A full size German violin by Heinrich Th Heberlein Jr, marked Markneukirchen 1907, Stradivarius copy with label, the two-piece back 35.7cm, cased with a nickel mounted bow. Accompanying this lot is a sheet of information regarding an early owner of this violin being William Glynn Walters of Denbigh, North Wales, who was killed in action during WWI in 1916.
Violin stamped with the maker's trademark log (J.D either side of a violin); also labelled Antonius Stradivarius..., the two piece back of broad curl with similar wood to the sides, the head of medium curl, the table of a medium/broad width grain and the varnish of a reddish-brown colour on a golden ground, 14 1/8", 35.90cm
