1938 MG VA 1½ two door 4 seat open tourerReg No. JMC154Car No. VA1369 Engine No. TPBG1632Dark Red with Red interior, Black Hood and Black Side screensOdometer 88625The MG VA, or MG 1½-litre as it was originally marketed, was produced by MG between February 1937 and September 1939 and was the smallest of the three sports saloons they produced in the late 1930s, the others being the SA and WA.The car used a tuned version of the push-rod, 1548cc overhead valve four-cylinder Morris TPBG type engine that was also fitted to the Wolseley 12/48 and Morris Twelve series III. The MG version had twin SU carburettors and developed 54 bhp at 4500 rpm. Drive was to the live rear axle via a four-speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on the top three ratios. Nineteen-inch wire wheels were fitted, and the 10-inch drum brakes were hydraulically operated using a Lockheed system. In-built hydraulic jacks were standard. Suspension was by half-elliptic springs all round with a live rear axle and beam front axle. Luvax shock absorbers were fitted, the rear ones adjustable from the dashboard. There were only 2,407 VA’s of all body types produced prior to production ending which ensures that these vehicles today remain rare and collectable. This car was purchased by the late deceased owner in April 2001, unfortunately no history is available although it saw regular use up until his death, no record of expenditure can be found. From the DVLA records the last pass MOT recorded was on the 28/06/2007 at a mileage of 88,118.This rare tourer presents in a sound and solid condition, having had fresh fuel and a new battery the car started instantly. It is difficult to say what restoration has been undertaken in the past however, it would appear that little extra work would be required to bring this to an excellent condition. It should be noted that the hood would benefit with replacement along with fresh carpeting to the interior.Sold with V5.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report: From a local deceased estate.Car runs well, although will need recommissioning as has stood for approx 2.5 years.Body and structure very good, however paintwork now showing some wear. Some panels are suffering from micro-blistering.Paint loss to bulkhead.Small chips to front of near-side wing and inside of bumper.Interior with age wear but complete - damage to edges only.Hood would need replacing.Carpets are worn and with some moth damage.Chrome generally good, with some modest tarnishing in places including to lamps.Interior panels very good.Instrument panel complete but showing some age wear.

The vehicle comes with a folder of invoices and receipts, original stamped registration book, The vehicle was last MOT'd September 1999, and at this time and in the preceding few years it was extensively restored by Davenport Cars of Sandy, Beds, with receipts detailing the works. A one-piece windscreen replaced the split-screen, and the walnut dashboard was replaced by a leather trimmed version. Just perfect for long tours and exploring country roads, although the fuel consumption was a mere 22 miles per gallon.Sold with Jaguar dust coverTwo ignition keysIMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report: We have had running, but by bypassing the fuel pump. Lot 3430

A 1968 Sunbeam Alpine Series V GTReg No. NLY978FChassis No. B395016307GTODGreen with Black interiorOdometer 89,260 milesThe original Alpine of 1953 to 1955 had not sold as well as the Rootes Group had hoped, their next attempt was much more successful. At the time of the Series I Alpine’s introduction Rootes had to compete with sports cars such as the MG MGA and Triumph TR3A which were already selling well in the USA.The new Alpine of 1959 did away with a heavy chassis and utilised a modern underpan from the Hillman Husky II suitably strengthened by cruciform bracing with the then current running gear of the Sunbeam Rapier. The most distinctive design feature of this new model were the prominent tail fins on the rear wings and a modern wrap around windscreen together with wind up windows which were absent on their competitors cars. The Alpine was well received by both the press and public alike, Rootes took the opportunity to improve this design on a regular basis which ended with their final series in 1965 which continued in production until early 1968.Our car was one of the last produced and was first registered on the 1st February 1968. Being the GT model, it is fitted with an elegant hardtop, wood finish to the dashboard and +2 configuration. The GT version was sold as an upmarket model so was never fitted with the soft-top or its mechanism although many owners over the years have retro-fitted these items. The 1725cc engine with 5 main bearings is fitted together with twin semi-downdraught Zenith carburettors and has the overdrive gearbox fitted. This car underwent a major body restoration in 1990 involving professional repairs with new repair panels to all four inner and outer wings, sills and door bottoms, all finished with lead loading and finally repainted in 2 pack paint. We believe that the mileage shown is correct as the many MOT certificates on file going back to the 1970’s together with those available on line up to 2015 appear to corroborate this. Clearly, this Alpine has been much cherished by its long term husband and wife owners, the car presents very well today with minimal cosmetics required to return it to mint condition.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report:Car runs well.We believe colour to be original; VIN plate states 86 Forest Green. No soft top conversion.Roof easily detachable and retachable, clips are good.Vendor has owned for over 40 years and has an extensive folder of history. although very little from the 5 years. No evidence of clutch replacement.Door gaps excellent.Chassis excellent.Bodywork generally very good, some corrosion to rear window sill and top of offside wing. Some crazing to perspex quarter lights.Upholstery good, no tears or major marks.Dashboard tarnished and faded along lower edge.Yellow box in engine bay is part of electronic ignition.Chrome good with minor tarnishing only, except for the rear bumper and wheel caps which have significant tarnishing.Rubbers around windscreen with some perishing.

