Good pronounced snout and woodwool stuffing. The snout having black stitching to end, with black stitching also to ends of arms and legs. 13" tall. Comes with a valuation from The Old Bear Company, in 1996. From a personal and private collection of antique Steiff teddy bears, amassed over many years.

RARE AND EARLY c1910 STEIFF TEDDY BEAR; A fabulous early Steiff teddy bear. Circa 1910 with 'STEIFF' button to ear. Jointed limbs with boot button eyes and woodwool stuffing. Pronounced snout with defined hump to rear. Provenance; Bear comes with his lifelong 'bed' - a Victorian / Edwardian small cloth bound childs trunk, a photograph of the original owner (pictured with a toy), a collection of counting blocks and various other 'bedding' for the bear. A fantastic collection of provenance which, under direction of the vendor 'must never part with the bear.' Woodwool stuffing, hump to back, pronounced snout with elongated arms. The legs, arms and head being jointed. This very bear was used by ' Miller's Collecting Teddy Bears & Dolls' (page 28), as a reference. A copy of the book is supplied.
