached his local dealership, Hendy Ford, and part-exchanged his 3-door for E500 JOR. He was to be its proud and diligent owner for the next 34 years. The car’s accompanying original service booklet shows its first owner had it routinely serviced with Hendy Ford, up to 19,600 miles, when our vendor bought it in 1990 (an accompanying sales invoice confirms). Our vendor continued this tradition of servicing at the supplying-dealership, before using Ford specialists Tremona Garage up to 2014 and stamps and invoices relate to that.Over the decades, E500 JOR was used and enjoyed, as these cars are meant to be, making trips around the UK and Europe. Always garaged, maintained and crucially, kept original, E500 JOR survives today as quite possibly one of the most original, genuine and unmolested RS500s we have ever offered for sale. Our vendor has always ensured that the timing belts were routinely replaced, and the car regularly serviced and this regular care has ensured that it has never needed an engine rebuild, painting or welding. It feels and looks all the better for it, not Concours obviously, but with a sincerity which is impossible to replicate. E500 JOR has now covered a conservative mileage of just 60,197, supported, quite remarkably, by every single MOT Certificate since July 1990 and is in amazingly original and wholesome condition – testament to having only ever had two owners, the second for almost 35 years.Being an RS500 devotee, our vendor has ensured that E500 JOR has made pilgrimages to Cosworth, enjoyed many outings with the RS Owners Club, been displayed at shows and featured in magazines. The accompanying history file includes an original and complete Ford book-pack, a spare key, every MOT Certificate since 1990, multiple period photos of E500 JOR, numerous invoices for servicing, maintenance and parts, RS500 material, club/specialist appraisals, a copy of a Tickford RS500 data sheet plus magazines featuring E500 JOR. Also, coming with the car is a specially commissioned Modatek 30th Anniversary Commemorative RS500 piston, #002 of only 30 produced, specially engraved with E500 JOR and Build #266 (see photos attached) - what a great addition to the car.Interestingly and by pure chance, a few years ago our vendor got to know the car's original owner and he was able to send our vendor an image of E500 JOR parked next to an Escort S1 RS Turbo, his son’s car. They got the two cars together again and mocked-up the same photo, in the same spot, some 30 years later (see photos attached). We understand that E500 JOR drives with a pure, unspoilt and original feel and, according to one RS500 expert, its engine is one of the best he’d ever encountered, high praise indeed. Trying to find classics cars like E500 JOR is getting much harder, let alone examples as rare and as sought-after as an RS500; what an opportunity this is, decades of care from a dedicated owner lavished on a car that is considered a 'high-water mark' in Ford’s enviable back-catalogue.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS500 COSWORTH Year: 1987 Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG39092 Registration Number: E500 JOR Transmission: Manual Engine Number: YBD0468 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 60197 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Championship-winning Martini-liveried B31 from long term ownership, continuously developed, very competitive, recently refreshed and in fantastic condition. Shy, intuitive engineer and vastly underrated driver, Derek Bennett, was once dubbed Britain’s Enzo Ferrari, yet his most stunning world-beating Chevron cars emerged from the gloom of a lofty old brick-built Lancashire cotton mill in Bolton’s Old Chorley Road. The Chevron story officially started with a pair of beautifully built front-engined sports cars for the quirky new Clubmans Formula of 1965. Bennett himself started a tradition by winning the model’s debut race at Kirkistown in Northern Ireland, but the prototype GT cars which followed paved the marque’s way to international stardom. The ubiquitous B6 and B8 coupes of 1967 and 1968 took the world by storm, particularly with 2-litre BMW 2002 engines, enabling pecunious privateers to take on the world while satisfying the demands of the greatest professional talents – superstars like Lancastrian Brian Redman.Debuted in 1969, the B16 sports racer – arguably the prettiest sports coupé ever to grace the circuits - spawned a long series of 2-litre prototypes, much beloved by connoisseurs of the sport then as now. Today, the closed coupés are among the most popular models, but the incredibly agile and quick open 'Group 6' sports cars, derived from a cut-down B16 Spyder (Bennett’s response to Lola’s T210), enjoy a loyal following throughout Europe. The B31 was an evolution of the B26 and featured subtle changes, such as slightly redesigned fibreglass bodywork, but it retained the same basic aluminium monocoque as its predecessor. Designed to compete in the European 2-Litre Championship, it was powered by a Hart 420R naturally-aspirated, 2-litre, 16-valve DOHC, fuel-injected straight-four generating 290bhp at 9,500rpm fed through a Hewland 5-speed gearbox. Suspension featured double wishbones, coil springs over dampers with an anti-roll bar at the front, and single top links, twin lower links, twin trailing arms, coil springs over dampers with an anti-roll bar at the rear. With ventilated discs all round, rack and pinion steering and weighing only 580kg, the B31 was incredibly nimble. The B31 offered here is the fifth of six documented as built in 1975 and at one point was finished in red and powered by a 3-litre Cosworth DFV. It's now superbly presented in Martini colours and is powered by an Anderson Racing Hart 420R coupled to a J&P Hewland FG400 transaxle, both of which have been rebuilt. Significantly, the car won the 2013 HSCC Martini Sportscars Trophy, achieving four out of 11 wins, and has been professionally maintained and further developed by our vendor ever since. Recently refreshed, it remains in fantastic condition and