1972 Lotus Europa Twin CamReg No. NMF2LChassis No. 72031465PBlack with Black interior (originally Lotus Yellow)Odometer 36533Lotus Europa’s were produced between 1996 and 1975, a total of 9,230 being made. They used a backbone chassis and lightweight fibreglass body which was fully bonded to the chassis for additional strength. The mounting of the engine and gearbox behind the cabin allowed for the main chassis member to run straight forward to intersect a large box-section cross-beam running across the car between the front suspension points. At the rear, the chassis split into a "U" shape to accommodate combined engine, transmission and final-drive components and to support the rear suspension. The first models used powertrains from Renault’s 16, the Twin Cam using the Lotus/Ford unit of 1588cc.This Lotus is definitely a “barn find”, found blocked up on three wheels with a new brake master cylinder in place but not connected to the pedal nor system fluid replaced. However, with fuel drained and refreshed, with the aid of a jump connection the engine fired and once cleared runs with good oil pressure.Clearly, recommissioning work will be required to return this iconic sports car to the road but this could be achieved quickly and inexpensively or alternatively be an ideal candidate for a full restoration. There is a full Lotus workshop manual with the car along with sundry bills and receipts.Sold with V5.IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE SALE OF CARS & MOTORCYCLES IN THIS AUCTIONCondition report: Fibreglass body is generally sound, but with some gel coat delamination commensurate with age.Chassis condition unknown, but car dry has been dry stored for many years.Brightwork generally very good but requires a clean.Rear bumper lightly corroded.Car runs with reasonable oil pressure.Gearbox functions, drives through all gears. No hydraulic brakes due to replacement master cylinder fitted, but not reconnected to foot pedal and requires bleeding.Battery is dead.Interior generally good but tired.Drivers electric window not working. Both doors dropped slightly on hinges.

