Pre-Production Prototype1992 Peugeot 205 GTiRegistration no. K736 BKVChassis no. VF320CDK225101669Odometer reading: 116,000MOT: 24/02/2022*Pre-Production Prototype*Original example*Good history*Rare factory yellow paintFootnotes:The Peugeot 205 GTI is an iconic French hot hatchback that is thought of very highly by enthusiasts. First introduced in April 1984, the 205 GTI became a quick success due to its playful nature and peppy 105bhp 1.6-litre engine. The combination of a 900kg car that could do a 0-62mph run in just 8.7 seconds was staggering at the time, and later on in 1986 a faster GTI was launched with a new 1.9 engine. This boosted the power to 130bhp, thus lowering the 0-60 to an even more impressive 7.8 seconds. This 205 GTI is one of the rarest in existence as it was the only GTI that was factory produced in yellow. It comes from a private collection and it's only outing in the last twelve years was to be displayed at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in 2014 where Classic Car Weekly selected it as one of the top six cars of the 1,700 on displayThis 1992 example is a later 1.9 GTI that is an exceptionally rare pre-production prototype. The car is finished in this striking yellow paint which is also reported to be the only of its kind to have been painted this colour from factory. Overall, the car is in a very good condition, and it has been displayed at the Peugeot stand at the Classic Motor Show NEC in 2014. It also comes equipped with its original handbook, a selection of old MOTs, and a recently fitted stainless steel exhaust. The specification is very high as the car is equipped with factory air conditioning, leather seats, large sunroof etc. This is an original and rare example.Vendor Score Total: 87/100Bidders should note that the automated 100-point Seller's Assessment is provided by each Seller at the point of consignment using the guidelines below, and is not provided, assessed or verified by Bonhams MPH.