will come with basic running consumables and four spare wheels. The history file contains HSCC papers issued in 1998 and FIA papers issued in both 2001 and 2007, so renewal should be relatively straightforward if required. One of the best looking '2-litre Sportscars' ever produced, B31/75/05 is well known for being competitive, racing continuously in the HSCC for nearly 30 years and a constant front runner. We invite and encourage your inspection of this superb example of Derek Bennett's magic touch. Superbly presented and fastidiously prepared, this fabulous little Alfa is FIA-papered until 2033, offering exciting racing at some of Europe's most prestigious events for years to come. Alfa Romeo introduced the Giulia Spider in June 1962, being a development of the Giulietta Spider but now with a 1,570cc engine and a 5-speed gearbox. The Spider bodies were designed and built by Pininfarina in Turin and the cars were assembled by Alfa Romeo in Milan. The Veloce version used twin Weber carburettors and hotter camshafts than the Normale to produce around 129bhp.This exceptionally rare 101 Spider Veloce was originally dispatched to Germany, equipped with the highly coveted 1,600 engine from the factory. Transitioned into a racing machine in the 1990s, it embarked on a successful and meticulously documented competitive journey, culminating in a recent comprehensive professional rebuild, leaving no nut or bolt untouched. In the skilled hands of Dr. R Schimmer of Dusseldorf, the Alfa underwent its transformation into a race car, gracing tracks across Europe including Spa, Zolder, Zandvoort, Brno, Hockenheim and the formidable Nordschleife, where it secured an impressive ninth place overall among 185 contenders in the Eifelklassik. Notably, it triumphed at Monza in the 2010 Coppa Intereuropa, starting from the very back of the grid.Acquired by its current custodian in 2021, it underwent a comprehensive overhaul, with attention to the rear axle, carburettors, gearbox and wiring. Engineered for reliability, it has never faltered in over 16 hours of relentless racing since its rejuvenation, looked after by Alficina, who are happy to provide race support in the future. The Alfa boasts an impressive track record, as evidenced by its achievements seen below:2022:Equipe GTS – Silverstone – First in classCSCC Classic K – Silverstone – Second in classHRDC – Silverstone – Third in Monza class2023:Donington Historic HRDC – Second in classEquipe GTS – Brands GP – Fifth in classHSCC Road Sports – Donington – First in classAlfa Revival Cup – Monza – First in GTS classEquipe GTS – Zandvoort – First in 1600 class (Saturday) (with Roberto Giordanelli)Equipe GTS – Zandvoort – First in 1600 class (Sunday)HRDC – Brands Hatch – Second in Monza class (Grant Williams)HRDC - Silverstone - Third in Monza classSuperbly presented, the Alfa commands attention wherever it roams, its rarity securing invitations to premier events. Prepared and compliant to FIA Appendix K (Period F 1962-65) Class GTS10 spec, the car has freshly renewed HTP papers that remain valid until 2033, offering exciting racing at some of Europe's most prestigious events.Specification Make: ALFA ROMEO Model: SPIDER Year: 1965 Chassis Number: AR390445 Registration Number: XPN 760 Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AR0052662997 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: LHD Interior Colour: RedClick here for more details and images

Superb 968 Comp/Fast Road car prepared and presented with amazing attention to detail, equally at home on the circuit or the concours field. This particular Porsche 968 dates from 1993 and had enjoyed a quiet life as a road car before being fully stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt by our vendor, a motorsport specialist, in 2018 for a client, Peter Manion, with the intention of running the car in the Intermarque Series. The client's brief was a little unusual as he wanted a car that was not only competitive but also finished to the very highest of standards with total attention to detail throughout, meaning that the Porsche could not only hold its own on a circuit but also on the show field if required. Competing within the AMOC Intermarque Championship, the 968 was a front-runner from the off, enjoying much success, due no doubt to not only the experienced driver but also the comprehensive specification which included an acid-dipped and lightened shell, composite wings, bonnet, bumpers and doors, a full FIA T45 roll cage and P4P windows all superbly finished in Porsche, paint-to-sample, Blood Orange. A new 3-litre power unit was sourced and rebuilt with JE pistons and rings, Carillo Rods, a machined and balanced crank and a machined and gas-flowed cylinder head with 5-angle valve seats. Further work included a modified airbox for increased cool air flow, a stripped and modified wiring loom and engine-mapping by the knowledgeable Wayne Schofield. As you would expect, the transmission, suspension and braking system have also received quite serious investment – a full specification for which is available upon request. The Porsche was recently purchased back from his client by our vendor, the car's original builder, for his own use and thoroughly gone through with the sort of care you would expect from the car's creator. We understand that it has only had 20-25 minutes of running time since. Business and family commitments, however, mean that his idea of fun is not going to materialise and, reluctantly, the car has to go. The 968 is currently road-registered and may be eligible for a number of Road Sports championships but would certainly be effective in sprints and hill-climbs and would make a great track day car. It's a long time since we saw a 'club racer' prepared and presented to this standard and we invite and encourage your close inspection at our Race Retro Sale.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 968 Year: 1993 Chassis Number: WPOZZZ96ZPS800321 Registration Number: L53 HAN Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: OrangeClick here for more details and images