The ultimate modern-day Ferrari; rare, coveted and with just 1,600 miles. One of only 599 examples ever made and just two owners in totalNew to a Japanese collection, then bought by our vendor from UK-specialists DK Engineering in 2015Just 2,577km (1,601 miles); never seen rain, superb condition throughoutAll manuals and factory toolkit are still in their original plastic bagsHigh specification in Rosso Corsa (not Rosso Scuderia) paintwork, Grigio Silverstone Opaco roof, full Alcantara interior with Tessuto inserts, Rosso stitching, stitched prancing horses and Rosso harnessesUnderstandably, Ferrari uses the coolest ‘go-faster’ tag in the known-universe sparingly. History shows that only twice before has ‘The Scuderia’ attached the ultimate mark of speed and desirability to the rear of a road car. Those two cars were the 1962 250GTO and the 1984 288GTO - both were defined by performance and an intention to go racing. ‘Gran Turismo Omologato’ is the full description, and homologation was the purpose in both cases, albeit with vastly differing outcomes. The 250 enjoyed a great career, but the 288 GTO was born of the Group B regulations that never delivered the Porsche 959-versus-GTO-at-Le-Mans battles we all craved – leaving it as simply the fastest and most desirable Ferrari road car of its day.So how does this new car, launched in 2010, based on a road machine and with no specific intention to go racing, justify the name? Well, according to Ferrari, it does so by taking much of the technology from the track-only 599XX and making it available with a numberplate: it ‘homologates’ the XX for road use. The aims of this project were, in fact, very simple. Besides translating some of the new technologies wrought through the XX project into a road application, the intention was to extract maximum circuit performance from the 599 package, but still retain enough usability for the car to be a viable road car.The 599 is not an obvious base for a lightweight sports car. It may boast an aluminium bodyshell, but it’s a big machine with a 6.0-litre V12 wedged between the front wheels. The path to sharper responses has of course embraced the standard methodology: make it lighter and add more power but it’s the sheer number and scope of the changes that impresses, helping to justify its 2010 price tag of £299,300 and underpins Ferrari’s assertion that this is much closer to being a 599XX with numberplates than a 599 HGTE-Plus.For starters, engine power rises from 612bhp to a staggering 661bhp; internal friction has been reduced by 12% through all manner of tweaks: DLC (Diamond Like Coating) for the tappets, super-finished cam lobes, a new shape for the crankshaft weights and a new design of piston skirt. The compression ratio rose from 11.2 to 11.9 and the breathing was completely overhauled.Ferrari has crafted a new aluminium intake system that uses shorter runners and saves 2kg, the exhaust system is ‘hydroformed’ – effectively blown into shape, thereby avoiding the heavy seams that come with even the best welding. The process thins the metal from 1.5mm to 0.8mm and saves a remarkable 15kg over a standard system and throughout the car, an impressive 100kg has been shed.Gear ratios are down 6%, the car now hitting its claimed 208 mph maximum on the 8400rpm rev-limiter. If the engine work is comprehensive, the chassis goes even further: new springs, dampers, electronic systems, wheels, tyres and a new generation of carbon-ceramic brake that uses, for the first time in a road car, a ceramic pad material. At Fiorano the car is brutally fast, lapping a second faster than any other Ferrari, and that’s despite weighing 300kg more than a 430 Scuderia. The GTO’s list of go-faster aids is bewildering. It uses the now familiar F1-Trac system to harness those 661 horses, but it now has SCM2, which is a second-generation ‘Skyhook’ damper – the type with magnetized fluid that can alter viscosity through electric current. The main difference on the GTO is that it is fitted with three accelerometers from the XX that relay real-time data to SCM2, whereas the GTB’s dampers have to use approximate data. It’s very, very clever stuff. The latest F1 automated manual is superb, giving 60m/s shifts at Fiorano (that’s 40m/s faster than a GTB) yet able to slur the action in town. The noise? The outside world is treated to about four-fifths of the Le Mans soundtrack but, in its upper reaches, the V12 gets sharp, angry and altogether glorious. Performance is other-worldly, Ferrari claims it’ll do a standing km in 19.9sec, which makes it one of the fastest cars ever made in 2010.You could go on about this machine for an entire website - the thinner glass is 5.5kg lighter, forged wheels and titanium bolts save an eye-popping 22kg, and Sabelt’s snug carbon seats trim another 17kg. It’s a detail masterpiece, a track genius, a road tonic and yet another great Ferrari. Oh, and it fully deserves the badge. The car presented here is as close to a new 599 GTO as you are likely to find, a 2011 example with just over 1,600 miles covered and, in a condition, which wholly reflects this. The car has a very high specification with Rosso Corsa (not Rosso Scuderia) paintwork, Grigio Silverstone Opaco roof, full Alcantara interior with Tessuto inserts, Rosso stitching, stitched prancing horses and Rosso harnesses. It is supplied with all of its original and complete book-pack (its specification-specific Classiche document was retained by the original owner, but ordering a replacement from Ferrari is straightforward), covers, radio/key code cards and spare key.Being offered for sale from a discerning private collector of best-of-the-best classic and modern-classic cars, this GTO has been serviced / looked after by the famous 'Cornes' dealership of Japan, then DK Engineering and Dick Lovett Ferrari in the UK, and is undoubtedly one of the best examples available anywhere. Bought by our vendor in 2015 from DK Engineering who described it as 'an exceptional example', going on to say in an accompanying letter in the history file 'it is without doubt one of the best condition cars we have seen recently, especially in regards to the underside (of the car) which I looked closely at in the process of the service and PDI carried out in our workshops'. There is all the reassurance you could want about its ownership/servicing in Japan, its meticulous transportation to the UK (photos & paperwork etc.) and its subsequent full inspection with one of the UK's most revered Ferrari specialists. Regarded by many Ferrari enthusiasts as ‘ultimate modern-day Ferrari’, with that tangible GTO magic well and truly present, the associated kudos of knowing what that really is, and enough power and go to satisfy the demands of drivers seeking thrills from any one of the current crop of supercars, the 599 GTO might just be the high-tide mark for normally aspirated, big-engined sportscars full-stop.*Forming part of A Sale of Ferraris in association with Ferrari Owners' Club of Great Britain, the buyer of this lot will be entitled to one years free membership with Ferrari Owners Club of Great Britain* SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 599 GTOYear: 2011Chassis Number: ZFF70RDJ000179278Registration Number: RA11 HFJTransmission: Semi-autoEnClick here for more details and images

~ 1937 Morgan Super Sport 3-Wheeler Registration number: DVV 5 Date of first registration: 12 02 1937 VIN number: D1732 Engine number: MX2666 MOT expires: N/A V5C present lisiting 3 former keepers Current mileage shown: 82422 990cc Green HPI checked. A rare opportunity to acquire a correct and well maintained, pre-war sports car. Morgan started its journey in a small Malvern garage in 1909; the Morgan Motor Company was formed by Henry Fredrick Stanley Morgan (HFS) and it all started with three wheels. In 1908, Henry Morgan designed and built a car for his own use. The three-wheeler used his own design independent front suspension and was powered by a 7 bhp Peugeot twin cylinder engine left over from an abandoned motorcycle project. Morgan won the Cyclecar Grand Prix at Amiens in France with an average speed of 42 mph for the 163 mile distance. This established the company name and reputation in the world of competition and the car became the basis for the Grand Prix model from 1913 to 1926. This evolved into the model we have here today, the Aero. This stunning right-hand drive 1937 Morgan Super Sport 3 Wheeler has been in a private collection and in long term ownership. She is presented in traditional racing green with a black interior. It comes equipped with a 3-speed manual transmission, 900cc Mathles's V-Twin engine, dual side exhaust, soft top, Tonneau cover, and wire wheels. Paintwork and interior are in excellent order, as are the wheels and tyres. The condition can only be described as wonderful, sporting all its correct dials, lights and switches, a very original machine indeed. Eligible for popular VSCC events and light car racing, this is a very rare and highly collectible Morgan which would make a great addition to any classic car collection.

1960 MGA MK1 Roadster Registration number: 653 XVC Date of first registration: 01 01 1960 VIN number: GHNL76515 Engine number: RM536630 MOT expires: 09 05 2022 V5C present listing first registration in the UK 01 09 2018 Current mileage shown: 61,798 1600cc White Superb left-hand drive body off restoration with detailed history and photographic evidence; full list of photographs With British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate dated 4th July 2001 HPI checked Condition Report:Officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955, It was a complete departure in styling and its beautiful streamlined bodywork was as curvaceous and attractive as anything from Italy or France. The modern look required a modern engine and, with the old XPAG unit getting a touch long in the tooth, the shiny new 'B-Series' engine recently debuted in the new Magnette saloon, seemed to fit the bill. The appeal of the MGA was quite staggering, in the first full year of production in 1956, more than 13,000 cars were built, which far exceeded the entire production achieved over a four year period with the TF.   Presented in old English white this beautiful left hand drive example has underwent a comprehensive and expensive restoration in recent times.  Every aspect of the car has been addressed from a first class respray to a total interior makeover to a very good standard, including new leather, carpets and trim. The chrome work has all been refurbished to a very high standard and she sports a new hood. The wheels have been refurbished and new tyres fitted.Mechanically she appears to be in excellent order, starts and drives well and at a glance under the bonnet it is clearly obvious all auxiliaries have been either refurbished or new fitted where necessary.   There still remains a correct originality to many aspects of the car including dials and switch gear giving the car a period feel. All in all a very correct and beautifully restored example of what is now nearly a seventy year old motorcar.

~ 1989 Toyota MR2 MK1 Registration number: F274 UFV Date of first registration: 05 01 1989 VIN number: JTICoAW1100147940 Engine number: 4A1394033 MOT expires: N/A V5C present listing 1 former keeper, same ownership since 09/08/1989 Current mileage shown: 37750 1587cc Red Original low mileage car 2 previous MOT certificates on file: 1998 - 37,759 miles, 1997 - 37,740 miles With purchase receipt dated 1989 from Toyota Park Engineering Co (Nelson) Ltd for the sum of £12,200, mileage 9,000 HPI checked. The Toyota MR2 is a two-seat, mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car manufactured in Japan and marketed globally by Toyota from 1984 to 2007, over three generations: W10 (1984-1989), W20 (1990-1999) and W30 (2000-2007). From its original design, the car evolved into a sports car and Japan's first mid-engine production car. Further prototypes were tested both in Japan and in California, including significant testing on race circuits including Willow Springs. Heavily influenced by Italian sports cars of the era, such as the Fiat X19 and Ferrari's 308 GTB, Toyota designed an affordable sports car, far removed from anything else on the market at that time. The series 1 MR2 (W10) is now recognised as a truly brilliant design with bulletproof reliability. Being mid-engined, the handling was precise and the styling revolutionised car design for ever. This series one car has emerged from a twenty year slumber and can only be described as in remarkable original condition. Showing only 37,000 original miles, the car has been owned virtually from new. The interior is excellent, though would benefit from a professional valet. The paint is original though shows signs of micro blistering in localised areas and there is some like damage in the form of small dents on top of the rear wing (damaged in previous storage). With some servicing work there is no doubt this MR2 could make a stunning and rare show contender.

1965 Triumph TR4A IRSReg. no. CEA 936CChassis no. C7C5764ZOEngine no. C156Z68EThe TR4A was the last of the TR range to use the long-serving Standard wet-liner four-cylinder engine. Launched in 1965, it addressed the main criticism that had been levelled at the TR4 – its harsh ride. The TR4A now had independent rear suspension, a semi-trailing arm setup with coil springs and lever-arm shock absorbers. Accommodating this new arrangement made the car slightly wider and 50kg heavier than the TR4, but this was made up for by the resulting improvements in both comfort and handling, while the engine was enhanced with improved manifolds, now giving 104bhp. Cosmetically, the car now sported an ‘IRS’ badge at the rear, alluding to the new suspension, while there was also some new chrome trim, smaller bumpers and a new design of convertible top based on that of the Herald. On the interior, the dash was now covered in walnut as standard, which had been an option on the TR4.This UK-market 1965 TR4A features some of the most desirable options and accessories available for these cars. The four-speed gearbox benefits from the optional overdrive on second, third and fourth, and the car is also fitted with the desirable rear screen and ‘Surrey’ hard top – very sought-after items in the TR world. In very good mechanical condition, the engine is said to be leak-free and has just been serviced, with all ancillaries either replaced or reconditioned. The cooling system has been flushed and the hoses replaced, and there is a new battery with cut-off switch, as well as a new stainless steel sports exhaust. As far as the bodywork, paintwork and interior are concerned, the car is in fair condition, having been restored around 10 years ago. This extremely useable TR comes with a current V5C.Estimate: £16,500 – 17,000

1961 Vanden Plas PrincessReg. no. 730 CXHChassis no. VDM 414955Engine no. 14936Launched as the Austin A135 Princess in 1952 and re-branded as a Vanden Plas in 1960, this large 4-litre limousine represented the last in the line of large luxury Austins. Although using Austin underpinnings, the car was actually built at the Vanden Plas works in Kingsbury in North London, an arrangement that would continue right up until the end of production in 1968. Extremely luxuriously appointed, with plenty of polished wood and thick carpeting, the Princess was not aimed at the general market – the options of monograms and a flagstaff attested to that. Instead, it was aimed at heads of state, dignitaries, and other customers who required a dignified car in which to be seen and transported. Although not sports cars by any stretch of the imagination, by the early 60s Princesses could reach about 85mph, although the big 4-litre straight six and automatic gearbox were more intended for refined, smooth progress. They proved excellent at this, and Princesses are still a popular choice as event cars, particularly for weddings and other such occasions where their air of timeless British luxury provides a touch of class. This 1961 Princess was originally owned by a shipping company as directors’ transport. After that, it was used for many years for weddings. At some point before 1974 the original cloth upholstery in the rear was replaced with imitation leather; the front compartment retains its original leather. Originally black, the car has gone through several resprays before reaching its current colour scheme. It is in good sound condition bodywork-wise. The engine has been converted to run on unleaded fuel. These cars represent value, not least when one considers they can seat eight people, and this one looks ideal for either a return to work, or as a luxury classic with space for all the family. It comes with service history back to 1974, plus a V5C.Estimate: £3,000 – 4,000

1976 MG MidgetReg. no. RKG 67RChassis no. t.b.a.Engine no. t.b.a.By 1976 MG’s popular midget was a well-established part of the British motoring scene, their affordability and ease of maintenance meaning that many thousands found appreciative owners, who got to experience all the joys of traditional British sports car ownership, without breaking the bank. From 1974, the Midget benefitted from the installation of the 1500cc Triumph engine in place of the 1275 A-Series, the larger engine producing the same 65bhp but more torque, giving a noticeable improvement in performance. Also new for 1974 were the black US-spec bumpers; these ‘rubber bumper’ cars have long divided opinion but are now coming into favour with enthusiasts. This 1976 1500 Midget is a restoration project that should prove most rewarding, with parts easy to come by. The engine turns freely.Estimate: £1,500 – 2,000

1960 MGA 1600cc SportsReg. no. SFV 452Chassis no. GHN 83323Engine no. 16GA/U/1692Officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955, the MGA represented a clean break from the pre-war nature of the T-series cars that preceded it. Available as both an open sports car and a coupe, so different was it to other MGs that the letter A was used to signify a new start, a clean break from the older cars. Compared to the TF, the driver sat much lower, this being achieved by moving the chassis rails further apart and dropping the floor down between them. This resulted in both a more immersive driving experience and better handling. Under the bonnet, there was a new engine replacing the pre-war-derived XPAG unit, this being the 1.5 litre B-Series unit that MG now had access to as a result of the merger with Austin to form BMC. By 1960, the B-Series had grown to 1.6 litres, putting out 79.5bhp. These 1600 cars also gained disc brakes at the front. Tested by ‘The Motor’ in 1959, the MGA 1600 was found to have a top speed of just over 96mph and a 0-60 time of 13.3 seconds – performance that put it on a similar footing to rivals from the likes of Triumph. This 1960 MGA 1600 was purchased by the vendor as an almost-finished restoration project in 2003. Over the next three years it was completed, and since then it has been in regular use, and regularly run with the Swansea Historic Vehicle Register. It has featured in their calendar in 2012 and picked up a few minor awards at club shows. The car has been maintained as a genuine runner and has participated in several long-distance runs, such as attending classic events in Ireland. Naturally in good condition mechanically, it is also good body-wise, with a professional repaint in the late 90s, although there is a scratch and dent on the driver’s door. This extremely useable example of this classic British sports car, may require some minor recommissioning and is offered with a V5C, a set of wire wheels, various re-chromed bumpers, side screens etc.Estimate: £12,000 – 15,000

1975 MG B GT Jubilee Special AnniversaryReg. no. HCC 869NChassis no. GHD5 – 377572GEngine no. 3404Development of the MGB started in the late 1950s, as MG looked to steal a jump on their main rivals Triumph. The resulting car was rather advanced in its construction when launched in 1962, utilizing a unitary structure instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction used on both its predecessor the MG A and the Triumph TR series. However, components such as brakes and suspension were developed from those of the MG A, while the B-Series engine was also already in use in the wider BMC stable. The lightweight design and parts interchangeability meant it was cheap to produce, and therefore affordable, and it captured a large segment of the British sports car market. In 1965, the ‘GT’ coupe version was launched, sporting a ground-breaking design by Pininfarina that has been viewed in some ways as a predecessor of the later, all-conquering hatchback form of car. The angle of the rear opening meant the car had much more luggage space than the roadster, while also being a genuine four-seater. B GTs were naturally slightly heavier than the roadsters, but actually had a higher top speed due to the improved aerodynamic shape. This 1975 B GT is a rare ‘Jubilee’ special edition, with the striking colour scheme distinctive to that model. 751 of this model were built for 1975, with around 200 thought to survive. The vendor purchased this car in March 2005, with the bodywork having been comprehensively restored by the previous owner. Used regularly up until around 2012, it was then put into storage as the owner became more active with the MGA and TD also in his collection. A new clutch was fitted prior to storage; however, the hydraulic system will need bleeding and the clutch setting up before use. Otherwise, the car is in decent all-round condition for its age. The 1.8 litre B-Series engine is in running order, but full recommissioning is advised. This car should prove an enjoyable vehicle once returned to the road. It comes with documentation regarding the previous owner’s restoration. There is a V5C in the file plus sundry other books on the model and bills.Estimate: £4,000 – 6,000

1988 Mercedes-Benz 500SE Registration no. TBAChassis no. WDB1260362A418741Odometer reading: 8,400MOT Expiry: 14 December 2021*1 owner from new*Exceptionally low mileage *Dry stored throughout its lifeCommenting on their significance, Werner Breitschwerdt, Daimler-Benz Development Chief, said, 'The new 500SE and SEL five-litre models are equal or even superior to our 450SEL 6.9 in design and equipment.' First seen at the Frankfurt Show in 1979, the range-topping 500SE/SEL saloons were the most luxurious built by Mercedes-Benz. Replacements for the 6.9-litre 450SEL, the re-styled newcomers used the 4,973cc overhead-camshaft V8 already seen in the 450SLC coupé. In saloon trim the all-alloy, fuel-injected motor produced 240bhp and was coupled to an all-new, four-speed automatic gearbox. Both the SE and SEL (long wheelbase) models could accelerate to 60mph in around 7 seconds and reach 140mph, a level of performance similar to the larger-engined but heavier 450SEL's and superior to that of many out-and-out sports cars. This right-hand drive 500SE über-saloon was acquired by the vendor (its first and only owner) in 1988. To this day the car has seen sparing use always being well maintained and dry stored. Finished in Pearl grey with navy blue perforated leather interior, the 500SE has an endless specification sheet, with almost every option selected when ordered new by our vendor. The vehicle comes with regular maintenance documents, current MoT and V5 registration document. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

The car was unveiled in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show, featuring a 105hp 1.6 four-cylinder Renault engine that propels the car to 60 in 5.9 seconds. The car is rear-wheel drive and features a five-speed manual transmission that's also sourced from Renault. At only 275cm long and 560kg, these are very small and light weight machines that are huge fun – particularly with the open top. The weight distribution is 60/40 with the rear mounted engine, giving a Porsche like feel on the road. The styling is also quite distinctive and resonates with that of a beach buggy – however this is nothing of the sort. This 2009 example originates from Jersey and has had 2 owners from. 1934 Talbot Lago T120 Baby ProjectRegistration no. 842 YUEChassis no. 85172Odometer Reading: N/AMot Expiry: ExemptOwned and campaigned by Karl Ludvigsen*Largely complete set of spares*Extensive historyOn the dissolution of the Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq combine in 1935, automobile engineer Major AF 'Tony' Lago bought the Darracq factory at Suresnes and continued production, selling his cars as Darracqs in the UK and Talbots in France. The revitalized marque embraced both sports car and Grand Prix racing, and in 1937 achieved victories in the French Grand Prix and the Tourist Trophy; from then onwards it was an uphill struggle against the state-subsidized might of the German and Italian opposition. There were, however, many notable successes in the immediate post-war years, including three Grand Prix wins for French Champion Louis Rosier. This T120 has a fascinating history and is a truly exciting project to be returned to the road, the car was restored in France before returning to England, unfortunately the car was damaged when competing in a rally in Wales. The car has since been repaired accordingly and is ready to be restored to its former glory. Fitted with the lovely 3-litre engine coupled with a Wilson pre-selector gearbox, this T120 would provide an engaging and speedy driving experience. The car is accompanied with bills through the 80s, 90s and 2000s and a V5 document. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Vendor Score Total: 20/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1972 Datsun 240ZRegistration no. SFL 342KChassis no. 80847Odometer Reading: 23,315MoT Expiry: 17 March 2022*LHD example*Described as good condition*Extensively restored*Iconic Japanese sports carThe Datsun 240Z was one of the best sports cars to come out of the 1970s. The car was overall surprising – not just because it was a new Japanese sports car, but because it offered a 125mph top speed and 0-60 time of 8 seconds – impressive figures at the time. The car also represented excellent value, with a price tag that was only 10% above that of an MGB – but with considerably more performance and practicality on offer. Styled by Yoshihiko Matsuo, the 240Z design has aged incredibly well and has retained itself as an icon with its revvy 2.4 litre straight-six engine. This LHD example is showing 24,232 miles shown on the clock. The car has been previously restored, including according to the vendor, a change from automatic transmission to manual, and is presented in a striking bright yellow colour scheme with black leather interior. It has also been uprated with a 280Z distributor for improved driveability. The bodywork, running gear, interior and electrics are all described by the vendor as good condition, and the car comes with a small amount of history (with the vendor acquiring the car in May 2020). The car is offered with an MOT free from advisories, valid until March 2022, and the car is described overall as being in good condition – offering a great opportunity to own an iconic Japanese sports car.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 83/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1976 Mercedes-Benz 350SL ConvertibleRegistration no. SAK 571Chassis no. 10704322012136Odometer reading: 153,103MoT expiry date: TBC*Automatic transmission*Body refurbished and repainted in 2011*Interior re-trimmed in 2011Although larger than their predecessors, the 350 SL convertible and 350 SLC coupé retained the overall look of the long-running 230/250/280 SL family and were the first Mercedes-Benz sports cars to use a V8 engine, the latter's 200bhp more than offsetting the increase in bulk. All-independent suspension ensured superb ride and handling, while four-wheel disc brakes restrained the 130mph-plus performance. There was a choice of either four-speed manual or similar automatic transmission, and the 350 SL/SLC were luxuriously equipped in the finest Mercedes-Benz tradition. This automatic transmission 350 SL convertible's body was refurbished in 2011 and re-sprayed, the interior being re-trimmed at the same time in nice chequered cloth. Running and driving nicely, the car comes with a handbook and V5C document. Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereFootnotes:Please click the link to view the walkaround video of this lot: click hereVendor Score Total: 59/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1967 Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 DuettoRegistration no. MVT 760EChassis no. AR710152Odometer reading: 4,500 MilesMOT Expiry: N/A*Exceptional low mileage*Rare factory RHD car*In current ownership since 1971*Sold for recommissioning The Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider is one of the most iconic Italian sports cars to come out of the 1960s, with the Spider being one of the last known designs of Battista Pininfarina before his passing in 1966. The design proved to be a classic – and remained largely unchanged for three decades. This example is a rare factory right hand drive car – with only 382 RHD cars made with the 1600cc engine. Not only that but the car also has exceptionally low mileage with only 4,500 miles since new. This is largely due to the car being solely used for holidays by the vendor, who himself was a mechanic and who owned the car since 1971. The car comes with a good history file and log book, and has also been garage stored. The bodywork could do with some work in places, but overall the car is in good condition and is very original. The interior is also in good condition, bar the headlining. The engine starts and runs as it should. The car will be sold for recommissioning due to its lack of use, but it could be brought up to a very high standard by a new owner if desired. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

1952 MG TD RoadsterRegistration no. 284 UYFChassis no. TD17262Odometer reading: 90,000MOT Expiry: N/A*Restored in 2014*Converted to RHD*Desirable colour combinationMG's TD model continues to offer true British sports car driving with its combination of looks, performance and affordable running costs strengthening its appeal. Like so many examples, this 1952 example was delivered to California when new but came back to the UK in 2014. Upon its arrival it was treated to a full restoration and converted to RHD to aid UK driver enjoyment. The car has been fitted with a Ford P5 gearbox, stainless steel exhaust, walnut dashboard, new hood, and a picnic rack for those lovely sunny days. The vendor reports it is driving well and remains in good all-round order having been dry stored throughout their ownership. The car is in generally good order and it presents very well with its green and tan colour combination. The interior is in very good order throughout: seat facings, dashboard and carpets are in very presentable condition and make any journey a pleasure. In all, a delightful example of this still-popular MG that would be ideal for tours of mainland Europe.Footnotes:Vendor Score Total: 77/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH. 1954 Bentley R-Type 4½-Litre SaloonRegistration no. Not UK registeredChassis no. B292YD*Automatic transmission*Right hand drive*Present ownership since 2011*Acquired in the USAThe rationalisation policy begun in the late 1930s continued at Rolls-Royce after the war with the introduction of standard bodywork. The new 'standard steel' body was available at first only on the Bentley MkVI, the equivalent Rolls-Royce - the Silver Dawn - not appearing until 1949. A separate chassis was retained and the range featured a new design of independent front suspension, hydraulic front brakes, and a new 4,257cc, six-cylinder, 'F-head' (inlet-over-exhaust) engine, the latter enlarged to 4,566cc in 1951. In 1952 a much needed improvement to the standard bodywork arrived in the form of an enlarged boot together with alterations to the rear wings and suspension, subsequent models incorporating these changes being known as the R-Type Bentley and E-Series Silver Dawn. Chassis number 'B292YD' was manufactured in 1954 and has the Rolls-Royce/General Motors Hydramatic four-speed automatic transmission that had recently become available as an option (and would be standardised on the successor Bentley S1). Little is known of this car's history and the documentation on file consists of the original State of New Jersey Certificate of Title and bill of sale when the vendor purchased it from Sports & Specialist Cars of Hopewell, New Jersey in October 2011. Having been stored for the intervening period, the car may require some re-commissioning prior to road use. Subsequently exported, the Bentley is subject to the low import duty rate of 5% should it remain in the UK.Lot to be sold without reserve. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * N* Subject to import tax at a preferential rate on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.N If purchased by a UK resident, this machine is subject to a NOVA declaration, whilst the responsibility of submitting the NOVA rests with the Buyer to do so, Bonhams will facilitate the process by engaging an agent (CARS) to undertake the NOVA on the Buyer's behalf.
